Mikari has spent the day hanging out in the Tenkali village with the rest of the party, waiting for the weather to clear so they can be off to explore the ruins. The previous night was dreamless; so far so good, Mikari thinks as she prepares for bed... * Mikari yawns in a manner that might pass for "cutely"... assuming one lived in a backwater village, knew nothing of her propensity for getting drunk, and had never met Erellisae OR Cassidy. * Mikari tosses the heaviest items of her belt over the foot of the bed, saving the dagger for her "teddy bear." * Mikari flops into bed and moans a little from fatigue, then goes to sleep. Mikari's bed looks inviting from its corner, despite the prospect of having a knife hilt poking into her side all night long. Sleep finds her soon after she falls into bed, the rain dripping steadily outside... Mikari's only dreams are of whiskey and treasure-filled ruins for some time, but then a dark haze descends upon her dreams as awareness returns. * Mikari sprawls out with two of her four limbs as she sleeps, in random positions. * Mikari rustles uncomfortably as it lays itself out before her subconscious. A fierce pounding is heard from Mikari's bedroom door. "Mikari, wake up!" * Mikari grumbles and makes a muffled snarl. She reaches for her pillow, but... it seems to be gone. * Mikari sits up and looks around, a little confused. She gets up slowly and walks towards the door. "Mikari, c'mon, open up!" The voice sounds like Feray's. * Mikari opens the door, readying a question along the lines of "What the hell 'r you doin'??" on her lips. Feray, Nathan, and Jalanda are standing on the doorstep to the empty cottage Mikari was given to sleep in. Nathan casts furtive, wary glances over his shoulder. All three are armed. "Mikari, we've got trouble. Uh...I think somehow we did something to piss off the natives. We have to get out of here." Mikari can hear angry shouts and a loud crash of brush from the jungle outside. * Mikari looks around skeptically, wondering what they could possibly have done while they were asleep. You know that thing we think Feena and Justin awakened in the ruins? It's coming here, tonight. The villagers seem to think it has something to do with us being here. We'd better get out of here before it arrives...or before the villagers decide to make it go away by killing us or something. Uh... okay... C'mon, move it, Whiskey Girl! *Looks antsy* * Mikari gets the sense that something is not right here, and reflexively starts to quickly walk towards the front door. As soon as she can, she opens it to have a look at this impending doom. As Mikari looks outside, she sees the brush of the jungle shaking violently. Moments later, screams erupt from the villagers on the jungle floor below, as a huge black monster with too many teeth, claws, eyes, horns, and a great deal of dripping slime, all placed fairly haphazardly over its two-story tall body, emerges from the jungle, roaring impressively. * Mikari sizes the monster up, calmly. She then lets her head droop and puts her palm to her forehead. ....Ugh... Bad vodka again.... * Mikari arches up slowly, stares at the monster for a moment, and then shouts. "Can'tcha let a girl havva little SLEEP??!?" The monster reaches down, grabs a screaming Tenkali in its jaws, and shakes him like a dog shaking a rat. It crunches the hapless man up in a few bites, swallows, then looks at Mikari and roars again, intimidatingly. * Mikari stares back at it, unmoving. Y'know, eatin' local natives'll give ya bad breath. Not that you don't already havvit an'way... phew! * Mikari waves her hand at the monster mockingly. The monster blinks at Mikari, seeming confused. Its beady eyes spark into a rage. Roaring again, it reaches for Feray, who yells and tries to run, clambering down the ladder toward the ground. The monster swipes her off with its claws, knocking her to the ground. * Mikari sighs in annoyance at this, then runs up behind the monster and starts to scale his side, using her grappling hook as a pickaxe. When she gets up far enough, she jams it in the creature's ear. :P The monster roars and tries to shake Mikari off, whimpering in pain. ;_; Mean Mikari! It lashes out with its claws, accidentally slamming Nathan against the side of the cottage and squishing him. Nathan pancake. Howdya like that, eh? ^_^ * Mikari rides him like a bronco, holding on to its ears while her legs are shaken wildy behind her, but miraculously maintaining her grasp. The monster sobs big monster-y tears as Mikari messes up its 'do. ;_; It steps on Cassidy while stomping about wildly. * Mikari frowns in disapproval at her flat friends. Gah, I KNOW yer fine. Come out NOW! Yer not foolin' anybody! There is a low, growling sound off in the distance, that shakes Mikari's very bones. Suddenly the monster underneath her vanishes, dropping her to the forest floor. She bounces. O_o * Mikari oofs. Mmmf. Can we get to th'enda this thing? The part where I say "Ohhh, dayamn, that wuzza scary nightmare, I'm glad all my friends aren't REALLY squishy and sticky right now"? Then I c'n get me a snack and go back t'bed... The dream around her sulkily crumbles into black fuzz. Mikari drifts aimlessly in unconsciousness for a few moments, then slowly reaches the land of wakefulness, her head hurting vaguely. * Mikari mumbles and holds her head. "Ugh... I gotta stop mixin' local food with exper'mental drinks..." * Mikari looks around the room. She suddenly frowns and gets up to check the other's beds. Outside, the night is quiet, the rain having lessened some to a steady drizzle. Mikari soon finds the various cottages where her friends have been housed, tiptoeing so as not to wake the owners of those residences that were already occupied... * Mikari peers in and looks around suspiciously. The beds are all unoccupied. O_o The sheets look rumpled, however...as if they were not only slept in, but tossed and turned in, as well. ...Aw, hell... * Mikari sighs and immediately runs back to her room to get the rest of her supplies... it's gonna be a long night. Mikari hurriedly packs up her things, then goes to follow the trail of muddy footprints in the freshly moistened ground, leading deep into the jungle.... * Mikari had been wondering where they led off to, but is relieved to find it will be no challenge to track them under the current conditions. She heads off down the road, uncommonly worried... Mikari heads off through the jungle, having little difficulty despite the darkness of the night; her experienced tracking skills serve her well. Ahead in the trees, she can feel something dark and threatening waiting... ==Session End== *** GMAmy changes topic to 'Grandia: New Horizons | Chapter 24.8: Mikari Tells It Like It Is | Location: Tenkali Village, evening, July 4 | Lude End' Session Close: Sat Jan 12 01:37:28 2002
