The stars shine down on Erellisae as she corners Cassidy... * Erellisae looks rather more sullen than usual, motioning as she makes her way round the side of the inn, out of earshot of the others. * Cassidy quietly follows, curious as to what could require such discretion. * * Erellisae practically whirls around as they round the corner, trying to keep her voice low. "I need to know... I need to know what you and Gyan are trying to do. With the Teleport Orbs, with... with all of this!" * Cassidy blinks a moment.. * ..Well, uh, I'm not really allowed to just blab stuff.. why? * Erellisae looks about to say something, then shakes her head, pausing before speaking again. "Just... something big is happening, and we're getting tied up in it! What are we walking into?" Listen.. anything to do with those strange temple kooks is something I'm not involved with. They wouldn't know an Icarian if one came up behind them, kicked them in the rear. But, anything else, I can't really say. * Cassidy sighs. * But I promised Mitsuo that if ever I was drawing the group into some sort of danger I did know about, or that I would bring.. I'd let him know. * Erellisae reasserts her glare. "I'm happy with danger, but I've had too many questions thrown at me recently! Why're you collecting the teleport orbs? I need to know...!" * Cassidy looks away.. * What questions? Why do you need to know? * Erellisae slumps against the wall suddenly, sliding down to sit awkwardly on the floor as she covers her eyes with a sigh. "Because... because a month ago I was just a normal girl, and now..." ..and now you learned you were kind of alone.. * Erellisae looks up, and shakes her head, wiping a tear away. "No. That's not it. Everyone takes care of me, and looks out for me. I'm not alone. Kinda unique, though." ...but... a month ago, I knew who I was. A month ago, I was human. A month ago, I wasn't being hounded by the Church to be some sort of mediator. And now people tell me Gaia's reviving and I have to talk to Icarians and everything's going /wrong/... * Erellisae hides under her hair, hugging her knees closer to her body. You never were human.. you just thought you were. But learning that you weren't didn't change things for you. It's these other people.. and I have nothing to do with those people.. * Erellisae practically shouts out. o_O "It changed /everything/! I don't know who I am, why my parents lied to me! Somewhere out there's a home, a place I come from, but I don't know where!" ..I grew up on the streets. I had no home until Master Gyan adopted me. I don't know where I'm from too; and just because you have pointy ears doesn't make the predicament any different. I have just as many questions.. * Erellisae lapses into a sullen silence, hugging her knees for a time. ..Listen.. I'm really, really sorry, Erel.. * Cassidy shakes her head. * ..but I don't have the answers to your questions. * Erellisae lets go a long, broken sigh, and looks up, wiping her eyes as she watches the horizon, before speaking quietly. "You can answer one, though." What one is that? * Erellisae looks sidelong at Cassidy, the remains of her tears glinting in the half light. "The samurai told me a group of people were going to try to destroy Gaia without the Icarian's help. Is that what you're doing? Is that the greater good you talked about?" * Cassidy considers for a moment, before shaking her head again. * ..No. Not unless Master Gyan has another division of his forces working towards that end. But I don't think he does. * Erellisae doesn't respond immediately, then shakes her head in irritation. "Aw... I thought I'd at least be right about that..." * Cassidy looks down.. * Sorry.. * Cassidy glances at Erel, breaking into a grin. * You'll just have to keep guessin'. * Erellisae nods, smiling a little wanly and looking to the horizon. "And I guess there's only one place I'll find answers to any of this..." * Cassidy looks off in a similar direction. * Where's that? * Erellisae takes out the Medallion from a fold of her kimono, and tosses it in the air, before catching it and looking through the hole in the center with one eye. "... Home." * Cassidy shrugs, grinning. * Pfft.. I saw that one comin'. * Erellisae deflates slightly, her ears drooping. "Okay, so it's cheesy... but it's true, too. If I can find the Alentian village... they can tell me about my parents, why they left... about what might happen..." Well.. I do know that a certain blue-haired adventuring boy would tell you that there's nothing that can stop you from doin' the things you feel you gotta do. He'd also probably slip in a couple Chickie-boos for good measure. * Cassidy leans her head back against the tree, sighing. * * Erellisae sweatdrops, but gets to her feet a little shakily, still looking slightly upset despite her smile. "Guess I just have to keep going. Who knows... along the way, you might find something out." * Cassidy shakes her head slowly. * ..I don't think so.. I know about all I'm gonna know, and my home is with Master Gyan, now.. * Erellisae shakes her head, waggling a finger. "Don't say that! If there's something you don't know yet, the answer's gotta be there /some/where. It's just a matter of finding it." * Cassidy looks at the elder girl, smiling. * Now that's exactly what you need to be thinkin' about your own situation, right? * Erellisae shrugs, nodding. "I s'pose. Nothing I can do about it right now, anyway, so there's no point worrying." * Cassidy frowns. * You don't sound too, uh, optimistic. * Erellisae lets out another sigh, then rubs her eyes a little. "Just recovering from being attacked and finding out unpleasant things. Gimme a full day's rest and I'll be back to normal. Contrary to popular opinion I /do/ get serious sometimes." ^^ I dunno.. take it from me, seriousness is a drag. I'm beginnin' to miss being Rion. Gotta be serious /sometimes/... but I'll be okay. ^^ * Cassidy nods. * Well.. keep your chin up. * Erellisae nods, then sits down, propping herself up against the tree. "I think I'll wait a while before going in... I'm not quite done thinking yet." Kay.. ..Anything else you'd wanted? * Erellisae shakes her head. "I'm done... there'd have been a lot more if you'd answered yes about Gaia." ^^; Sorry, Erel. Gaia's not my mission.. at least, not yet. ^^; * Erellisae leans back against the tree. "Well... let's just see what happens." ^^ * Cassidy nods, smiling. * About the wisest thing any of us could do. * Erellisae shakes her head. "I'm not wise... just imagine what my back's gonna feel like in the morning. ^^; There's just nothing else to do, right now." Well, sleeps not such a bad plan, you know. ^^; Beds are alot softer than trees. ^^;; And who knows when we'll get to sleep in real beds again? * Erellisae nods. "I'll come in at some point. I just gotta think a little longer." Just don't stay up all night. I'd be a shame if we'd have to get Dylan to carry you in our travels tomorrow. ^^; * Cassidy grins. * 'Cause I'd like to get carried, if at all possible. * Erellisae stares off into the distance, blinking, before sweatdropping heavily, and raising an eyebrow at Cassidy. "And thus was the romance between the eight foot cow and the 14-year old operative forged?" o_O; * Cassidy balks at the thought, her eyes bulging out. * Ack.. heavens no! O_o * Erellisae looks greatly relieved. "Phew... I'll have to remember that line for the future, though." ^_^ * Erellisae shakes her head. "Well, either I come in and sleep or I fall asleep out here." ^^; I'm goin' in. Like I said, beds are a rarity. ^^; * Erellisae nods. "... thanks. And..." * Cassidy halts for a moment.. * ..and? * Erellisae stares off into the middle distance. "You're not alone, either. Everyone babies me sometimes, I know, but... everyone needs babying, too. Don't be afraid to ask for help." * Erellisae grins wanly, eying Cassidy. "It's what friends are there for." * Cassidy smiles warmly. * You know..? I'd like that sometime. Good night, Erel.
