Most of the party is asleep, exhausted from their ordeal the day before, and thankful for a sleep without horrifying dreams... * Dill flits from branch to branch above the village, with all the grace of an aerobic brick. * Jalanda slumbers in the bed provided for her by the villagers, in an almost motionless repose... it's very unlike her to sleep in so. * Nathan stirs a bit, beginning to wake up * Feray blinks a bit, snapping out of her dazed thoughts. She leans over, grinning, and blows in Nathan's ear softly. ...urf * Feray pauses and then gets a wicked look. * Feray licks her fingers and sticks one in Nate's ear, wiggling it. GAH! * Nathan bolts upright! * Dylan is not in his room, being unable to sleep soundly, a note flaps slightly in the warm breeze by his bed. * Feray snorts happily and leans back. "Good morning, sunshine." * Nathan blinks, then glares at Feray Yer still in pinching range yanno ^_- You wouldn't dare. I can bend you into nonpleasant shapes. ;) And I go well with butter. What's yer point? ;) * Feray eyes Nate warily, amused. "Anyway....we should get to the village, you know, before Erel fireballs the entire jungle to locate us." True enough. And good morning while I'm at it ^_^ * Nathan stands up and brushes himself off * Feray watches Nate idly, not moving. She glances at her legs, her gaze sharpening into annoyance. . o O (Work. Feray, stand.) * Feray struggles up slowly to her feet. * Nathan looks oddly at Feray, but says nothing * Dill flaps to Cassidy's window. Letting out what sounds supicously like an attempt at a chirp. * Feray rubs her thighs for a moment and then straightens, grabbing her pack after, throwing some dirt over her campfire. Ready? ^_- Ready ^_^ Let's go, fishboy. * Cassidy flicks the covers off of her head, to glance out the window at the chirping little beastie. * After you cowgirl. * Feray starts off towards the village, amused. "Are you saying I'm FAT?" ;) Are you saying I'm scaly? ^_- Wow, aren't we surly today. ;) Nah, just persnickety ^_^ * Cassidy looks sleepy, and mumbles. * ..Whadooyoo want? * Feray bounces up over the small dirt hill and points at the tree-y village. "Arrr, there be our land, me matey." * Dill hops next to Cassidy's bed, and winghugs her head * Nathan crests the hill and shield his eyes, "Aye cap'in, I'll have the crew put on their sunday best and we'll show 'em whatfer!" * Feray blinks and bursts out laughing. "Oh hells....sunday best...and I only have one outfit." * Cassidy watches the antics of the Puffy-a-like through half open eyes, not really discerning anything. She lets out a bit of a yawn, and blinks a couple times. * Well, in lieu of frippy finery, how about a little tuba? The cap'in always was such a tubanist ;) * Dill puffs merrily, and flaps out the window, heading to the room Feray was assigned. * Cassidy shrugs, smiles a bit, and pulls the covers back up over her head again.. * * Feray chortles, heading into the village leisurely. "I think you're insane. Must be the constant fear of becoming a side dish." Well, my mother always did say to beware of the company of surface-dwellers. Maybe this is one of the side effects she meant ^_- Yeah, we also cause impotence in some cases and in more extreme, the loss of a limb. ^_- How lovely for you all. I suppose you lot don't get much return business then? ^_- * Feray stops walking, noting she's not quite sure where she's supposedly heading. She eyes Nate in amusement. "Only from people who like that sorta thing." ;) Oooh, yer a kinky lot aincha? ^_- .....on a totally different note..I have no idea where we're going. ;) Ah, follow me then. We're off to the inn * Feray nods a bit and gets a little bit more of a restrained nature, grinning. "Maybe they'll have some rabbit. Properly cooked." No little crunchy bits suitable for hand-to-hand combat? How barbaric ^_- * Jalanda stirs, disturbing her entirely flat state of rest for a passing moment before she goes still again, a bit of her loose brown hair draped across the pillow like the roots of a tree. * Feray utters a low growl of amusement. "Yeah, these people seem absoloutely evil." ;) * Nathan opens the inn door and ushers Feray inside * Feray ducks inside at Nate's ushering! * Feray flops down into a seat, stretching. "Wonder when the others'll get here for breakfast....buncha layabouts." ;) Dunno. I suppose we could always start banging on random doors ;) * Nathan drops into another chair Oh yeah, because we weren't told to behave. ;) Are we ever? ;) * Feray arches an eyebrow. "I can't help it, you know. You're a bad influence on my pristine character." ;) Moi? I am the soul of civility. I merely open doors for you to run through gleefully on your own accord ^_- After a while, the door to the village eatery opens, and a moss-green head of hair peeks in, looking around with a frown. * Feray opens her mouth to make her usual zing but notices the movement out of the corner of her eye, turning to see who it is. * Nathan looks at the newcomer * Dill puffs dejected at the lack of Feray or Nathan, and goes to Jalanda's room. Lily sighs a little with relief at having found Feray and Nathan, and she slips through the door to join them... * Dylan puffs, and huffs, as he wonders through thick jungle. Howdy doo Lily nods. Morning...I'm glad to see you're all right. I was really worried when I found all of you had disappeared... the chief had no idea what had happened. I went back to Nendasa to look for you, or for clues as to your whereabouts...besides which there seems to be some trouble brewing there and I wanted to check it out. I figured where there was trouble, you'd be responsible... :P * Dill gnaws on Jalanda's hair Us? Responsible for troulble? Surely you jest ;) Hey now....trouble? We're innocent! Like small fur-less babies. ^_- * Jalanda slowly opens her eyes, feeling a little tug. * Dill grins up at Jal impishly Puf! * Nathan chuckles Lily chuckles, but the laugh fades quickly as she takes a seat. [Lily] Smells like breakfast is being cooked...any idea where they others are? They're all safe, yes? All I could get out of the villagers was a jumbled mess of confusion... Erm.. * Jalanda tilts her head sideways to look at the Puffy. She smiles somewhat blearily. "Good morning Dill... I see you're taken a liking to gnawing my tresses instead of the breakfast table today." * Dylan flies in circles around Jal's head * Dill flies in circles around Jal's head, following the chibi-Dylan mirage Well, we're safe-ish. But some of us won't be travelling under their own power for a bit ^^; * Feray pauses, unsure of how to exactly say that Mitsuo grew wings. ^^; * Jalanda sits up, rolling the covers down a bit. she's in a white sleeping robe. * Dill lands on Jalanda's shoulder Puff? Lily looks concerned. [Lily] Oh...? Who was injured? I take it you had a tangle with some sort of creature in the jungle...? Uhhmm.. Lily? * Feray pauses again. You know how a butterfly kinda like...doesn't have wings at first... And then it kinda does? ..^^; Lily blinks, wondering what Feray is getting at, and nods slowly. Mitsuo is a butterfly. I apologize I don't share such energy at the moment... A magical butterfly * Dill nuzzles Jal's cheek Lily blinks again. Then she speaks, slowly. [Lily] You mean...literally? As in, he literally has wings? Or are you trying to make a comparison that is completely losing me? *looks confused and skeptical* Kinda literally. He had wings. But only for a few moments. You know...THOSE wings * Dill nuzzles Jal's cheek. Lily looks from Feray to Nathan, and back again. [Lily] But that would make him...an Icarian.... * Feray nods slowly. Ja * Jalanda slowly gets out of the bed, standing up with the shoulder dweller in tow. "It's alright, little one... it is not any ill effect I assure you. On the contrary." [Lily] Now, I do have an Icarian for a daughter-in-law, so the idea doesn't intimidate me as it would some people. But...I don't suppose you have any idea how this is possible for a boy? O_o Hmm. Maybe Mitsuo is hiding something. I've certainly never seen him naked. Is that an issue? Let's go check! ^_- * Nathan chuckles! * Jalanda looks at herself in a rough mirror, considering the image that reflect back... Erel would toast you if you tried yanno ^_- Lily blinks, then starts to laugh, though looking a bit appalled at Feray's audacity. * Dill waves at the mirror Aw, I was just kidding. ;) But yeah, we're all a little surprised, Lily. ^^; [Lily] True, though, it might be a good idea to check on him...but perhaps after breakfast would be better? I'm starved. * Feray nods! Me too. Damned rabbits. Breakfast would be lovely * Jalanda lifts a hand to pet Dill several times. "Perhaps one day I'll be happy to see something different... something happier." Lily smiles and stands. [Lily] Well, I'll go see if it's almost ready. Maybe you two had better round up your friends? We need to have a nice talk over breakfast. As for Mitsuo...I'm sure it'll all work out. I wouldn't worry for now. OK Let's go scrounge up the others * Dill puffs happily at the attention Yay! Hm? * Feray goes to what she can figure is the most central of the village's hut locations...she clears her throat... * Jalanda studies this. "It would be expected. I'm sure this area is very interesting to the cartographer deep down." * Feray adopts a Erel-high tone and yells, pretty much as loudly as Erel does. "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDD MOOOOOOOOOOOORNIIIIINNGGGG!!!" * Nathan blinks, then falls over laughing! * Feray turns to eye Nate wryly, her voice still high at first. "Wha--- " * Feray ahems and clears her throat. What're you laughing at? ;) Ah, my dear huntress, you are a wonder, you know that? ;) Lily acks and almost falls over as she makes her way out to talk to the cooks. O_o Aww, you're just saying that because you want in my teeny tiny battle thong. * Feray grins sassily and turns back to the huts, waiting. * Jalanda rubs her chin once, then hears a faint whisper. As if a cue, she goes off to change into something more appropriate and tidy herself up. (If Dill has ever seen people's morning habits, he'd probably think she was really excessive about beauty in some little ways.) * Nathan bursts out laughing again! Many villagers look out their doors, some looking blearily panicked, others highly irritated. * Feray blinks. * Feray pauses and meekly waves. Hi there! Just a warning drill! Some laugh, others grumble, but after a few minutes the doors close again. * Feray blushes. Good idea. Bad impression ;) Hey, I didn't say it was a -good- idea. ;) True ^_^ * Jalanda eventually exits the room garbed in a very earthen-toned silk robe, waiting at the door for Dill to follow her outside. ^^ * Dill sits on top of Jal's head/hood * Nathan looks around for the party * Dill points to the eatery. "Puff!" Man...these guys sleep like they're dead or something... should I yell that I'll take my top off? * Jalanda heads out, glancing ever so briefly in the direction of Mitsuo's treehouse, before going to the main gathering place. Well, that will get SOMEONE's attention, but possibly not the kind you'd like ;) True...and-- hey, Jal! * Nathan looks over Ah, that's one...and a half ;) * Dill waves merrily Dill counts as 1/3, really.. "You seek me for what purpose...? The flow of destiny rests impatiently beneath our feet this day... but it's time is still not yet." Lily wants to see us at the eatery-type section of the Inn. Where the heck are the others? They must be deaf. We're gathering folks for breakfast. Food may not be our destiny, but its handy ;) * Feray's stomach idly seconds Nate's words. Dylan is out scouting.. or so Dill would imply. I could fetch him then for you. If you know where he is then more power to ya * Dylan follows his impeccable breakfast instincts by promptly walking into a tree near the group. ... * Nathan dies laughing! Ooff! Where did that come from? * Jalanda turns her head quizzically. "Dylan...?" * Feray blinks and stares before bursting out into laughter! Oh cripes, Dylan, are you alright? * Dylan looks around puzzled, holding a sketchpad in one hand and pencil in the other.. Behold, a tree is discovered ;) * Dylan rubs his forehead.. I'll be okay, should really keep an eye on where I'm going. I heard Ms. Erellisae shout something.. Erm.. No, that was me. ^^; * Feray looks meek. No, I'm certain it was her, your voice is deeper.. I see * Jalanda walks over, checking to see if he is unhurt, and nodding... * Dylan blinks as his stomach rumbles So let's see, that half the group Indeed. That leaves...Cassidy and Mikari... She follows up the ladder carefully. Lily is waiting inside the village eatery, looking very hard pressed not to sample the steaming jungle breakfast before her as she waits for the others... * Cassidy sits bolt upright as the sound of the knock. * * Feray adopts an Erel tone once more, amazingly convincing. "Ohaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayo, Cassidy!!!!" :D * Nathan finishes the climb and wats * Cassidy blinks at the door a moment.. * ..yeah? Lily wants us all at the Inn right now! Important! :D * Feray attempts to remain perky. * Cassidy sighs. * Why? I thought we were just killing time for the next few days since Mitsy's out of it. ..I thought I could sleep in.. Jerk. * Jalanda pauses before an explaination comes, caught in the vex of a certain puffy around her head. ^^ * Dylan rubs his eyes tiredly as he looks at some sketches he made of jungle blooms. * Feray blinks in amusement. And then turns to head for the eatery. Food now. * Mikari enters, and lets out an awkward huff. ^^; * Cassidy strolls into the eatery. * Okay, what's so important? Indeed. Breakfast. Important. *wobbles slightly* Dizzy. Damn this humid air.. Lily waves as the others arrive, sitting hungrily before an array of exotic jungle foods. [Lily] Morning all....well, first of all I'd like to hear your story, and then I think you should know what's up in Nendasa... :/ There's no need to worry, Nathan. She will show when the time is right. There are many things that wait for her greater than our hunger. * Dylan seeks out the smell of food * Nathan plops down in a chair * Jalanda has a seat in due course with everyone. ^^ * Feray flops casually into a chair and attempts to be serious. Hmmm. * Mikari nods at the explanation and starts to look around the eatery with a thoughtfully furrowed brow. She takes a seat and looks like she's at least halfway listening. A summary would be : Wake up, find each other, joke, see demon, fight, pain, glowing green wings. * Jalanda nods in greeting to Mikari. "What impeccable timing." Seeing everyone has arrived who is going to, Lily digs in happily to the Tenkali cuisine. Lily nods slowly at Dylan, turning things over in her head to make sense of them. * Jalanda looks to Dylan. "For the long and short of it, that is quite right." Feel free to ask us to expand on any point. Of course there is much greater meaning in those events than simple words could convey. * Mikari nods back to Jalanda. "Yeah. So, what're ya talkin' about?" [Lily] Well....Feray and Nathan explained about Mitsuo. I take it what you found in the ruins was a demon? I was able to get something of that from the Tenkali, though they weren't too clear on the details either... [Lily] Was anyone hurt, aside from Mitsuo? Did you kill the demon, or is it still there? A demon born of our greatest fears nearly made them a reality, drawing us into an eloborate trap... if not for Mitsuo, this future would not have been... It was big, nasty, and changed shape. I think Mitsuo dispersed it. It is most certainly vanquished. Lily nods. [Lily] Sounds like we have much to thank him for, when he awakes. Does anyone know how he's doing? :/ I think he's been asleep since then. Erel's glued herself to him. * Mikari nods to Cassidy. "Pretty much, yeah." * Jalanda sighs a bit. "All I can say.. is that there is no need to worry for his health. It is only an issue of when waking shall come for his tired soul." * Feray is quiet, a faint look of worry across her features. He'll be fine, yeah. Not like it's terminal or anything. Mistuo's tough. He'll pull through Lily gives Jalanda an odd look. [Lily] A scrying, Jalanda? * Mikari listens quietly to the recount of the encounter, not really saying much. ...you could say such. I merely sent the wishes of those he protected to him to guide the path through the darkness and light. * Jalanda shakes her head. "there is still much ahead of him, and ourselves..." Lily smiles at Jalanda. [Lily] Thank you. If you're certain he'll be all right, we'll trust you. Now, on to my news... [Lily] I'll give you three guesses who showed up in Nendasa just after we left... Casper Weinberger? Santa Claus? Ed Wood? The Easter Bunny? Beetle Bailey? The Tooth Fairy? * Mikari cocks her head at Nathan. "Who the 'ell is that?" Justin & Feena? Gyan and his Cobalt Army? Eh, good try Cass, but I think they used up our three guesses. :P The diligent silver star... * Feray snorts and hides her face behind a hand as she laughs quietly. Lily rolls her eyes. [Lily] Actually, I very nearly avoided bumping into Jiandir and a small army in the employ of the Icarian Temple.... Oh cripes. * Mikari smiles slightly in amusement, but isn't in quite as good spirits as one might be... Great... * Jalanda utters this as if it explains itself. "What new cog falls into the great plan, then?" Splendid. * Feray drops her hand, seriousness killing her expression. What do they want now? Irritating little creeps Lily sighs. [Lily] As near as I can tell, they are headed straight here. For what reason, I'm not entirely sure. It could be the ruins and the rumors of the Tenkali relics...or it could be us. I'm not certain. But one thing's for sure, we'd better be on our guard.... Any idea on their ETA? Best for them not to find out about Mitsuo. * Jalanda speaks softly, "I doubt the blinded ones have foreseen this event, but we cannot tempt fate if they approach..." Lily thinks. [Lily] They're gathering information in Nendasa for the time being...I'd guess we have about a day or two. Something tells me we don't want to be here when they arrive Should we wait for Mitsuo to awake, or carry him with us? * Feray mutters. "Or we do." We'll be fine. They're all twits. * Feray cracks her knuckles pointedly. Lily chuckles at Cassidy. [Lily] Well, that's one way of putting it... Er, we can manage bringin' Mitsuo along, but it'll be a little awkward... bumpy ride for 'im, too. Sure he can handle it? One of us could just tape some leaves to our back and go running through the woods, and I bet they'd follow. * Dylan laughs Lily frowns. [Lily] I don't THINK there's any way they could know about Mitsuo...is there? How 'bout you and I, Ms. Cassidy? Heh. Got an idea of any gorillas we can hire, Cass'y? I nominate you, Dylan. If Mitsuo can be an Icarian, than so can you. * Cassidy grins. * * Jalanda folds her hands. "It is possible they could feel the spiritual presence around Mitsuo." A merry chase we could make it, singing in tongues, and dancing to the brightly-coloured birdsong. Lily thinks. There is a knock on the door to their dining room.... Pfft. They couldn't find a spiritual presence if one came up behind them, kicked them in the behind and sang seven verses of a song called "I am a Spiritual Presence" to the tune of "I am the Pirate Queen". :P ...? * Dylan gets up to answer it * Dylan hums the first few bars of 'I am the Pirate Queen' .. well.. It's *probably* the first two bars.. Lily chuckles at Cassidy before looking up at the door. * Dylan opens the door. * Jalanda mumbles, quietly, "Recall they have been in the presence of the sisters, and are trained in the arts of their homage. It is not something to entirely dismiss. They may be blind, but yet have eyes." There is a Tenkali guard standing outside the dining room door. She bows. [Guard] Excuse me...the chief has sent me to ask if she might have a brief audience with friend Mikari, and if possible, the leader of your group...? * Mikari oogles at this sudden musical revival as the guard enters the door O_o * Feray arches an eyebrow. Woah there. * Dylan strokes his chin. * Mikari blinks and turns around. * Feray glances at the others, wondering if the strongest should go. * Jalanda turns carefully to look at the visitor * Cassidy mumbles. * Yeah, eyes that see only what they want to see.. Well, if Ms. Mikari agrees, no problem.. but leader.. we have no such agreement.. I'll go. Go get 'em :) I think Dylan should go. He's bigger. * Feray rolls her eyes and stands, all seriousness now. Ready to go, Mikari? * Dylan rolls his eyes. Er... Yeah, I guess. * Jalanda looks vaguely pleased at Feray's volunteering * Dylan waggles a finger at Feray playfully The guard nods. [Guard] Very well. If you will follow me? * Cassidy stretches, yawning. * Fortunately, this isn't my group. I don't have to go. No being rude, and no corrupting the guards on the way. * Feray nods, turning her curious but cool gaze at the guard. "Alright, lead the way." * Feray ignores Dylan. * Mikari stands up, and uncomfortably follows him, looking a bit irritable. -_- The guard and Mikari exit, leaving the others to continue their conversation.... * Dylan shrugs, assuming that her silence means she taking this seriously. * Dylan return to his seat, and his food. * Jalanda turns and begins focusing on some of the up-till-now ignored food. The guard quickly guides Feray and Mikari to the chief's house, where she ushers them in through the door and gently closes it behind them. The chief sits inside, morning sunlight streaming through her window onto a book she is reading. She looks up, smiling, as they enter. Chief Jahla motions to two chairs. [Jahla] Please, sit... * Feray nods, smiling crisply, any trace of humor wiped from her features but polite enough for now. She sits slowly. * Mikari frowns assessingly and takes her seat in a like manner to Feray. [Jahla] I'll get right to the point. Two things...I'd better start with the most urgent. *She sighs* Do you know anything about this army in red, white, and gold that is marching into the jungle, according to my spies? Ah. We've heard tell it's a movement of some people under the Icarian church. I would not think that they would stay long or cause much trouble here, however. * Mikari throws a knowing look over to Feray, then looks back. I damn well hope not. Well, t'be realistic they've only bothered individuals so far... (That bein' mostly US, though...) Jahla nods. [Jahla] I hope not. Your guide, Jinaro, tells me you had a run-in with some people back in Nendasa, and the Icarian church was mentioned...I had wondered. But I will trust your word if you believe this to be the truth, that they will pass us by. However, I am concerned... * Mikari frowns in concern too, now subconsciously wanting to MAKE what they just told her to turn out to be true... * Feray gazes at Jahla, some understanding creeping into her eyes. "I'm sorry that's the case....but I'm afraid they won't find what they search for when they arrive. So they should not stay long." Jahla nods. [Jahla] I hope so. But if it turns out they are here because of some quarrel with you...we hope you will do your best to take it away from us. However, to be on the safe side, we will have to send warriors to the ruins to make certain that if our relics are indeed there, they are safe from the army. "I admit they mighta followed up here, but if there's somethin' around here they've been lookin' for that they need'n excuse t'go after, I wouldn't be surprised." * Mikari begins to look unexpectedly sincere. [Jahla] I may have mentioned before that you have the look of our village to you, friend Mikari. As you were not raised among us, however, I cannot ask you to stand by us in time of danger...but I would like to remind you that if you do share our heritage, we would welcome you into our midst should you choose to throw your lot in with us. * Mikari blinks twice in mild shock before composing herself. * Feray slides her glance to Mikari but says nothing. I... well, I just... don't want anything to happen to the village, so... er... * Mikari looks a bit puzzled, but seems to settle on a response, making it sound a bit colder than she probably intended. "...Thanks fer the offer, but... I got business elsewhere right now." And your words don't fall on deaf ears, I assure you. Thank you for your kindness." * Feray stands as well, slowly. Jahla smiles and nods, waving them out before returning to her book. * Mikari tries to smile back, but is still a bit too offset by her offer to give a natural response. "er... yeah... th... thanks..." * Feray takes Mikari lightly by the elbow, leading her out. * Mikari doesn't let Feray lead her too long, but still leaves the room in a rather forcedly stoic manner, keeping her eyes to the ground... * Feray pauses outside, releasing Mikari. Her expression is cloudly. * Feray mumbles. "Not good." * Mikari shakes her head, frowning and avoiding eye contact. Kari.. I know nothing of your past, really. Who bore you doesn't matter to me. But if the Icarian church attempts to hurt these people, we will face them to protect these Tenkali. You know that, right? * Mikari nods slowly and looks up. "...Yeah... I'd planned on it." * Feray grins, her seriousness breaking slightly. Good. So let's go plan with the others, hmm? * Mikari grins with one side of her mouth as well, losing her tension as they reveal they had the same plan all along. Yeah.
