The transport should be ready in an hour or two, so she has a little time to prepare...and to think things over. * Erellisae packs rather halfheartedly, her mind not on the job. She sighs, and lays her pack to one side, flopping out on the bed and staring at the ceiling. * Jalanda steps softly into the hallway outside Erel's room as she is packing, her footsteps making hollow sounds in the cavernous base. * Erellisae shakes her head, then hauls herself to her feet again, hearing the footsteps. "...?" * Jalanda knocks softly upon the door to the chamber. "Erellisae, it is Jalanda." * Erellisae blinks, then walks to the door, puts on a smile, and opens the door for Jalanda. "Come on in." ^^ * Jalanda graciously accept the invitation, stepping inside. It is hard to read the expression on her face, but it looks like she's troubled. I hope I am not interrupting your important preperations.. * Erellisae shakes her head, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Not at all. I was just... thinking." Her smile falters slightly, but she keeps it up. * Jalanda weakly smiles back. "Yes, it is a time for many thoughts..." She sits down on the edge of the bed by Erellisae. * Erellisae looks a little uncertain. "So... what can I do for you...?" Among them, is the burden I see you carrying now, little one... you returned to us not as you had left. * Erellisae sighs, leaning back to stare up at the ceiling, and speaking softly. "... I wouldn't be surprised if you already knew..." ^^ * Jalanda looks up to the cieling as well. "You could say I always knew, from the moment we had first met in Parm..." The skies call to you, for there is the land of your people. (m) Not just the skies, it seems... * Erellisae shakes her head, smiling slightly. "But... yes, you're right, of course. I'm... a Lumian..." * Erellisae looks on the verge of tears again, but she's blinking them back with a determined air. * Jalanda looks across to her, voice soft. "Erellisae, I'm sure there are many emotions behind that smile... but you are trying to be strong. You are very brave, Lumian or not. Many people can see this." * Erellisae smiles a little wryly. "I try...", before sighing again. "I just... wish I'd known... wish my parents had /told/ me..." parents want to protect their children, and give them a happy life. Perhaps they were trying to save you from the past mistakes, to not be what history has decreed your people should bear. * Erellisae sighs heavily. "That's what Gyan said... but... protect me or not, they /lied/... said I was human... I... they could have told me at least /what/ I was..." * Jalanda lowers her eyes. "Would you have understood at that time? Even now, you're struggling to accept what you are..." * Erellisae shakes her head. "I... don't know. Maybe when I was younger, I would've accepted it out of hand... or I wouldn't have spent so long not knowing about myself..." * Jalanda sighs faintly. "Unfortunately we can't change the past, only hope to learn from it... innocence has to be shed. I just fear you are moving too fast..." * Erellisae giggles slightly. "I don't plan on changing /too/ much... just enough to get through this. So I can ask my parents why, when I see them again." ^^ Mmm... I'm sure in all you do, you make them proud. Family is something many are lucky to have... and now, you have discovered an entirely new one to meet someday. * Erellisae remains silent for a while, then looks across slowly at Jalanda. "... why's destiny like this? My parents always tried to stop me going on an adventure, but I went on one... they wanted to protect me from who I was, but I found out anyway...?" * Jalanda takes a while to answer. "I cannot hope to know why destiny works the way that it does. The impossible can be made possible, the weak can become the great, and the secret can become the truth..." It is not just destiny guiding you, but the desire deep inside to understand, that has brought you past such obstacles.. If you merely flowed with the rest of the world, your star would not shine the way it does, Erellisae. This is what truly makes you unique. * Erellisae pauses a while, thinking... then stretches with a long sigh, and relaxes. "Well! Nothing to really do but keep on pushing forward, right?" ^_^ * Jalanda smiles. "Of course. Time moves ever forward... and so do we. Great things lie ahead for you, it is what you choose to accept that is important." * Erellisae nods. "Thank you... I feel a little better for that. Not so good yet, but I'll get there..." ^^ I only wish to see you happy and complete... until that time I will do my best to guide you. I promsie you that. I wish to see what you can do with my own eyes... * Jalanda puts her hands on her lap. "Maybe you'll even correct the mistakes time has wrought... that would make you the number one adventurer indeed." ^^ * Erellisae grins, a little wryly. "Hey, now... One step at a time. I've only just found out I'm a lost race." ^^: * Jalanda pats Erelissae's shoulder a bit. "You're also carrying another shard, I sense..." * Erellisae nods, fishing out the pendant from under her collar. "A gift from Gyan... said it represented my ancestry..." ^^ If I am right, it represents more than that, something that binds us all together. * Erellisae giggles. "You may be right... when aren't you?" ^^ * Jalanda smiles a bit more. "It's not about being right or wrong... it is just a part of who I am, and what my place in destiny is." Believe me, I can be just as wrong about something as anyone else... but I must be correct, for all of our sakes... * Erellisae smiles. "I'll never understand it... but then, I prefer jumping in headfirst. :D" * Jalanda folds her arms in her lap. "Perhaps I will never understand it either... though your passion for life is very inspirational to us all." * Erellisae sweatdrops. "It's nearly killed us all at least once..." ^^;; It shall not be the last, I feel... making your heart and mind want the same goal is a difficult endeavor. ^^ * Erellisae smiles, and shakes her head slowly, thinking... "Well... I'd best get packing. We need to get ready soon, right?" :) Yes, while I'd like to ponder these events further, I'm afraid we do have a hero to rescue... * Jalanda arises. "It must feel ironic to you, being the savior of the past saviors, doesn't it?" * Erellisae thinks, looking up at the ceiling again. "...I've not got that far, really... I'm just going as well as I can." ^^ * Jalanda mumbles quietly, "...fate is indeed a strange thing..." * Erellisae smiles. "It is today, at least." ^^; There is one more thing... Hm? ^^ * Jalanda smoothes out her robe. "I believe you should show your stone to Mitsuo when he returns..." * Erellisae blinks, then nods. "Okay... why?" I cannot fully explain. He has a strange resonance with them. * Erellisae nods. "Alright." ^^ And.. Yes? :) * Jalanda shakes her head. "...No, it is really not of importance now; you should focus on what you have to do." * Erellisae blinks, and whines a little. "Now you've piqued my curiosity...!" ;_; * Jalanda smiles. "When the time comes that I am aware, you shall be as well, I promise. I am just as curious as you are, underneath it all.... still so much I do not know." * Erellisae nods, and starts to pack again. "Well... alright. See you outside." :D * Jalanda nods and bows a little, shifting her balance with her slightly uncoordinated step. "I will be waiting then... be at ease." * Erellisae smiles wanly once more, her mind obviously still wandering.
