The two made a race out of squireship, to the point of making the other apprentices seem gentle in comparison. Both learned swordsmanship, but one specialized in the use of a polearm while the other, Tamblyn, grew attached to a strange (and quite frankly, huge) style of weapon called a Cresheld. During their childhood, Tamblyn came to be good friends with her cousin, Tessamyn. Although they had practically nothing in common, she seemed to be the only person who could effortlessly relate to Tess and talk to her about the difficulties of life. Eventually, and perhaps inevitably, Tamblyn left home to make a living on the road, since working for the Royal Army didn't appeal to her. She wandered for several years, doing who-knows-what in whatever-strange-lands, primarily in the name of chivalry and fair-play.
Her optimism eventually brought her to Rivendell, when she heard news of an
old childhood friend who had become lost in the mountains, Emithyst Tristella.
Tamblyn immediately decided she would find her, despite numerous rumors
that the young girl had fallen off a precipice high in the mountains. Knowing
that she would need help, she made a trip to Ravensdale to find her cousin,
Tessamyn. How will the unlikely companion react?...
