X_x * Syri gets whapped and squeaks softly, chewing on Mitsy's nose. * Erellisae runs downstairs to the kitchen, a loud "Goooood Moooooooorning!" echoing throughout the inn as she does. * Mitsuo ows! O_o "Gzzgh! Wha-what I'm up I'm up...!" * Dill sqrks at Erel's loud call and flaps at Dylan * Rion mimics Dylan almost exactly, before flopping backwards again, laying in bed in his rumpled clothing.. * ...kwu. * Feray winces as Erel's loudness breaks through her dreams. She drags herself out of bed and begins to get ready for the day. * Syri curls up and goes back to his carro-nap. Random guests of the inn grk and fall over as Erel dashes past them... * Mitsuo sits up a bit and blinks a couple of times. * Dylan grabs Dill and puts him to one side, as he puts on slippers and shuffles downstairs * Rion rubs his eyes.. * ..sounds like a hurricane in the hallway... * Syri flails, falling off Mitsuo's face and onto his lap on his back, feet sticking in the air with a look of surprise. "KWUUU!?" O_o; * Erellisae streaks downstairs, practically skidding to a halt in front of the kitchen. ^_^ Mrs. Majarret sleepily flips pancakes in the kitchen. She looks up and smiles blearily as Erellisae enters. [Mrs. Majarett] Good morning, dear...what would you like? * Mitsuo sweatdrops, "Sorry Syri... ^^; *rubs him on the tummy to calm him down* Yeah, sounds like Erel's up..." * Syri kwus happily and flips himself over, nuzzling Mitsuo's hand. * Rion sits up again, trying to smooth out his rumpled shirt before throwing his vest full of various doodads on.. * * Erellisae sits down at the table, rubbing the last of the sleep out her eyes. "Mm.. some of everything, please!" :D * Feray stumbles down to the Inn's eating area, waving slightly to Dylan...she flops down into a chair next to Erel. "Good morning!" * Mitsuo nuzzles Syri a few more times and gets up slowly, starting to get ready for the journey. * Dylan arrives downstairs short time after Erel, and settles into a chair The innkeeper's wife laughs and starts dishing up a plate of pancakes, eggs, and bacon for Erellisae, then pours her a mug of hot cocoa. [Mrs. Majarett] Here you go, dear. * Slides the plate onto the table * Erellisae wave-waves to Feray, smiling, before her attention is somewhat diverted by the food in front of her. ^^; * Syri hops off the bed and bounces down the stairs, making sure to avoid getting in direct sunlight. ^-^ * Rion wiggles his toes, examining them for a brief moment before sheathing his feet in yesterday's socks and throwing his heavy-duty boots on after. * 'Morning alll... did you sleep well? Like a child. ^^ I feel ready to tackle the day! Mrs. Majarett, still sleepy, is not very talkative this morning, but is perfectly friendly as she doles out breakfast to the guests as they straggle in. * Syri hops on the table and gnaws on one of Erel's pancakes before stopping and looking at Feray. "Kwu?" * Mitsuo finishes getting ready and grabs his backpack before trudging down the stairs. ^^ H-heyy..! Syri! ;_; * Feray blinks at Syri in amusement. "Kwu to you too, little one." Mrs. Majarett chuckles. Well, Dill tried to smother me by sleeping on my face, but I'm very excited about seeing Sult. [Mrs. Majarett] All right little one, here's a few bites of your own.... *Places a dish on the floor for Syri * Syri blinks at Feray and turns to look at Erel. "Kwuuu!" ^-^ * Rion slips on his gloves, picking up his trusty sword and slinging his backpack over his shoulder, heads downstairs, his boots making loud thumping noises with every step. * * Mitsuo heads into the breakfast area and waves to everyone, smiling, "Good morning everyone. Sleep okay?" * Syri hops down and chews on the stuff on the plate * Mitsuo flops down in a chair and plops his backpack down on the floor. Mrs. Majarett winces as she hears thumps upstairs...plaster flakes from the ceiling as Rion charges down. * Feray takes a bite of her breakfast and waves idly to Mitsuo, giving him a thumbs up, as her mouth is full ^^ * Dylan orders a large pile of pancakes * Rion strides into the room, grinning a winning grin. * Goooooood morning! * Erellisae scarfs her food down, looking very satisfied as she finishes. ^_^ * Feray pauses in midchew and swallows, eyeing Rion in amusement. Mrs. Majarett blinks. Best to avoid the eggs and bacon this morning, they'll just make my legs leaden [Mrs. Majarett] You all seem very eager and ready to go this morning... *Smiles* 'Morning Rion * Rion tosses his backback and sword in a corner before turning a chair around and dropping down onto it. * * Dill bounces downstairs, landing on Rion's head and puffing merrily This must be the Rion I've heard so much about.. ^_- * Erellisae returns the cheery Good morning with one of her own. ^_^ So.. what's on the menu this mornin'? * Mitsuo eyes a sweet roll on the table and snatches it. ^^ * Rion is bounced upon. * Easy there bud. Heh, even Dill is excited, the spirit here must be infectous. [Mrs. Majarett] Whatever you like. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, sausage...your pick. I have some fresh made hot cocoa too, and some juice. * Dill looks down a Rion and flaps happily * Jalanda doesn't seem to be about the Inn at first, but soon the front door opens a she makes her way in from some unknown errand outside. She pauses a moment to shut it behind her, before slowly heading for the dining area. Puuff!! PUUUFF! __/=^_^=|__ * Rion blinks at Feray, appraising her a moment. * Hmm.. you're a new face. Whenabouts did you stroll into town? Mrs. Majarett gives Jalanda a friendly nod as she enters the kitchen. [Mrs. Majarett] Good morning, dear...breakfast? Last night. ^^ I decided to join this ragtag group... ^_- * Mitsuo raises an eyebrow, "Ragtag?" * Dylan polishes off his pancakes, eating alot faster than usual, then excuses himself as he goes upstairs to get dressed for the day [Mrs. Majarett] So where was it you were going...? Rag tag? Nah... you don't know who you're dealin' with. * Erellisae blinks, and deflates a little. "We're not rag-tag...!" * Feray points her fork at Mitsuo with a grin. "Oh come on. Tell me this doesn't qualify as ragtag?" * Jalanda nods once. "I could not turn down an offer to once again sample your wonderful cooking..." I'm ragtag now? Well... ^^; Mrs. Majarett smiles. [Mrs. Majarett] Pancakes and eggs okay? How about bacon? Any group that's got Rion Hollinger, #4 Ranked Adventurer (soon to be Ranked #1 Adventurer), is most certainly not ragtag. * Rion grins again. * * Feray sweatdrops. "I didn't meant it in an insulting way!" ^^; * Feray blinks at Rion. ^^; I know...I know! I'm just giving you a hard time. [Mrs. Majarett] Oh really? *raises an eyebrow and smiles* Well, Mr. Hollinger...to aspire to #1 when you're in PARM, of all places, is quite adacious! I certainly wish you luck. * Mitsuo smiles and finishes off his sweet roll. * Erellisae hmphs, looking mock-haughty. "I'm gonna get that #1 before /you/!" * Rion gives Feray the thumbs up, still grinning. * I know ya didn't, chicky. Smile. * Dill starts to chew on Rion's hair * Feray raises both eyebrows and pauses, gazing at Rion with her odd silver colored eyes. * Feray pointedly stabs a sausage. Mrs. Majarett chuckles quietly and shakes her head. * Jalanda has a seat with the bunch, casting glances to everyone as if making sure they are accounted for this morning. "...that would be fine." * Feray sticks it in her mouth and chews before smiling widely. ^^ * Rion looks crossways at Erel, oblivious to the chewing going on above. * Not likely, Sister. * Dill decides Rion's hair can be that tasty, and flaps over to Feray's plate * Feray smiles at Dill. "Hey there, little fella...want some of my grub?" We'll just have to see! ^_^ PUUUFFF!! *nods energetitcally* *sparkly eyes* * Rion commences shovelling, the food heaped on his plate beginning to rapidly vanish. * * Feray spoons some eggs to Dill. "Here ya go." ^^ * Dill slurps up the eggs and chews on the spoon, looking very happy, in a rather demented fashion * Mitsuo finishes eating and leans against the chair, watching everyone. * Rion continues talking, with his mouth half full. * Noph.. I don'tph haph to see, Ephrel. I knowph. * Feray blinks and sweatdrops again. "....uhm..don't eat the spoon!" Mrs. Majarett rolls her eyes at Rion's manners, or lack thereof. * Dylan walks back downstairs, now in his sturdy traveling gear, pencils and pens in his breast pocket, and a notebook hanging off his belt * Dill stops chewing on the spoon and licks at the plate briefly before flapping around Erel's head Mrs. Majarett collects the plates of anyone who is finished... * Erellisae turns slightly away from the spray of food from Rion's direction. "Eww..! At least I know how to eat!" So, when shall we be offf...? As soon as we're done eating, I imagine. ^^ * Erellisae giggles, trying to catch Dill on her finger. * Rion pushes his now empty plate away from himself. * Well, anytime's good now. * Jalanda partakes some of her eggs & panackes, along with some tea, but you notice she leaves quite a lot untouched. I'm ready. ^^ I need to stop by a store, first. Need some things. ^^ Mrs. Majarett frowns at Jalanda's lack of appetite, but does not comment. * Dill flaps around randomly then settles on Erel's head * Mitsuo looks around, "Hey...Syri...? Where'd you run off to? We're about ready to go..." Ms. Jalanda? Are you OK? * Rion leans back in his chair, balancing it on it's hind legs as folds his hands behind his head, waiting for the others.. * * Erellisae smiles, making sure Dill's not trapping her hair. >|:) * Syri blinks from underneath Erel's legs. "Kwu?" * Feray blinks and eyes Jalanda's plate. "Yeah, you seem to be missing the best part of the meal." ^^ Hey...Syri... ^^; Come up here...We should get going... * Jalanda notices the frown, and looks apologetically at the hostess and Dylan. "There's no need to worry over me... I don't require very much." * Feray rests her chin in her hand, waiting. ^^ * Syri jumps up on Mitsuo's head. "Kwuuuu!" * Dylan frowns slightly Mrs. Majarett nods. [Mrs. Majarett] Very well, dear. *smiles* Well, are you off then? Have a safe journey! I assure you, one does not need many bites to sense the quality of your cooking. You may yet master Lilly's crown... You really should eat more, it'll put some more flesh on those bones. I'll grab the guys bags from upstairs, if the ladies wish to make their own arrangements? * Mitsuo grins, "You might wanna hide out in my backpack again, Sy...We're gonna go outside pretty quick." Mrs. Majarett grins. [Mrs. Majarett] Go on, you flatterer! Better get going before the sun gets too high. * Erellisae blinks around at everyone. "We're gonna get going? Yaaay!" In a blink, she's streaked upstairs to grab her things, leaving a rather surprised Dill wondering where his support suddenly went. * Dill bounces off the ground and rests on the more stable ground of Dylan's shoulder * Feray pushes away from the table and stands, grabbing her pack... ^^ * Dylan sighs Spirits of the springs, let this one rest in your care.. * Dylan taps Dill with a slight sparkle-effect * Jalanda nods slowly, and wipes the corner of her mouth. "Yes, the time draws near.. we should make haste to our destination. Opportunity does not wait for idle folk." * Dill looks a little happier and a lot less sore * Dylan trundles upstairs, picks up all the guys bags left up there and trundles back down * Erellisae zips back downstairs, lugging a small pack onto her shoulders... and then notices she's Dill-less. "... oops... ^^; Sorry, Dill..." * Dylan flattens himself against the wall as he crosses Erel on the stairs * Mitsuo waits paitently for everyone to get their stuff together, and grabs an extra crossiant and apple from the table. ^^; * Syri leans over and tries to grab the croissant. * Feray rocks on her heels, finding herself inspired by Erel's hyperactiveness... ^^ * Rion swings his backpack back up over his shoulder and hefts his blade in the other, appearing ready to go. * * Mitsuo smiles and breaks off a piece of the crossiant for Syri. * Syri chews on it happily * Jalanda arises, thanking Mrs. Majarett again, and heads upstairs to claim her traveling bag. * Erellisae manages to just about avoid running headfirst into a wall, skidding around the corner into the kitchen. "C'monc'monc'monc'mon! ^_^" * Dylan hands bags to men and shoos them towards the door Let's get a move on, guys! Yeah...we should get going, else we'll be travelling in the dark at this rate. ^_- Although Syri would like that. Mrs. Majarett waves a cheerful good bye as they head for the door. Moooooove please, the faster we move the faster the ladies chase us. ...well, that is everything. Miss Feray, do you have yet to prepare for the trip? * Rion waves back as he heads out the door. * And ladies chasing us is a good thing... usually I just need to stop by the store. ^^ * Mitsuo heads outside, placing Syri in his backpack so the sun doesn't bother him. * Erellisae runs past Rion and out the door, stopping in the square and turning back to watch everyone, bouncing on her feet slightly. ^_^ Fair enough, getting out of the range of food will be a start.. * Syri kwus and curls up, snoozing lightly. * Feray tugs a weapon belt from her pack and fastens it around her slender hips. ^^ Next door, the shopkeeper at the general store is just arranging things on the shelves, awaiting his first customer of the day. * Dylan eyes Feray up and down * Jalanda watches Erel zoom out the door, and starts following her at her own modest pace... What do you do, Ms. Feray? You don't seem like a warrior or and 'adventurer? Me? Oh, I'm a hunter. I also do some farming. ^^ * Rion elbows Dylan in the side, saying quietly while grinning his ever present grin. * Go for it, stud. * Mitsuo trails behind the others, getting one last look at Parm. Ah. Good solid work. There's a good store across the square, why don't you stock up while I make sure no-one's left stuff behind. ^^ * Feray nods a bit and heads for the store, ducking inside...she nods to the storekeeper. "Hello." ^^ * Dylan absently clips Rion's ear. * Erellisae is getting...well... several last looks at Parm, streaking from interesting thing to shiny thing to cute thing, poking and prodding... ^^; * Rion ducks. * ^^; [Shopkeeper] Good morning! What do you need? * Dylan wanders back in to check the rooms for things such as Erel leaving behind shinies I want the wooden sword, leather vest, leather cap and sneakers. ^^ [Shopkeeper] Right then! *Rings up the purchases* Thank you. ^^ * Jalanda pauses outside the general store, awaiting Feray. She stares up into the sky once, before tucking a few loose strands of her brown hair into her hood. * Erellisae fidgets, trying to stand still and wait calmly for the others, and failing miserably. * Dylan pats Erel on the shoulder. * Mitsuo leans against a wall near the shop, waiting for everyone to return. * Feray sheathes the sword at her hip and nods, paying for everything accordingly before heading out. ^^ Don't worry, Ms. Erellisae, I'm excited too. [Shopkeeper] Anything else for you today, miss? * Feray falters at the door, grinning meekly. "No, thanks. Have a good day, sir." * Feray dashes out, blushing. ^^; * Erellisae whines out a long "C'moooooonnn...", then brightens as Feray comes out. "Let'sgolet'sgo!" ^_^ So, little ones, shall we be off? Sorry ^^; * Feray nods. Better late than never. Yes! Let's go. ^^ * Dylan wanders towards the appropriate gate of town, checking his map as he goes * Feray follows after Dylan.. ^^ * Dill puffs merrily to Dylan's ambulatory rythm Some early risers smile and wave to the party as they start out, heading for the edge of town.... * Erellisae streaks ahead of Dylan, holding the walking stick she's been carrying as you would a staff. o_O; * Dylan moos a tuneless tune under his breath Friendly town. ^^; * Jalanda follows the group out, nodding her polite farewells to the townsmen. Yeah, I noticed that... As they reach the edge of town, they see the rock-strewn hills and meadows ahead of them that are marked by Marna Road. Between two large boulders, the road begins.... People are people, if you keep your manners, they are nearly always nice I am glad I traveled to Parm. It shall be missed... * Erellisae looks out over the landscape, and takes a deep, slow, happy breath, letting it out in a sigh. "Finally..." ^_^ * Feray shrugs a little and smiles at Jalanda. ^^ "You speak as if you'll never come back. If you like it so much, why don't you?" I'm also glad I visited, but what I'm looking for wasn't there.. *sigh* another journey, more memories to tell my children. * Mitsuo smiles and breathes in deep, "Lovely scenery..." As they step upon the road, they see trees lining its sides for a short ways beyond the two boulders. The branches rustle gently in the wind. * Dylan sketches as he walks, only half an eye on the road. * Feray tilts her head to the wind slightly, letting it play across her face. ^^ The rustling branches almost seem to have a slight buzzing sound, perhaps due to the movement of the wind. If a cart or something is coming down the path, please tell me. * Mitsuo stops for a moment. . o O ( Hmm... ) Suddenly, four Marna Bugs fly out from among the trees! Erk! . o O (Hmm. I should have had more pancakes) Whoa! O_o * Erellisae alternately walks with the party, runs ahead and then back, or runs in circles around the rest of the group, seeing to have even /more/ energy than norma..-- o_O; * Dylan walks on oblivious * Feray stops in her tracks and draws her sword. "Dylan!" Dylan! Look out! Marna Bugs attack! Commence battle! * Rion draws his sword! * * Erellisae acks, and ducks behind Dylan, peeking out at the bugs. ;_; * Dylan drops his pen and book (which is attached to his belt) and looks up . o O (Damn! I hope my pen doesn't break!) * Jalanda halts her forward motion, and leans back from the bugs. "It would seem the first test is upon us." * Mitsuo unhooks the two thorn rings he bought from his belt and holds them in his hands, looking rather inexperienced in the art of battle. ^^; * Feray twirls her sword gracefully, playing it from hand to hand and grinning. "Well...let's see if we mesh well together..." * Dylan seems rather indifferent as his flips out his axe, swishing it absently * Erellisae clutches her staff, hiding behind Dylan and eeping as she nearly gets hit by a swish of Dylan's axe. ^^; * Dill squeaks as he's almost clipped by the axe and ducks into Dylan's backpack! * Jalanda stands her ground, facing the bugs, eeriely calm about the encounter. >> Rion's action first! Sorry, Ms. Erellisae, try not to move, I know just where you are. I'll squash these obstructions like the bugs they are. * Rion starts charging towards Bug 1, getting ready to swing! * >> Bug 1 declares next. Heads for Dylan, preparing to attack! >> Bug 2 declares. Starts to beat its wings in an attack on Mitsuo! >> Feray's turn to declare! * Mitsuo sweatdrops, "Uh...not this way! O_o" * Feray rushes for Bug 2, her muscles tensing for a combo attack! ^^ >> Erellisae is ready to declare! * Erellisae starts to concentrate on a spell! «ooc: i'll grope you, little missy! » >> Jalanda's turn to declare! * Jalanda lifts her pale right hand from the robes that hide it, as it begins to gather a brown magical aura... >> Bug 3 declares! Bug 3 is preparing to use a move on Rion! >> Mitsuo's declaration! >> Dylan's declaration! * Mitsuo eyes the Marna bug that's looks like it's about to chew off his face and concentrates, gathering a reddish aura into his hand, and balls it into a fist. * Dylan starts tracing a diamond in the air with his axe blade, slow now, but getting faster... >> Rion's first combo attack hits! 6 damage! * Rion winds up, lashing out at Bug 1, quickly following up with a deft lunge! * >> Second hits! 7 damage! * Bug 1 reels backward, squealing painfully! >_< BZZZZZT!! Hah! You're no match for me! Right on! * Bug 2 buzzes menacingly at Mitsuo... >#_#< O_o Uh oh... >> Feray's first attack misses! ^^; >> Second hits! 12 damage! * Feray grunts as she misses the bug the first time but her second upswing catches it! >> Bug 4 declares. Charges toward Jalanda! * Bug 2 flits away from Feray, then stops to taunt her buggily... "BZZRK BZZRK!!" ...then promptly gets hit smack in face with a dagger >< >> Bug 1 rushes at Dylan. First attack misses! Second attack misses! ^^; * Jalanda remains concentrating on her spell, casting a consterning glance at the oncoming bug. * Dylan doesn't flinch at the bug's slashes and thrusts, though one nicks his ear. >> Bug 2 attacks Mitsuo! >> First attack misses. >> Second hits! 10 damage! * Bug 1 buzzes quite angrily and swarms clumsily away from Dylan after failure #_# * Mitsuo manages to dodge the first attack, but is bitten on the shoulder anyway, "Gaghh!" >> Erellisae's action! Meanies! You shall face the wrath of my flame! :D * Erellisae peeks out from behind Dylan, holding her hands out, from which a spark flings towrds Bug 2 and erupts into a flame, Burn-ing them! * Bug 2 sinks its teeth in, its transparent wings beating against Mitsuo's ear! >8E Hey! Leggo! * Mitsuo flicks it off! >> Bug 2 suffers 20 damage! :o * Bug 2 is knocked off, and flies backwards across the battlefield! It shakes its buggy head and gets back to concentrating on evil buggy thoughts. #_# >> Bug uses Silk Orb on Rion. MOV -1! * Bug 2 can't think for long before having his insectoid legs sizzled thoroughly!! *_* >> Jalanda's action! Flesh and bone, become now as stone... Diggin'... * Jalanda thrusts her arm down, causing slabs of earth below her to break loose and rise up around her compatriots, before sinking in and becoming one with them. * Bug finishes shooting out the Silk Orb at Rion and finishes up with its signature battle taunt... "BUZZ!" >> All party members gain +1 DEF! * Rion looks nonplussed. * >_< >> Mitsuo's action! * Bug and his pals buzz incessantly......as ever The flame which blazes red, reside in me! * Mitsuo balls up a fist of burning energy, and throws it at the target. The ball expands into a latticework of red spears, igniting everything they touch as they seek to piece through the enemy! >> Mitsuo burns the bug for 22 damage! Bug 2 is done for! :O ^_- Serves you right for biting me. Alright! ^^ That's how to do it! My thought exactly. ^^ * Bug 2 emits a buggy shriek and lands on the back with its feet curled in the air! X-x *sizzle* >> Bug 4 attacks Jalanda! * Jalanda faces down the bug hurtling towards her, attempting to shift to the left at the last second. >> First attack hits! 8 damage! * Bug 4 drops to the ground, diving for Jalanada's ankles! #_# >> Second attack hits! 7 damage! >> Dylan's action! * Dylan is now swinging so fast, the diamond almost shines in the air, he then stops suddenly and slams a fist into the centre to the 'diamond'. * Dylan roars from his great lungs "Spirits below, I call upon you! Call you forth! At my Request! LET FLESH AND BONE BE ROCK AND STONE!!!!" >> Dylan casts Diggin'! All allies gain +1 DEF. * Jalanda gets knicked by the bug, making a few small noises as she twahps the bug away before it can cause more serious injury. * Bug 4 lands in a nearby bush, emitting a muffled "Buzzff!!" >> Rion's turn to declare! * Rion gets ready to unleash another quick combo on Bug 1! * * Bug 1 voices its disdain for Rion's intentions... "BUZZ!!" >> Feray's declaration! You okay, Ms. Jalanda? * Feray twirls and leaps at Bug 1, this time concentrating on hitting it both times! ...that was a bit more harsh than I forsaw. Attempts to critical attack Feray! * Bug 1 makes a sound as close to "eep" as an insect that can only say "BUZZ" can manage, and starts to wish it had considered the valid combat option of Evasion.... I suppose I'll have to go all out, I'm used to only looking after myself. One with a package to deliver, the others about the Job. [From Inside] Oh! Wonderful, show them in! The door opens, and the party sees a couple leaning over a desk scattered with papers. One is a man, about in the prime of his life, tall and blond. He stands by the desk, leaning over to examine a document. The other is a calm young woman, with short, aqua hair, sitting in a chair as she flips through a stack of papers. Her belly is slightly rounded; she appears to be expecting. [Clerk] Here they are! I'll be off now. *bows out and closes the door* ..... *_* Ohwowohwowohwowohwowohwowohwow! * Erellisae streaks up to them, jumping up and down and with a big, proud smile on her face. I read all about you and stuff and I so wanted to meet you and and go on an adventure and you're so cool and I came all the way from the other continent and snuck on a steamer and travelled to Parm and met up with all these people and and and and...! * Erellisae glomps Mullen and Leen tightly, with a loud "Yaaaaaaaaaay!". And I finally got to meet you! Yaaaaaaaaaay! ^_^ * Mitsuo blinks and steps back in slight shock O_o [Leen] O_o OOF!! . o O ( Ga...That's...that's...O_o ) * Rion blinks, looking at the two, his back immediately stiffening, instantly aware of who they are.. * The speech of greeting she was about to make dies as she is suddenly glomped by a young girl. * Syri stirs slightly, Erel's loud genkiness waking him up. Leen exchanges a confused glance with Mullen.... ^^;; Excuse me...could you not squeeze so...*runs out of breath* * Erellisae blinks and blushes, realising she forgot that particular detail. Letting go, she smiles happily. "I'm Erellisae! ^_^" * Mullen breathes heavily. * Dylan smiles and waits for the 4'3'' storm to pass [Leen] Yes, yes...don't hurt the baby... ^^; *Pats her stomach* Well, it's very nice to meet you, Erellisae. These are your friends? * Rion just kinda stands there quietly, trying to avoid any sort of attention. Though thanks to Erel, that appears to not be an issue. * * Jalanda pauses, not knowing whther to smile or laugh at Erellisae's greeting. * Erellisae nodsnods. ^_^ "We came about the job!" * Dylan laughs quietly, and steps foward * Mitsuo coughs a bit. ^^; * Mullen coughs a bit. "Do you think you can handle it?" [Leen] Well! That's wonderful. *turns to Mullen* Shall I call for some lunch so we can discuss this at length? That would be fine. Greetings, I'm Dylan of Laine. Milda would probably send her greetings, if she knew I was going to meet you. [Leen] We have had other interviewees...and we have to make sure we're hiring the right people. ^^; E...Excuse me. ^^; I'm actually here for a differenet reason... .oO( I just hope these people are more qualified then that stupid loser who was here 10 minutes ago. ) Oh? You know Ms. Milda? I'm very pleased to meet you, Dylan. Ahh, your from Laine. She's my Aunt. But, first Mitsuo here has a package for you I believe. [Leen] Oh? What is your name, son? Who is the package from? Its been ages since I've visited that place. Ah.. It's from Shirgan of New Parm...I'm Mitsuo Reese, Miss Leen. I'm not sure I've ever had the pleasure, although I have met Milda. A remarkable woman. * Mitsuo reaches into his backpack and pulls out a small package of some sort. * Erellisae watches Dylan handle the actual administration as opposed to the fangirl side of meeting Mullen and Leen. ;) * Jalanda finally bows respectfully to the couple. "I am Madam Jalanda, a seer of Zil padon. It is a blessing to see you both well." [Leen] Pleased to meet you. *takes the package* Hmmm, now what is this.... *Seeing the addressee is the director of the university, she opens the package carefully.* Leen nods politely and respectfully to Jalanda. [Leen] My pleasure. * Mullen directs everyone to a bunch of chairs in the room. "Please, have a seat." Leen's eyes light up. [Leen] Mullen, look! Such beautiful artifacts! * Mitsuo nods to Mullen and takes a seat. ^^ * Dylan settles himself carefully into a sturdy-looking seat The package contains several small but exquisite Angelou artifacts of varying types, several pieces of jewelry, some stones with bits of carving, some household implements. * Mullen turns and walks back towards Leen. "What interesting artifacts." * Erellisae sits down, looking somewhat dazed at being in the presence of two heroes she's read about... *_* * Rion quietly obliges, though he can't help but be curious at the mention of artifacts.. * * Mitsuo blinks, surprised, "...I didn't know Master Shirgan had artifacts like that..." [Leen] Hmmm....the enclosed note says they are a gift from Shirgan and the scholars of New Parm, as they have no museum that would do them justice.... Shall I inform our museum to pick them up later on? [Leen] It seems they were excavated from the Dom Ruins and were carefully stored in New Parm for many years. How nice! Oh, lunch is here.... *At a knock on the door* Come in. An assistant sweeps in, depositing a cloth-covered tray on the table, nods respectfully, then leaves. Under the cloth is an assortment of breads, meets, cheeses, and fruits. * Mitsuo ponders a bit at Leen's words, but shakes his head and smiles plesantly. * Mullen glances over the party. "Please, help yourselves." Leen hardly notices the food as she continues to sift through the artifacts. Finally she takes out a cloth-wrapped bundle.... [Leen] Oh my...the note here says this belongs to you, Mitsuo. Thank you very much, Mr. Mullen. ^^ * Dill divebombs the tray * Mullen blinks. * Mitsuo blinks, "Huh? I don't think anything there is mine..." * Erellisae doesn't go for the food, sitting on a chair and watching Mullen and Leen with sparkly eyes. "Wow..." *_* . o O ( D'oh! Dill!) * Jalanda seems a bit distant as she looks at the artifact collection's contents unfold... * Dylan gets up and extricates Dill from the tray, waggling a finger at him [Leen] Hmmm. *Scans the note* Shirgan asks if I might be able to tell anything about the artifact inside, then asks that I give it to you. Apparently it was left in trust for you till you were older, and he thought you might like to have it now... * Rion remains quietly seated, his eyes averted and his normal rambunctious nature somewhat subdued.. * ...An artifact...that was kept? I don't quite understand... * Mullen shakes his head a little. Leen shrugs. [Leen] Well, we shall see then, won't we? *smiles and unwraps the cloth* Look dear, its one of those creatures like that young lady had so many years back. * Mullen looks at Dill eat away at the food. Inside is a small, dark gray stone pendant...circular, with dull gold-colored engraving. There are artistic designs around the outside, and some kind of strange script in the center. * Dylan occasionally claps Dill on the back so he doesn't choke ...A pendant? It looks so old...O_o [Leen] Hmmm. I think we shall have to call in one of our experts for this....Mullen dear? Would you be so kind as to fetch her for me? I think she's in the library.... Alright. I wonder if she still has her pet too. Its been so long. * Mullen politely bows to the party. "If you will excuse me." [Leen] Who knows? that thing follows her everywhere sometimes, then disappears for weeks. *Smiles* * Mullen excuses himself from the room. * Mitsuo seems to be quiet, pondering. . o O ( I wonder if this...if this is something else Grampa didn't tell me about... ) A gift from your parents, perhaps? [Leen] Well! While we're waiting, perhaps I should tell you a bit about the job...? ...M...maybe. * Erellisae nodsnods, coming back to reality a little. "Okay!" :D * Dylan nods I could do with the money, and would be happy to help kind people like yourselfs. * Jalanda looks up from her musing as the conversation shifts. [Leen] Well, first of all, I must be certain of your character. I know Shirgan well, and he is a very good man; therefore I believe I can trust his apprentice. *nods to Mitsuo* And Dylan, any relative of Milda's I hold in high esteem.... [Leen] Why don't the rest of you tell me a bit more about yourselves, and what you hope to gain by a job in adventuring? * Dylan scratches the back of his head embarrasedly * Rion remains quiet, waiting for someone else, anyone else, to speak up first.. * I'm not really sure I can go with these people, Miss Leen. But they seem to be of a very kind sort. I think they can be trusted. :0 [Leen] Well then, I thank you for your opinion. ^^ * Erellisae turns to Mitsuo. "...you're not gonna come with us...?" ;_; * Mitsuo frowns a bit, "I don't think I can. After this, I'm supposed to head home." [Leen] Oh! Should you wish it, of course. * Dylan claps Mitsuo on the back. "Come on! I'm sure Leen and Mullen will cover for you if you want to go. It'll put hair on your back!" * Mitsuo balks, "Really? O_o He said that?" [Leen] He says in his letter that he believes he has taught you all you can. He says you have many questions, and he believes you might better be able to answer them here... * Jalanda has a seat, and folds her hands in her lap. "That is difficult to state with clarity. You could say that I am.. persuing a rather strong premonition from the Spirits in travelling here." I...er...I'd love to stay here...if I can... [Leen] A premonition? Really? I see you commune with the Spirits...do you sense good fortune, were this group to set out together? [Leen] *Smiles* Well, we shall decide that later, shall we? For now, let us discuss your friends' plans. If Ms. Erellisae agrees, if have no problem with taking responsiblity for her. She would be a useful addition. Plus Dill is ever so fond of her * Erellisae nods. "There's no way I'm /not/ going!" ^_^ If that was not the case, miss Leen, I would have remained in Parm... * Dill flaps around Erel's head, puffing defensively Leen nods. [Leen] Very well then. Such eagerness can be admirable...if it is kept in check. ^^; I must admit, one as eager as you saved the world not long ago... Leen nods again. [Leen] All right. And you, Mr. Hollinger? Have you anything to add? What drives you to seek employment? The challenge? I have heard good things about you, from New Parm's Adventurer's Society.... * Rion 's head snaps up at the mention of his name. * I uh... yeah.. and.. ^^;; Uhm.. I'm just.. uh.. looking to be the best, ma'am. ^^; . o O ( Hehe ) Leen chuckles. [Leen] Well, Miss Jalanda senses promise in this....so I shall accept that. Very well, I shall tell you what the job is, and perhaps you will understand why I am so careful, and why I require secrecy...I beg you, do not tell anyone these details, whether or not you accept the position! * Dylan frowns slightly * Rion nods, still seemingly a little off-kilter. * Carry on.. All right, Miss Leen. * Erellisae nodnods. ^^ [Leen] I am sure you know of Justin and Feena, correct? Few haven't. Of course! :D * Erellisae perks up, going sparkly eyed. "Do we get to meet /THEM/ too?!" :D [Leen] Well....that is really the question, now... ^^; I can't imagine something that could threaten the man to save the world. [Leen] You see, Justin and Feena had their tenth anniversary two months ago. As a celebration, they decided to travel west on a leisurely vacation. I believe they secretly hoped to travel to the frontiers, and perhaps explore the coastline of the Western Sea, a place they had not been.... An unexplored part of the world...? * Dylan eyes light up Unexplorered? Completely? [Leen] But...they were supposed to arrive in Talachia a month and a half ago, then send us word. We have heard no more of them, and none have seen or heard from them in many weeks. Leen nods to Dylan. [Leen] So they say. Hence the attraction for my sister and brother-in-law... * Rion 's eyebrows raise.. * Ah, how were they traavelling there? * Rion sits back again, thinking.. * * Mitsuo frowns a bit, "Oh dear...this could be serious..." [Leen] They planned to cross the Narrow Sea by boat, after first exploring the northern peninsula, north of Ardycee. They were to land in Talachia, but they never arrived there... I mean.. they probably just got side-tracked, right? [Leen] It is possible....but they have never failed to contact us before, not for more than a week. Whenever Feena and the Spirit Sword are together, it is quite easy for her to quickly contact me...but she has not done so. ... * Mitsuo frowns further. :/ [Leen] So you can see why we are worried. And there is another reason they must be found, though somewhat less pressing. . o O (This may be deeper trouble than I can protect the others against) * Erellisae looks sparkly-eyed, not quite grasping the situation fully. "So we get to explore a new continent and find and meet Justin and Feena?! I'm in!" ^_^ [Leen] The first Summit of Nations is to be held in Chandrinos in a few weeks' time. Justin and Feena were to attend. As it is, we shall have to send a substitute.... * Dill puffs in a subdued fashion.. Just then, there is a knock on the door. [Leen] Come in! * Sue opens the door. [Leen] Well, Erellisae, my dear....perhaps it could be fun, but it is also possibly dangerous. [Leen] Ah, Sue! Shall I introduce you to our guests? * Erellisae blinkblinks at Sue... and then recognizes her, too, and goes sparkly eyed all over again. *_* Sue.../the/ Sue? Sage Shirgan has sent several artifacts to us, and asks us to look at this one in particular. It belongs to Mitsuo. Do you know what it is? * Dill licks Syri's nose Leen hands the pendant to Sue. Puuf Puuf! Sure thing. K...kwuu! * Sue takes the pendant and looks it over. After a second she reaches into her pack and pulls out a magnifying glass. Leen turns to her guests as Sue examines the object. [Leen] Sue is one of our top students here at the university, and she is rapidly becoming quite the expert in archaeology. * Mitsuo sweatdrops and helps Syri into his backpack. ^^; * Syri hides from the big-eared freaks. "Kwu.." Really? Hmm.. * Dill flaps over to Erel and points at her, puffing [Leen] What do you make of it, Sue? Can you tell its age, or read the writing? * Puffy follows and flies around Erel. "Puff." Well * Erellisae giggles, watching the two puffies. ^_^ Given its design, the rate of decay, and its writing. I'd say its from the Angelou age. So it is something from Angelou... [Leen] I am not too terribly surprised...hmm... I do wonder where it came from. *glances at Mitsuo curiously* * Dill flaps over to Dylan. "Puff" And as far as the writing I can only make out one word. "Defender." Leen raises an eyebrow. [Leen] How curious... Joy. Everyone else gets a lung full, and you describe me as "Puff"? * Puffy flies over to Leen and lands on her shoulder. Defender...? Puff. Puff! * Dill nuzzles Dylan * Sue looks at Mitsuo. "I believe thats what it says." Leen sits quietly, thinking.... * Dylan laughs quietly and pets Dill reassuringly [Leen] I have an idea. I trust you, and I believe you can help us. I would like to hire you for this job. [Leen] Yes, Sue...many hold you in almost the same esteem that they do Justin and Feena, and you must admit, you have become quite good and diplomacy. I think you spend too much time reading my husband's books. *smiles* [Leen] Well, I would very much like it if you would go with them as far as Chandrinos... We'll get him and Feena back in perfect health so you canspend long hours scolding them. ^^ But his works are good! * Mitsuo smiles at Dylan's comment, "Of course they will, Miss Leen, You can trust them." * Sue nods. "Okay, I will go with them until Chandrinos." Leen turns to the others. [Leen] Can I count on you for this? And you, Mitsuo...what would you like to do? You could stay here, if you like...or you could aid your friends. You could learn much from Sue, I am sure. And I suspect you would like to know more about this pendant and where it came from....I admit I am curious too. Although I will say, Shirgan hinted in his letter that you have many secrets, and many questions...and he believed that not knowing the answers was impeding your studies recently. * Syri glances at Mitsuo. "Kwuuu..." ... . o O ( Wonder what Mom and Grandpa would say...? ) Well don't let me keep it. It'll be under my eye for years and you'll never get it back! ^_- Ms. Erellisae, I know you're happy. but do remember that in the end, everyone is just a person. Even if they are a talented and beautiful lady like Sue. It'll let me calm down. * Mitsuo gets up from his seat and heads towards the door, like Leen asked, carefully wrapping the pendant in a handkerchief and placing it in his bag for now. * Erellisae leaves, looking happy. ^_^ The door closes behind them, leaving the married couple to enjoy a quiet lunch. ^_^ * Rion exits the room, letting out a deep breath.. * Did you see Sue? What an auspicious day... * Mullen listens carefully while enjoying lunch. No kidding... May the Spirits guide us to our goals. * Erellisae is looking very cheery, smiling and still in a vague daze from meeting three of her idols on one day. *_* * Mitsuo shakes his head and smiles, "But we're going to see a lot of sights...possibly some that have never been seen before. Nothing bad about that. ^^" * Syri goes back into Mitsy's pack, going back to sleep. ^^; * Dylan ponders for a moment before going off to eat and explore the town ...I'd better write to my folks and tell them what's going on. ^^; Hey...uh...Erel? * Erellisae nods. "Yeah?" ^_^ And so our heroes journey forth, to the inn, where free food awaits! See you two back at the inn. ^^" So our journey now bends westward, to the setting sun and new ocean.
