The ancient corridors are disturbed for the first time in many years by various pairs of feet, all searching for each other in the confused aftermath of the troubling dreams that brought them here, with no memory of their journey. Mitsuo and Erellisae search, hand in hand, for the others, while Nathan and Feray are about to go off and do the same. The others have yet to be found in the maze of rooms and corridors... Good thing it's a warm climate. If any of the others have had this happen, they might catch a cold. * Erellisae looks around slowly, shivering slightly still from the aftermath of the nightmare. "Any idea where we are in this place...?" * Nathan walks quitely behind Feray, not feeling talkative just now * Mitsuo glances about wearly, "...No idea...I feel like we've been going in circles..." * Feray leads the way, barely even looking up to see where she's going, instead looking at the ground. * Jalanda pads along the ruined hallways, her crystal ball the only company, as she seeks the many shattered pieces... * Erellisae looks around, glaring at the walls. "Then... the easiest way to find everyone would be..." * Mitsuo blinks at Erel a little, "...What's your plan?" * Dylan walks thoughtfully, his heavy footsteps bouncing of the walls... * Jalanda turns a corner, her eyes downcast at the sphere, a pointed ear perking at the sound of heavy footfalls. Turning a corner as they grow louder, she finds herself in Dylan's path. * Erellisae grins, and waves her finger at Mitsuo. "It's morning, right? What do I do every morning? Might wanna cover your ears, this place seems to echo a bit." ^^; Yeah, but you don't wanna wake up whatever brought us here, do you? * Feray sighs tiredly and coughs, wrapping an arm around her stomach. * Erellisae stops taking a deep breath rather abruptly, and looks thoughtful. "I... suppose that's a good point." ^^; * Nathan resists the urge to ask Feray if she's okay, figuring she doesn't want to hear that right now * Dylan smiles and waves to Jalanda.. looking a little odd in his pajamas Ah! Ms. Jalanda! You came here too? * Mitsuo coughs a bit, "...We'll find our way out eventually...We just gotta be patient..." * Erellisae nods, then looks around. "Well, if we pick one way to go and stick to it, then we should get out." * Jalanda raises her head at his approach, studying him a moment. "Yes, it would seem this was the portent I felt coming... the dreams have split us apart..." .....we should just bust these walls down... I'm glad to see you are alright. * Dylan scratches the back of his head.. * Mitsuo nods, looking very tired, "Right...Okay. So...let's keep going this direction." Suddenly, Feray bumps into a small figure ahead of her. O_o ....gack! Cassidy oofs and falls to the ground with a thump! * Nathan blinks O_o * Feray staggers a little and blinks. Any ideas on where to find the others, Cass? * Erellisae grabs Mitsuo's hand again, near-dragging him towards the doorway. She's very focused on either getting out of here or finding whatever brought her here. ^^; * Mitsuo acks as he's dragged. ^^; No. You're certain everyone is here, though? This is too much of a coincidence. Why bring three of us instead of all? * Jalanda bows her head. "There's no need to worry... painful as though the images must have been." ...besides, I saw Mitsuo's tracks. ^^; Probably be best to follow those then, yes? Well, uh, see... I would, but, uhm.. Or at least that it runs into me and not someone else. * Dylan motions for Jalanda to lead the way. * Jalanda draws closer to Dylan, walking ahead of him. he might notice the traces of where Jalanda might've been crying some time ago. * Feray gets another downcast look as she realizes she screwed up, turning and heading back the way she came.... As Dylan and Jalanda walk, they hear voices in the distance... * Cassidy shrugs, obviously having missed something, and falls in behind the towering woman. * * Nathan follows along behind again, feeling responsible for Feray losing track of Mitsuo * Dylan frowns for a moment, and but then returns to keeping an eye out for trouble * Feray grits her teeth against another cough. ... * Jalanda pauses, listening closer, and continuing in a slightly different path. "...this way..." ..You two seem particulary peachy today.. * Erellisae walks with Mitsuo into the next room before stopping rather abruptly and sweatdropping at the rather large hole in the wall. ^^; * Mitsuo blinks several times, "...What in the world is that?" Nightmare brought up a lot of different things for me * Erellisae eyes the hole. "I... think a pissed-off Feray. ^^; Uhm..." As Jalanda and Dylan get closer to the sound, they can recognize Mitsuo and Erellisae's voices... I'm hungry. * Dylan waits a moment after the spell passes, before charging into the room! * Nathan slides into a combat posture A greenish light appears in the darkness of the opening, and the creature, whatever it is, stops, hidden in shadows as it surveys the party it has drawn to it during the night... The monster sees a rush of flame as a panicked, angry little mage reacts to its presence. Expecting an attack of the kind, the huge creature dodges neatly out of the way, at an oddly fast pace. O_o Hmmm, unsettling trend Hi there! Spirits, it's fast... We're selling life insurance! Time to die! :D The creature turns its luminescent green eyes on Feray. A low hiss emerges from it. * Feray hisses back. * Erellisae grrs, similarities playing on her mind as she immediately starts to charge up another spell, glaring all the while. Hey Buddy! Time for a Nap! * Nathan takes position in front of the mages * Jalanda tenses as things are set into motion. "Twister of vision... your final dream shall be only an eternal nightmare. This I prophesize." * Mitsuo pulls out his rings, glaring at the monster. The creature roars low in its throat, making the walls shake. A few heavy footsteps carry it out into the chamber, where a slant of light from a crack in the ceiling falls on it. * Erellisae snarls, the corona around her hands getting brighter. "Translation, you're dead for messing with my dream." * Mikari buries her face again. "Oh, great." It's huge. It's black. It has glowing green eyes with...strangely human irises and pupils. Other than that, nothing is certain, as it seems to change from moment to moment, whenever they blink... Strange lookin' thing, ain't it? And coming from a shapeshifter that says something S'okay. It's big. Gives us more to stab. * Mitsuo gulps a bit. It has rippling, changing skin, scales, fur, slime....now it has pincers, now it has claws, now teeth. It has two legs, four, eight, none. Its snout resembles a wolf now, and now it has the mandibles of a spider, and the vinelike tendrils of a plant. It shifts with every play of the light, every trick of the eye. If you have something to say, I'd advise saying it now, whatever your are. ... * Erellisae backs away slightly, not breaking sight with the creature. * Feray twitches. ...wait a second The thing only stares at them. Then it lets out a low roar....and suddenly their minds are filled with images, images that came from dreams. Their friends, lying bloodied, eyes staring, as the rain falls down unabated... Agh--! AK! X_x * Feray grabs her head and snarls. * Mitsuo holds his head, wincing! It's /not real./ * Erellisae clutches her head and screams. ><; I am not OK with this! * Feray jerks her gaze up to the monster and bares her teeth. The thing begins to advance, almost grinning at their pain. * Jalanda narrows her eyes at the beast, as if in an intense staredown. "...compared to that you are nothing." >> Nightmare Demon appears. Begin battle! * Nathan tries to pull his attention back to the creature, realizing what its trying to do * Dylan slams a fist into the floor, gritting his teeth, using the pain to focus.. * Mikari wincing slightly, but able to convince herself more easily than the others that it's not real, due to her chance immunity to the previous nightmare... She unsheathes her dagger. * Erellisae drops to a crouch, before shaking her head hard, the corona of fire flaring up around her again. "That's IT...!" You're going to die. Welcome to YOUR nightmare. >> Cassidy's declaration. * Feray snarls and levels her sword at the demon. * Cassidy readies Dazzling Blade! * * Mitsuo lets out a shakey breath, and focuses on the battle ahead. ...These images...they will not happen...I won't let them happen... Ugh. I'm not about t'back down to any hangover, and that includes YOU, ya bastard child of a giant frog and black slime... >> Mitsuo's declaration. * Jalanda raises her pale hand from her robe, clenching it. "...there is but one reality that you should concern yourself with, shadow..." * Mitsuo glares at the monster, and balls up both of his hands into fists, a purplish aura seeping from them. * Erellisae stands up, holding onto her pendant tightly as she takes stock of the situation. >> Erellisae's declaration. * Erellisae stands fast, pointing her staff toward the monster. Prepares to unleash a special move at Mikari! * Mikari steps back, looking slightly concerned. >> Mikari's declaration Hell if you're gonna lob somethin' at ME... * Mikari prepares Treeline Leap! >> Feray's declaration. * Feray's eyes begin to flare with a silver glow... >> Jalanda's declaration. * Jalanda unflexes her hand, as it begins to shape vague tendrils of dark energy. "Spirits of Earth, I seek your strength..." >> Dylan's action! * Dylan rushes the thing, slamming a mighty blow with each hand! >> Dylan executes the Old 1-2. 49 damage! >> Mikari's action! 'Hell with this... Catch ya later! * Mikari instantaneously leaps sideways and dives outside the perimeter of the battlefield, ditching everyone temporarily! >> Mikari executes Treeline Leap! Mikari is speeded up temporarily; immune to all damage till her next action! >> Nightmare Demon's action! Bristling, it executes Nightmare Wave on Mikari. A steady stream of horrible nightmarish images and sounds rushes past where Mikari WAS, but as she is no longer there, it misses her completely! The nightmares have no effect. No damage! * Mikari peeks out from behind a fallen pillar, yells a few random taunts at the demon, and then slinks back behind it in the hopes of popping out somewhere unexpected come her next turn. ^_^ >> Nathan's action! * Nathan bares his fangs at the monster, his eyes ablaze with anger, "I don't care what you say, I can change things!" * Nathan literally runs up the monster's body, and plants a flipping kick right under its chin! >> Nathan unleashes a critical attack on the Nightmare Demon. 27 damage! * Mikari pops her head out again, this time sitting up on a spot high up the wall. "Good shot, Nate!" * Mitsuo continues to chant. Hmm..not really, I need to hit that thing harder :\ >> Cassidy's action! * Mikari shrugs. ^^ * Erellisae is likewise still concentrating. The breeze round the room seems to be moving faster. ^^; * Cassidy leaps foward, sweeping her blade in a wide arc and cutting deep into the side of the devil! The blade flares brightly, and leaves a series of trailing motes behind it! * >> Cassidy executes Dazzling Blade on Nightmare Demon. 38 damage! * Feray glances at Nate, the silver glow flickering faintly. She then returns her attention to the Demon, a cruel smile curling her lips. >> Mitsuo's action! Bright strength of the clouds! Come to earth! * Mitsuo reaches up and draws an arc of purple lighting down from the heavens. Using his own body as a conduit, he supercharges the energy with his own magic, releasing a blast of lightning that buries itself into the enemy! >> Mitsuo casts Stram. The Nightmare Demon suffers -2 ATK level! * Mitsuo smiles, "Take that!" >> Erellisae's action! * Erellisae closes her eyes briefly as her hair moves faster, the soft breeze flowing around her whirling into a frenzy. She opens her eyes, the silver aura around her flaring as it coalesces at her staff's point. With a cry of "Go /away/!", the energy swirls together into a jet stream, buffeting the creature. >> Erellisae casts Go 'Way! I...I knew it was too easy....! One glowing eye snaps open, staring at them. The rumble changes...sounding like...laughter? Suddenly a dark power rips through them in a wave that leaves them shuddering, frozen in place and unable to do anything but stare at those awful eyes! .... The beast rises slowly, languidly, black saliva dripping from its maw. * Feray inhales and shivers despite herself... * Nathan struggles to move his body, with limited success . o O (Dammit!) * Jalanda shudder as a energy lances through her, trying to shut her eyes. "...vile...shadow...!" Huge footsteps carry it toward Feray. Suddenly, its legs become eight...its head becomes studded by eight of those green, glowing, awful human eyes. Sharp mandibles click at her. * Mikari attempts to break free of the black stasis, pushing forward with all her might!! * Erellisae shakes, sliding down the wall a little, trying to hold back tears. "N-no..." .....nnnh... ...nnoooo!!! * Feray cries out!! Ohgodohgodohgodno * Nathan growls at the monster, "Stop it!" The monster approaches Feray slowly, enjoying and savoring her fear. It suddenly slashes out with a bladed leg, cutting deep gashes along her side and knocking her roughly to the ground! Aaahhhghhh!! * Jalanda tries to grasp out from her frozen prison, her right arm convulsing violently in the effort, and sweat forming on her brow as the rest remains riveted in the enchantment. "...don't... defeat... yourself... f..fight..." * Mitsuo starts breathing erratically once more, "S...Stop!!" * Feray cries out and tries to scramble away, tears running down her face, terror etched firmly in features. * Nathan snarls, trying desperately to move and help Nnnnnnghhh..... rrrggghh!... * Erellisae shakes her head slightly amidst the fear. "F-Feray... No..." Oh god please no! Go away! GO AWAY! Feray! Dammit! The monster shifts and ripples, leaving Feray lying there in terror. Turning to Nathan it, shrinks in size, turning into a twisted black shape that is almost human, almost...a merman. * Mikari starts to face the possibility that she might not get out of this one after all.... Her eyes dart around displaying the panic she wants to hide... * Feray grabs her head and lays there, shaking and trembling, curling into a ball. * Nathan wideyes The figure grins toothily, and for a flashing instant Nathan sees a different merman, cutting an etherial Feray's throat as he laughs, a fleeting vision that quickly fades. * Mitsuo clutches his chest, "You...it's....torturing us...stop...stop it!" * Nathan howls with rage, struggling to reach out for the creature! * Erellisae shakes her head, crying hard. "S-stop it... Stop hurting them..." The image shifts back to the black shape with the green glowing eyes. It advances, then backhands Nathan with a gauntleted hand, the gauntlet covered in spikes that leave Nathan's face bruised and bloody. . o O (Is this real? Or another trick?) * Mitsuo crumples to his knees, "It's...I can't...breathe...I can't...I don't know...Spirits help me...I can't..." * Mikari realizes that this, too, may be an illusion, and desperately tries to figure out how to transfer the knowledge of how to escape it in a dream, to how to escape it in the flesh.... * Nathan reels and falls, then struggles to get back to his feet and launch himself at the attacker! The monster turns back to its original shifting form, advancing on Mikari. She sees flashes of images from her dream, the thing killing her friends, leaving them screaming and bloodied and dying...but this time the chilling knowledge runs through her head that this is no dream, that this could happen, WILL happen. The black, rippling wall closes in on Nathan, sending shockwaves of pain through his body. * Nathan collapses N...Nathan! * Mitsuo begins to sweat profusely, gasping for air. * Dylan relaxes, trying to see if the grip weakens.. The thing disdainfully punches Mikari hard in the gut, leaving her doubled over, barely able to breathe. * Erellisae shakes her head, sobbing now. * Mikari freezes icily in terror, then takes the blow hard, feeling like she's going to turn purple from suddenly having the air forced out of her so... Next it advances upon Dylan. A faint glowing light appears in one clawed hand, something much like a Spirit. Grinning gleefully, the thing crushes it, its eyes meeting Dylan's. * Dylan raises an eyebrow All things end. You will too. * Dylan is shaking in anger, or fear, despite his cold words. The dark wall closes in on Dylan, the pain lancing through him much as it did Nathan. The nightmare demon wheels around, now approaching Jalanda, step by step, until it is only inches from her, its hot smell filling her nostrils. . o O (Burning...everything is burning...we'll all burn away....I can't...I can't...) * Jalanda tries to extend her arm past the prison's barrier. "You... will stop this... you will not... feed off their fears..." * Dylan bellows in pain briefly, before collapsing on the floor.. The thing shoves Jalanda down on the ground, bruising her badly. Pieces of rock and rubble dig into the old wounds and scars hidden below her robes. J...Jalanda! * Erellisae tries to move, to do anything but watch her friends get hurt. "S-stop..." She feels a cold, tearing sensation inside her...reminiscient of the brushes with Gaia felt eleven years before. * Jalanda is cast to the ground letting go a rare scream, then clutches her right side in agony, biting back the pain enough to speak. "Ugggh... I've... suffered too much.. to let this be.. the last thing I see..." Suddenly, the beast turns on Cassidy, approaching step by step...and suddenly it is no monster at all, but Gyan Amsered. O_o His eyes glow faintly green, and on his face is a look of....disappointment? .... * Mikari grits her teeth, still in pain.... You..... * Cassidy hisses. * I will not be tricked! * Mitsuo doesn't answer anymore, his gasps loud and harsh. * Feray continues to not move, aside from her twitching and shaking, rolled into a ball. * Nathan shudders and twitches, hissing from the pain "You failed me, Cassidy." His voice is a rough, low, inhuman whisper. One hand lashes out, hitting Cassidy hard in the face, leaving her lips and nose bleeding heavily. * Cassidy remains defiant, her chin held high. * * Cassidy recoils from the blow.. * Whispers of failure, defeat, ring through Cassidy's skull. She is worthless, cursed, doomed to hurt all those around her.... The thing looks around, its gaze landing on Mitsuo momentarily. Shifting back to its ever-changing, black, hulking form, it bares sharp teeth and grins at Mitsuo, before swinging its fierce green gaze to look upon Erellisae. ...No! * Erellisae shakes her head, closing her eyes a little as the monster approaches. "S-stop... stop it..." The monster reaches Erellisae, then its claws elongate and grow. It reaches out, grabbing her arm and hauling her upward, the claws biting into her flesh and drawing blood as it lifts her to her feet. * Jalanda labors to breathe, trying to get up on her arms, and crawl to the edge of the barrier. "I must... stop this... somehow..." S...Stop!! * Erellisae winces and bites her lip hard in an attempt not to cry out, struggling slightly against its grip. "N-no..." The thing grabs Erellisae roughly, drawing more blood, and lifts her into the air, examining her. A grin slowly spreads across its face. One claw raises above her, ready to plunge into her chest.... * Nathan grits his teeth, mind racing, trying to think of a way out of this Nauugh...! * Dylan mumbles a prayer to the Spirits, casting his mind back to the Rainbow Springs, trying to forget the gloom and pain.. * Erellisae shakes her head, her gaze fixed upon the claw. "No... n-no..." * Mitsuo stumbles to his feet, panting in pain, "It's...oh Spirits...I'm burning...I can't breathe!" * Feray jerks slightly at hearing Erel's words, part of her trying to fight. * Mikari squints and attempts to reach forward. "Let... go...." Stop...it! * Jalanda thrusts an arm desperately at the dark wall, knowing full well the pain it entails.... as she forces it a familiar blue glow emits from her convulsing fingers. "...truth.. disrupt the lies...!" The pain keeps Jalanda almost totally paralyzed... Those who can see or are watching Mitsuo can see him begin to shudder violently... * Mitsuo suddenly lets out a cry of extreme pain when suddenly there is almost a hiss of static magical energy that rushes through the area, resonating like a shockwave! Suddenly, there is a faint glimmer of green energy emminating from Mitsuo as large, almost frond shaped wings suddenly unfurl from his back! O_o The green light cuts through the dark miasma of the prison, creating an eerie effect indeed. Wha...? M...Mitsuo? * Feray jerks her head upwards at Mits's cry, staring. You...won't...I can't...I won't let you!! * Dylan opens his eyes to the green glow.. The nightmare demon howls in rage and pain, the bright green light cutting through and destroying the walls of darkness. The others feel themselves suddenly free of the pain and paralysis! * Mikari stares at Mitsuo disbelievingly. "Wh-....w-what?..." Augh! * Jalanda can't quite make it, lying there frozen in pain a long moment... just as she's about to collapse from the agony, a strange peace washes over her face. She stares. The thing drops Erellisae and recoils, letting the mage girl fall as it howls, writhing in its painful death throes as the light burns it... Wings? of... can it be?... He's... a boy... * Erellisae stumbles backwards as she's dropped, clutching at her side in pain as she scrabbles away. "Aa-aahh... M-Mitsuo..." * Mikari's breathing returns to normal, as she rests her hand on her stomach, feeling the pain wash away.... * Nathan shields his eyes from the light * Cassidy's jaw hangs open, whatever duress she had previously been under having since been forgotten in light of this revelation.. * * Feray shudders softly as her bonds of terror release her, pushing herself up, squinting with reddened eyes.. Puff... puff... phhhew.... * Dylan stands up, and starts to chant once more.. What are those...? . o O (No time for questions, first stop bleeding) ...is it too soon...? * Mikari collapses to one knee, and leans her elbow on the other... The nightmare demon collapses at the entrance to its dark cavern deep in the ruins, howling and roaring furiously, but more and more softly, until it finally rasps and gurgles into silence, twitching. Finally, it goes still, its black hide steaming faintly. Mits.... you were....? Amazing... The dark feeling of the ruins vanishes, and a moment later, the light begins to fade as well... * Nathan struggles to stand, and goes to help Feray back onto her feet * Mitsuo's eyes suddenly become unfocused and he takes a couple of clumsy steps back, his wings dissipating as soon as they appeared. Before he has a chance to even comprehend what has happened, his eyes roll back into his head, and he collapses to the ground, curled up on his side. He doesn't move. * Erellisae takes a step towards Mitsuo, one hand clutching at her wounds, the other at the pendant around her neck. "Mitsuo... y-you're..." Gagh.... and all along... heh.... ^^ * Jalanda bows her head, standing ever so slowly. I don't understand...what...Mits! ... * Feray blinks wearily and offers Nate a weak smile, gently rubbing a hand over his cheek briefly before heading for Mitsuo, stumbling * Mikari, despite her pain, lets out a small smile from the irony. * Erellisae scrabbles her way over to Mitsuo, looking panicked. "H-hey..! Mitsuo!" * Nathan blinks at the touch on his cheek, pauses a moment, then hurries over to Mitsuo Hey! Mits! Mits, talk to us! Hey! * Jalanda walks over to Mitsuo, gazing down at him... her expression holds many things upon it, awe, certainty, fear, sadness. I've, uh, spent alot of time downplaying or just making fun of all these little hurdles on the road we've travelled.. but this.. uh.. I'm not so sure I can downplay -that-. * Mitsuo remains unresponsive, his hair drifting into his eyes. Is he alive? Please tell me he's alive... ...so it was true. * Nathan looks to the group for an explanation, "What happened? What was that?" He grew...wings....wings of light... * Erellisae shakes Mitsuo slightly, grabbing his collar. She's crying again as she looks at him. "Come on! Wake up! You... if you're a... you can help me understand!" Does that mean....what does.. * Mikari blinks and realizes Mitsuo really didn't come out of this unscathed... her smile drops to a frown and she brings herself to stand up and move over to see him. * Mitsuo is shaken like a rag doll. He's breathing, but it's slightly halting. His heart is also beating somewhat fast as well. * Jalanda places her two hands on him, and begins to try to repair his slightly shocked system. It means... Mitsuo is an Icarian, Feray. * Nathan stops dead Amidst the others' shock, Dylan quietly casts Alheal. Everyone feels new strength pour into them, steadying them slightly, their bleeding wounds beginning to close. Mitsuo's breathing steadies a bit. Come again? * Dylan sighs, and looks at the gathering.. .... I.... * Mikari sighs in relief, but continues to watch Mitsuo. * Feray shakes her head, amazement still in her eyes but gradual acceptance too.... ..can, uh, guys be Icarian? Or is Mitsuo just better at hiding the fact she's a girl better than I am? Icarians are female. And twins. Always have been. I don't know why. but I've been led to believe this... now the proof manifested. It's why the stones reacted to his presence... the Spirit Stone.. * Mitsuo remians unresponsive despite the healing, his face still pale. Well, I'd say if there's male merfolk, why not male Icarians? And in the end, he's a young boy involved in something rather large. Let's get him to a warm bed. Eh, great, now THIS really throws off anythin' I can say about it.... ...yeah. Let's get out of here ...Well, Nate, 'cuz they certainly aren't their own race in the sense YOU are... I think that'd be the best move. * Feray pauses and gently lifts Mitsuo up. Easy there, fiddler.....I have you... Can you find the way back, Mikari? ...I suppose... this also means the difficult part of his destiny starts. * Erellisae stops shaking Mitsuo, but looks down at him. "He's... he's an Icarian... then...", she trails off, before nodding. "Y-yeah..." The ruins are now still and unthreatening, but it certainly seems there might be a better place for them to be right now... * Mikari nods... "I had ta find my way here by tracks; should be even easier gettin' back... Come on; I'll show ya there... Mitsuo's okay?" ... Let's get out of here... I've got him....don't worry, Erel.. He's Mitsuo. Everything else will sort itself out. Please lead the way, most direct route, I'll clear the undergrowth. He'll be alright...really... * Erellisae skitters alongside Feray, watching both her and Mitsuo, the pendant removed from her neck, dangling in her hand. * Jalanda still looks sad for some reason, as if she sees great pain to come... * Nathan follows along behind the group, suddenly not feeling talkative * Cassidy silently follows, in a dumbstruck sort of fashion.. * * Feray cradles Mitsuo gently, exhaling softly.. ...well....this has been the most interesting visit to a town yet... * Mitsuo remains very limp. Yeah. Can we not do it again, ever? The group leaves almost as silently as they entered, if more aware than before. It seems this victory has raised more questions than it answered. It takes a short while for them to reach the ruins' entrance; beyond waits the dripping foliage of the jungle, fresh from the rains. * Mikari is likewise untalkative. She leads on, using the position as a reason to remain silent, as she pushes away the heavy foliage to return to the village... * Erellisae watches Mitsuo, looking sad. "Looks like we're both in the same boat, huh..? Not exactly human... gods know what the Icarian Church'll say about /this/..." * Jalanda murmurs, "..destiny throws your fate at your feet... but will you accept what time has decreed..?" * Dylan grunts as he hacks a clear path for Feray and her ward. * Feray stares down at Mitsuo, thoughtful...still in a bit of awe.....but she murmurs.. "Still Mitsuo, no matter what. Wings, horns, breasts, whatever. Still Mitsuo." Nathan, how much do you know of what happened above-sea eleven years ago? * Feray hugs him a bit closer. * Jalanda follows silently now. * Mikari pauses and scrunches her nose oddly at the words heard from behind her. "...Breasts...?" Hm? Not much. Before then we tries to ignore the surface world as much as possible. Especially after the first Gaia incursion Hmm. A lot of history seems to be coming back, perhaps Ms. Erellisae should inform you of the happenings.. Maybe that should wait a bit, right now might not be the best time for a history lesson * Erellisae nods. "I... I'll stay with him too. I know what it's like to find out something like that..." She looks off into the distance, the hand holding the pendant drifting up towards her drooped ear. A horde of worriers blocking his window won't help him any. True Dylan is right. He'll probably panic when waking.. Best to keep the numbers slim.. * Erellisae glares into the distance, clenching her fists. "I'm staying with him." She shakes her head, and her gaze softens. "Trust me, please. I know more than anyone..." * Jalanda removes her hood, and runs a hand through her long brown hair, looking a little flustered. She takes an end of the material and wipes it across her face briefly. No argument here * Dylan shrugs, and hacks an ambitious fern down a few feet... * Feray looks to Erel. "I had you in mind, actually." .o( A little longer must I watch before that time... ) * Erellisae looks up with a blink, before nodding, looking more relieved. "Thank you..." . o O (Of course, it was a threat to Ms. Erellisae that.. but perhaps the threat to her was more serious... ) * Mikari keeps to herself, kicking at the ground periodically. * Nathan lapses into silence again * Jalanda walks over to Dylan, still hobbling a bit, and speaking quietly. "... would you spare a shoulder...?" * Dylan nods, and offers an arm to Jal. * Feray blows some hair from her face.. The village appears through the trees ahead of them... . o O (Finally...) Erel... * Erellisae blinks, looking up. "Yeah..?" I'm...gonna need to rest for a while....I know you'll look after him and protect him....right? *nods a little* * Jalanda takes the offering, humbly, with a noticable appreciation as they continue on. I'd play bodyguard but.... * Erellisae nods. "Yeah... I will. I promise." * Feray smiles tiredly. "Thanks.." As they approach the village, a few Tenkali, in the process of going about their daily business, stop and stare at the bedraggled group emerging from the jungle. * Nathan looks at the locals Would you beleive we got separated from the tour group? ;) There are several whispers. A Tenkali warrior hurries up to them, seeing them carrying the limp Mitsuo. [Warrior] What happened? Where did you go? Your friend...he still lives, does he not? *Concerned look* * Mikari exhales heavily at Nathan's greeting, but finds it in her to give a tired smile. Ms. Jalanda, do you want to stay with Mitsuo? Or do you need some rest yourself? Some of the villagers give Nathan weak smiles. Most whisper heatedly among themselves. He... He'll get there. I think right now we're all pretty semi-living. * Erellisae looks weary but determined. ^^; It has been a rough night. But rest will finally come for us all. A woman warrior appears and gestures to Feray. [Woman] We will take him to his cottage. Follow me. Alright. * Nathan nods The warrior nods, then looks to the others. [Warrior] It is almost time for the midafternoon meal. You seem in need of nourishment. Will you join us? * Jalanda glances aside to Dylan. "I believe I need to think about some things. I know Mitsuo is in no danger, not yet..." [Warrior] We will send food for any of you who wish to stay with him, and for him when he wakes. That would be lovely Hell yeah. Bring on the grub. * Cassidy quietly and unobtrusively makes herself scarce.. * * Mikari says this much more tiredly than usual, though... And... maybe we can figure out what the heck happened here... The warrior nods. [Warrior] I will take you to the meal hall. Senkala will take your friend to his cottage. Perhaps I should dine with your Chief. I could tell her what happened.. at least some of it. And her cooking smells good. ^-^ The man starts to walk away, looking back and waiting for the others to follow. * Erellisae nods. "I'll be staying with him." She walks up to Senkala, watching Mitsuo. The warrior smiles at Dylan. [Warrior] I am sure she would welcome your tale. * Mitsuo is still just as unconscious and pale as he was in the ruins. There has been no change. I...I don't feel much like eating.. I'll catch you guys later, though... * Nathan nods to Feray, "Don't go too far, OK?" * Mikari looks over Mitsuo and frowns. The warrior walks off, the hungry heroes in tow... Heck, where am I gonna go? Back to the jungle? ^^; .... * Feray backs her ears and looks a little thoughtful at that I was hopin' he'd have worked this off by now... he may need some treatment, or somethin'... * Erellisae shakes her head slowly. "I think just time..." Mitsuo has been pushing himself very hard. * Nathan raises an eyebrow at Feray Well, yeah, that's even puttin' it a little mildly... * Feray smiles wryly at Nate but says nothing, a gleam in her eyes. * Mikari looks up at Feray. Don't make me come looking for you ^_- * Mikari nods with Nathan. Who, me? Aw, you guys forget. I'm a huntress. Jungles and such are a home to me. As long as they don't contain big evil demons that want to eat my head. Best to stay with Mitsuo or close by. We ran into one of those already. The next one isn't set to arrive until the 7:45 bus tomorow morning ^_- * Feray snorts softly * Erellisae nods, turning to Feray. "Just be careful, okay...? I'll look after Mits, you look after yourself in return. Deal?" Hey, no problem, Erel. Promise. ...Sorry t'burst yer bubble Feray, but there just might BE big evil demons that wanna eat yer head, in this case. ^^; Be careful, an' don't go far. * Feray nods a little. * Erellisae nods, smiling slightly, before she turns, following the woman carrying Mitsuo. * Jalanda eventually follows the villagers. "I will see what I can do for him when my strength returns. The rest of you, please, use this time to rest and heal. There is still a journey waiting for us tomorrow..." Senkala nods, leading Erellisae as she takes Mitsuo to his cottage, hoping some rest will recover him... So where's that food? I'm starving. I'll even eat something that's not fish-based ^_- Heh... Good thing; they do a lot of huntin' on their own here...
