The application process is closed!
I'm leaving this page up here just in case anyone is interested, and in case for any reason later someone has to drop out of the game...though I will give first consideration to characters who have already applied but were not chosen. I'm hoping no one has to drop out, though...we have a great group and are having a lot of fun! Anyway, read on in case you're interested. ^_^
"So, how I you get into this nifty-spiff game?" I'm so glad you asked! Take a look at these steps to find out the answer:
- Have you played Grandia?
First of all, let me warn you straight off—Grandia involves a lot of backstory, and if you have not actually played the game, it may be very difficult for you to catch up to what's going on. There is some backstory and world information on this page, but this is primarily a refresher for people who have played the game. So with this in mind, I strongly recommend that you do not apply for the game unless you have played Grandia for the Playstation. Besides, Grandia just has such a cool story, I think you're really missing out if you haven't played it yet!
- Can you make the time commitment?
It's far too early to decide when we'll be roleplaying GrandiaRPG, but as soon as I can check the roleplay schedule for Lunarnet, I will start thinking about a good possible time. When it's decided I will post it here. But you can pretty much count on there being an average of one session per week, which all players should attend unless they have a really good reason not to that they can't get out of. We may also have an occasional extra session once in a while for character interaction or to make up for scheduling problems.
- Read the story and world information.
There is so much story, culture, and history in the game Grandia (and there should be, with 70 or 80 hours of gameplay!) that I advise you to at least skim through these two sections, just to remind yourself of what happened in the game and get a feel for where our RPG will be starting.
- Read the game info.
Here you'll find information on how to generate and submit a character and just how our game will work.
- Create and submit a character!
Remember, not everyone can join; I have about six to eight spots open, and we really can't exceed that if we are going to have any kind of coherent game sessions at all. I will choose characters that I think will be interesting and will interact well together, and that I think fit in well with the Grandia world and my ideas for this story.
- Get ready to wait.
Hopefully this should not take too long to work out, but I do have to hammer out a game system and get the plot finalized. I'm looking at a couple weeks to maybe a month or so before I'm ready to start actually playing the game. So, patience...it'll get going eventually!
Well, that's how you join the game. To submit a character, be sure to go to the character submission page for rules and contact info!
