Session Start: Sun Mar 10 21:19:05 2002 *** GMAmy changes topic to 'Grandia: New Horizons | Chapter 20.3: Erellisae Lude | Location: Toroli village, 9 am, June 29 | Lude Start' ==Session Start== The sun has been up for a couple hours when a woman's face peers out the window and spies Erellisae sitting under a tree, where she has apparently been all night. The face disappears, and a moment later the cottage door opens, and she emerges, heading for Erellisae... * Erellisae appears to be asleep, despite what she promised Cassidy. ^^; The woman, who is dressed in a homespun kimono-like robe with an apron tied over it, appears to be in her late thirties, with mousy brown hair tied back in a bun. She leans down and gently shakes Erellisae's shoulder. "Wake up, dear..." * Erellisae jumps slightly, then blinks, looking rather blearily around while holding her back. "Ohh... uhm.. morning...?" She rubs her eyes, and looks up. The woman chuckles. "Yes, morning. Have you been out here all night? Why don't you come in and have some breakfast with me?" * Erellisae nods, rubbing her eyes a little more and slowly working her way up with a wince as her back cricks. "Oooow... /that's/ why I didn't wanna sleep out here..." "Bye the way, my name's Jima. And yours?" She leads Erellisae to a little table set up in the garden, with fresh-baked biscuits and fruit on it. * Erellisae walks along, regaining her bearings as she wakes up. "Uh, Erellisae. ^^ Sorry about waking you up last night...' The woman shrugs, taking a seat at the table. "Oh, it's all right. You probably don't know much about our village, if anything; it's called Toroli, and we have a very old and strong bond with the Spirits here. My husband Dyrim felt the Spirits wished him to help you." * Erellisae blinks, tilting a head on her side as she sits down. "Bonded? How?" "Well, when most places forgot the Spirits and the ancient bond the people of Angelou had had with them, the people who lived where our village is now apparently remembered. We pay the Spirits homage, and they show us favor." The woman smiles. "It seems the Spirits like you, too." She points over Erellisae's shoulder, where a small, golden sphere of light hovers. * Erellisae blinks, looking behind her. "Aww... wow." * Erellisae reaches out a finger, a little tentatively. :D Jima nods. "That's a Sun Spirit. They usually only come out on really bright days like this." The Spirit rests on Erellisae's shoulder, and she feels a warm tingle as she brushes the Spirit with her finger. * Erellisae giggles slightly. "I thought it might be... but it's strange, especially so close to the big city, right?" Jima nods. "Yes...but we're rather closed off by tall hills here, so most traffic from the city tends to pass us by. It's a quiet life...at least these days it is. Anyway, I'm terribly sorry, but I couldn't help but see some interesting things among your packs...you have a black communicator box?" * Erellisae nods. "Yeah. ^^ We're on a kinda adventure, and we've gotta keep in contact with some friends." :D Jima nods, spreading jam on a biscuit. "Well, in case you need to get any messages, we do have a receiver in town. It's over near the Spirits' Garden, on the outside of town." * Erellisae nods. "Thanks a lot... I should do that soon." ^^; * Erellisae manages to shake away the last of the sleepiness, and looks around with a yawn. "So... how do the Spirits bless you?" She nods. "Whenever you're ready. I'm going to let your friends sleep a while...you arrived very late, and you looked tired. But you didn't look terribly comfortable out under that tree. ^^; " Jima shrugs. "They grant us a good harvest, freedom from sickness, healthy animals, and mild winters..." She smiles. "Some say it's because of the devotion we showed them in the past, when the village was in great peril, and we asked the Spirits for help, when almost no one did so anymore." * Erellisae nods, looking around. "It's nice and peaceful... reminds me a little of back home." * Erellisae looks a little silent for a while, then thinks. "Uhm... do you know of any other villages in the area? Any that... keep to themselves a lot?" ^^; She shakes her head. "I'm afraid not, dear. :/ As I said, we're rather isolated. There isn't much else close by." Jima finishes up her breakfast and stands, wiping her hands on her apron. "Well dear, I'll leave you to take your time finishing up. ^^ Seems you have a lot on your mind. I won't ask what it is, but perhaps whatever brought you here, it may have been the Spirits' intent. And if so, perhaps there is more they wish for you. It can't hurt to ask them. ^^ " * Erellisae nods slowly. "Okay, thanks." :D * Erellisae then stands up, intending to find the reciever and look around town a little. ^^ Jima goes inside, quietly so as not to wake the others. ^^ Erellisae finds mostly several small but nice houses. There's a bakery, a smithy, a tailor, a tavern...all the usual small village stuff. The main road leads to the south, where she can see tall, leafy trees towering above the thatch rooftops. * Erellisae looks around slowly and a little worriedly, then sighs quietly. "No point worrying, remember?". She slowly wanders down the road to the south, looking for the Garden that was mentioned. ^^ At the end of the road, a low gate in a small fence divides the town from the edge of the Garden. It's a very green place, with rocks and grass and a small stream flowing through it, as well as several kinds of bushes, trees, and flowers... Here and there, more Sun Spirits can be seen. Small, dim, bronze Spirits hover above a few of the rocks, green ones play in the leaves of the trees, silver ones float on the breeze. There are not many, really, but Erellisae has never seen so many at once. * Erellisae looks around slowly, smiling at the scenery and looking decidedly happier. She watches the spirits in peace for a while, before looking for the reciever. ^^ Near the entrance to the gardens is the receiver box, looking somewhat out of place, but artfully surrounded by ferns and bushes. * Erellisae grins, and heads towards it, fishing the box out her bag as she does. * Erellisae drops her bag next to it, and works on getting the messages. ^^ The message box goes into the receiver, downloads the messages, and beeps, signalling Erellisae to remove it. It looks as if there's one message on it, from Sue... * Erellisae heads back to the garden and sits down, carrying her bag with her, before resting back. After a bit of peace, she decides to play the message. ^^ *Whirr, whirr, buzz* [Message from Sue - Play] *Beep* [Sue] Hi, it's Sue! Um, sorry guys, just the one message for now, and it's a private one for Erellisae. ^^; So anyway, hi Erel, I wanted to respond at length to your previous message, since you seemed kind of upset... * Erellisae perks up slightly, her ears flicking as the grass brushes them. She bites her lip, and listens on. [Sue] Anyway, you said you found out that the Lumians had left Liete alone in Alent for thousands of years. Let me explain a littler about how and why that happened, according to what Liete told me... [Sue] The Lumians were running out of time. There wasn't time to carry all the books and records out of Angelou's capital before Gaia destroyed it, so they came up with their plan to preserve Alent. But Alent needed a caretaker, to make sure those records and that knowledge stayed safe and intact for when future generations would need it...so they chose Liete to guard it. [Sue] But they ASKED Liete before they did so, and she agreed. She confided in me that originally, perhaps she did not realize the extent of what she had agreed to. She ended up having to remake herself, practically alter her personality, to keep from going crazy in the solitude. She made holographic images of herself that she could talk to, and pretend they were real. * Erellisae looks worried, and stares off into the sky as she listens. "But... still, though..." [Sue] She could have lost her sanity, but she didn't. She was a strong person, and she realized that very few would have been able to survive those centuries alone, and the process of being reborn and having her memories transferred in order to make her effectively mortal. She never regretted what she had agreed to do. [Sue] If you think you need to apologize to Liete, Erellisae, I'm sure you'll find a way to do so. But whatever your ancestors did, it's not your fault. It wasn't a choice you made, and therefore you should not feel responsible for it. If you ever do meet Liete, I'd like you to stand tall and proud before her, knowing you are related, however distantly, to a once great race. * Erellisae looks down at the box, looking a little rueful. * Erellisae sighs, looking off to the horizon again, smiling wanly. [Sue] You're your own person, Erellisae, and I hope you realize how important you are to those around you. So keep your chin up! You'll get where you're going, and you'll find the answers you need, I'm sure of it. Take care! *Beep* [Message from Sue - complete. Zero messages remaining.] * Erellisae leans back against the grass again, her brow furrowed slightly in thought before a spirit floats across her view and she giggles again, reaching out a hand for it. ^^ The Spirit comes close, zipping in a circle around Erellisae's hand. She feels sunny warmth touch her fingers before it floats away again. * Erellisae lets the spirit float, then yawns again. --; She looks around with a little grin. "Well... this place is more comfy than a tree, that's for sure..." * Erellisae lays back, trying not to think about things too much, as her bad sleep from the night before takes her over again and she slips into a fitful nap. -- A small handful of Spirits floats around her as she falls asleep, and her dreams grow less troubled, and her sleep more peaceful, as the morning passes slowly on. ==Session End== *** GMAmy changes topic to 'Grandia: New Horizons | Chapter 20.3: Erellisae Lude | Location: Toroli village, 9 am, June 29 | Lude End' Session Close: Sun Mar 10 22:23:36 2002
