Kardis. Age 16, often seen carrying a large staff with a red ball at the tip and wearing a smug grin that would make anyone want to slug him. Not much is known about Kardis, due to his secretive demeanor. But, he's become rather involved with many of the adventurers in Rivendell, so perhaps more has been discovered about his nature than he might like. His most apparent connection is with Kivrin deRocinante: a relationship which he has occassionally claimed to be love, but that is extremely questionable. Even recently, he seemingly abandoned her in a time of great need. Is this due to fear of his emotions, conspiring towards some other plan, or simply because he doesn't care? Hard to say.

Kardis has the magical training of a Darkmage. He is stronger than he appears, distrustful, and has an almost misguided preoccupation with illusionary magic, often insisting on using it even during casual conversations. His blood is that of a Setoran, a dry eastern kingdom with a strange military history. With a regal attitude and manner, he seems very aristocratic despite his magely dress. He sometimes claims to have come from his country on some sort of mission, but those who know him would consider the truth in that to be arguable. But perhaps he does have a purpose more honorable than he lets on...

...or...perhaps not.
