Lily is up and about, talking with Tenkali warriors on the landing of one of the treehouses, and apparently has been up for some time. Fidelio is investigating the breakfast options in the inn... * Erellisae walks into the inn's main room, looking much improved as she calls out her customary shout. "Gooooood Mooooooorning!" ^_^ * Cassidy lay sprawled in her bed, sleeping contentedly beneath some scattered, but warm, blankets. * * Mitsuo merfs and pulls the covers over his head at Erel's shout, falling back to sleep in his warm bed. ^^; * Jalanda is sitting at one of the tables, sipping her morning tea. Erel's shout brings a slight smile to her calm features. * Nathan slips out of bed, and gets prepared for the day * Erellisae beelines for the food, waving to the others in the room as she does so before grabbing sundry bits and pieces. * Feray is not at the table, because she's burrowed into her bed. Yes, it is a good morning. The sailing shall go well today, I hope. * Nathan finishes his routine, and hops down the stairs to the dining hall ^_^ Morning Erel ^_^ * Erellisae nods, sitting across from Jalanda with a nod, a bun held in her teeth aside from the food on her plate. "Mrf fink fo foo." She blinks, putting her plate down and removing the bun from her mouth. "Er, I think so too. Hi." ^_^ * Nathan thunks down in a chair and digs in Morning Jalanda ^_^ * Feray mumbles something into her pillow and then drags it over her head. * Jalanda nods, and has another sip slowly. "I can't blame you for wanting to enjoy the abundance here... it may be a long while before we return." * Nathan stuffs a muffin into his mouth * Erellisae shakes her head slightly, swallowing the bite she's in the middle of taking. "Maybe, but we'll be back." :D * Cassidy gnaws contentedly on a corner of her pillow, mumbling something about fame, limitless treasure, giant marshmallows... * * Dylan wanders into the room sleepily, Dill apparently chewing on his shoulder Morning Dylan. Morning Dill ^_- Yoo.. mmmzzhh...zzzz....n'some corn bread too....zzz...*snore* Lily pokes her head into the inn to look around. [Lily] Who's not out of bed yet? ^_^ * Mitsuo snuggles deeper into the covers. ^^; * Dill hops off Dylan's shoulder and flies around the room. * Cassidy blinks, sitting up.. * * Erellisae looks up at Lily. "Most of them. I think I need to apply a second shout." ^^; * Dylan sits at the table. I'm not. * Dylan reaches for bread vaguely.. Lily blinks at Dylan. ^^; * Feray utters a soft sigh of contentment from her warm haven. Ah, Dylan and little Dill. I was curious when you would awaken. *she turns her head slightly* Quite a few it would seem. * Cassidy looks down at the pillow she has clutched in her lap, she then looks around the room a moment, before expelling a rogue feather from her mouth. * ..ugh.. [Lily] Well, I'll go round people up. :P We need to get a nice, early start. *She about-faces and goes to wake people* * Erellisae has sidled out of her chair, making her way towards the stairs with a glint in her eye. ^^; * Cassidy goes about pulling on some clothing before marching downstairs, where hopefully things more appetizing than feathers await her.. * * Jalanda catches Dylan's hand before it spills her tea roughly, and direct it to the bread he is seeking out instead. * Dylan swallows a small bun whole, chokes, and washes it down with a mug of coffee.. Lily finds Feray's room and heads for the door, then knocks sharply. * Feray jerks a little and then yells out, muffledly. "NOBODY'S HOME." Mmm. Coffee... Sorry 'bout that Ms. Jalanda.. horns aren't screwed on yet.. Lily chuckles. [Lily] C'mon dear, up and at 'em. Ship sails early, and you don't want to miss it... * Dill sniffs at Jal's tea * Cassidy opens her door, glancing warily across the hall at Lily and Erel, sneaking off down the stairs while their backs are turned.. * * Nathan downs a mug of orange juice, then attacks some of the bacon * Feray grumbles tiredly and shucks the pillow aside, sitting up with a wince. "Ahhh...the joys of adventuring...never enough sleep, a regular patient at the healers huts and we're always being chased from town...hmph." * Jalanda looks down to the puffy. "It's yours if you wish." Lily frowns at Feray's apparent cynicism. ^^; * Dill grips the edge of the cup in it's mouth, and tilts it's head to drink it. It shakes slightly, and crawls into Jal's cowl. * Cassidy drops into a seat at the table, surveying the meal possibilities.. * * Erellisae grins, and cracks Feray's door ajar, poking a head around. "C'mon! New places and new people and... and... breakfast!" ^_^ 'Morning Ms. Cass. Bread's good. Mornin'. * Nathan grabs a unobservant papaya and gnoshes on it * Feray blinks tiredly at Erel and frowns. * Dylan splits a bun and wedges sausage, egg, and bacon into it.. Mrnin Css *muffled by food* You know... I bet, littlebit, that I could sell you on the market for some sort of home remedy for depression. ^_- Spirits bless this food. *NROM* * Jalanda hmms a bit a Dill's reaction, then looks down into the teacup for awhile... * Feray gets a faint smile and slides out of bed, frowning as she wobbles and has to steady herself on the dresser. She glares down at her feet, grabs her pack and heads for the door determinedly. * Erellisae grins and waggles a finger at Feray. "Of course!" ^_^ She then turns a little more serious, eying Feray warily as she steps back from the door. "How're you... feeling?" * Dill peeks out at the tea-leaves in the cup, and nods sagely. * Cassidy looks around the room, when she turns to look back at the table, there appears to be one less bun.. from under the table she conveniently draws out another one, slathering it in butter, and commences her gnawing. * * Feray slides out of the room and casts Erel a wan smile. "I've been better. But I'll be okay for now. I've got good company." Lily has made her way back downstairs and is happily making short work of a second breakfast. ^_^ * Nathan grabs a few eggs and downs them fairly quickly ...very curious. I wonder... * Erellisae eyes her carefully. "You better! Now, we haveta wake Mitsuo up." ^_^ 'We', hunh? ^_- * Feray brightens at the thought of mischief. Puf! Fidelio approaches the table happily. ^_^ "A fine-a morning to all of-a you!" Morning Fidelio ^_^ * Erellisae giggles. "Of course! When we terrorize, we must stick together!... unless we're terrorizing each other, of course." Mwfling Wdlllooo. * Feray strides towards Mitsuo's door, casting Erel a wink. "I hear ya there. Wanna run in and jump on his bed?" Good morning, Mister Fidelio. * Nathan rips apart an orange and devours it * Dylan coughs, and slaps his chest.. * Jalanda looks up from her ponderings. "My wishes echo yours, sir Fidelio." [Fidelio] So, what is-a the plan for today? We leave soon, yes? *He frowns* I wonder where-a Jake got to... Eat. Then go Morning, Fidelio. Does the ship have a name? * Nathan stabs some sausages with his fork * Erellisae giggles, then knocks on Mitsuo's door. "We may as well give him a chance first. ^_~ Hey! Mitsuo!" Fidelio shakes his head. [Fidelio] No, choosing a name, it is up to all of you, cappiche? ^_^ * Feray grins and lightly raps the door with her knuckles. "Yooohooo, loverboy." Mmmgh...Wha...? Capp... ? Ah. Yes. I wish I'd listened more closely in Zil Padon.. but the weather was insufferable, and I was in a hurry. * Erellisae grins, then knocks louder. "C'mon, sleepyhead! Jeez, I've never seen anyone get through two of my shouts before..!" Fidelio grins and claps Dylan on the shoulder with a fuzzy...er...paw. [Fidelio] The Lainians, they are cold and snowy. They-a do not like-a so much hot sand and wind! * Nathan pours himself some more OJ, downs it in one gulp, spins the mug around once as it lands back down on the table, and pats his full belly ^_^ Mmggh...still early yet...s'only 7...right? * Feray snorts in amusement. "See, he has the right idea." I am sad to hear that, Dylan, I pray we shall visit under much more favorable circumstances. * Feray winks and decides to get some food before her stomach falls out, nudging Erel lightly as she turns and leaves her to her mischief. * Feray trots downstairs and lightly pads to the table, flopping down into a chair with nonchalance. Morning Feray ^_^ Hey there, crabmeat. ^_- Save some for us undernourished huntresses. We're an endangered species, yanno. * Erellisae throws a grin at Feray, before turning back to the door. "Okay, so it's a bit early, but we get to sail off into the sea today! Doncha wanna see new places?" ^^ Is it my fault if yer late for the hunt this morning? ;) Yeah...but I like sleep...*mumblynoises* Okay...gimme a few minutes, okay? ^^ Once we have solved our difficulties, the company of friends, other than Dill of course, would make the weather far more bearable. * Nathan shoves a platter of eggs towards Feray with a grin ^_- * Erellisae nods. "Alright, but you better not make me blow the door up!" ^_~ Erellisae toddles off back downstairs, sitting back at her place at the table. Are you well this morning, ma'am? Lily waves good morning to Feray. * Feray blinks and grins, tentively eating an egg. She waggles a fork in hello to Lily. Fidelio produces a carrot from his pocket and begins nrom-ing it. ^^ Eat well Feray, for difficult and exotic hunts await you to the west... * Feray pauses in midchew and looks amusedly at Dylan and Jalanda. Wow, you'd think someone was dying. ^_- * Feray flashes them a grin. Lily raises an eyebrow at Feray. Only my innocence, Feray. * Feray returns to eating, a little more eagerly. Mmm-mmm. Eggs. Grade A Goodness. * Nathan raises an eyebrow at Feray, then chortles * Feray then stops and eyes Dylan. Oh my god, you called me by my name. Wow. My heart, it cannot take it! * Erellisae looks a little uncomfortable, shifting in her seat a little before shaking her head at herself. "So... which way do we head from here?" ^^; * Feray dramatically poses, her fork waggling in mid-air. * Dylan sticks out a tongue Lily finishes her food and stands. "Right then! I'm ready. How soon can everyone be finished eating and ready to leave? You have a boat to catch!" * Mitsuo trots downstairs and waves to everyone assembeled, looking for something good to eat. ^^ Ready whenever you are. I just feel we are *that* close now, ma'am. * Nathan wipes his mouth with a napkin, "Morning Mits." * Feray pushes the remaining eggs to Mitsuo. ...Doh. We're done eating already? Here. * Jalanda doesn't really respond to her grin with humor in return, exept with a quiet, held stare. She eventually turns away, though, before it becomes an uncomfortable one. "Perhaps then, we should consider the issue of a name." ...Ooh. Thanks... Shovel like your life depended on it. ^_- Lily turns to Erellisae. [Lily] The ship is waiting at Southport, which is southwest of here. From there, you just go west. I'm afraid I don't have much to guide you... * Erellisae grins at Lily. How hard can it be? * Nathan chuckles at Dylan * Dill points a wing at the teacup. * Erellisae blinks at Dylan, then at Mitsuo. "Er... Mits? We just saved your life a couple days back, don't choke on us." ^^; ^^; Sorry....just really hungry. * Jalanda looks back to the teacup at Dill's suggestion. * Feray snorts at Dylan and brightens a little. "I say we call the boat....SS Sittin' Pretty!" * Mitsuo almost DOES choke at Feray's line, "No way! o_O" * Nathan kicks off from the table, spins around with the chair and hops out of it, ready to go * Dill makes swishing motions with it's wings. It's like naming the ship the USS Cotton Candy or something. ^^: Lily goes out to locate Mikari. Umm...maybe the Falcor? Or the Tempest? * Erellisae blinks slowly. "I was... thinking the Fortune..." ^^; Hmph. How about something honest, like the SS "Here goes nothing"? ^_- "Better than Swimming" ? Lily exits the inn and looks around. Cupping her hands to her mouth, she yells, "MIKARIIIIIII!" Hmm...we could call it....Titanic! * Mikari snrrks and wakes up, in a hut several doors down from the inn, nestled in some comfy soft palm leaves and covered with a light blanket the origins of which she is not aware of... Isn't that a biscuit, Cassidy? * Erellisae eyes Mitsuo with a raised eyebrow, that same glint in her eyes. Her eyes are drowsy, but she looks rather calm and at ease. She looks around and chuckles at the group arguing about a name. Lily blinks as Mikari enters. "Oh, hi." * Dill motions tipping the cup. Heh. Mornin'... These guys causin' trouble? Any suggestions for a name, Ms. Mikari? * Mikari is caught yawning as Dylan questions her... * Feray makes the Discovery evade! * Jalanda looks at Dill a moment, bracing the cup. She blinks in a sort of understanding, and makes a little sigh in accceptance. Lily shrugs. "Just the usual trouble." ^^ * Erellisae hmms, tapping a finger on her chin. "Benediction? Discovery?" Discovery sounds good to me. It kinda works. * Dill grins. * Feray waggles her fingers and then rests her chin in her hand. * Cassidy snickers, as if remembering some far off thing.. * Hoo-humm...ummm... The Whiplash. Or maybe that's just wishful thinkin'. ^_^ Lily hmmms. * Nathan hops back downstairs, setting his pack b the door * Jalanda causes the cup to vanish a short way and appear over Dylan's head. Is there a leak in the roof? * Feray arches an eyebrow at Dylan and Jal before coughing softly into her hand, grimacing. She swallows it back roughly, eyes watering with the harshness as she stands. "Anyway, we should GET there first before we name the thing." * Dylan looks at the laughing puffy.. * Mitsuo looks to Dylan, and blinks, "Uh...l don't think so...when did you get coffee all over yourself? Or is that tea?" Hmm... How 'bout the "1000 to 1?" [Lily] Not good for morale, Mikari. ;) * Erellisae nods, standing with Feray as she casts a worried glance at her. "... I like Horizon." ^^ * Jalanda is still pointing stoically at the puffy. "He thought you were looking a bit sleepy yet." Hey, it ups MY morale. ^_- It seems... Dill was bored.. *sigh*. It'd be kinda funny if we named it Goliath or something else fear inspiring....and got there....to find a tiny, eensy ship. Lily gives Jalanda a wry look. Stars on a boat? As in, "starfish?" * Jalanda looks a little self-conscious under the wry gaze, but brushes it off quickly. Well, let's go see it first. I am...got my things too. ^^ Let's go, we can walk and talk, or chew gum. * Nathan pops his pack up with one foot, and catches it, slinging it onto his back, signalling his readiness Lily grabs her pack from where it rests outside the inn, then looks around for Jake, who was nearby last she saw him... * Feray nods slightly, pack at ready, her spear/daggers/sword jutting out slightly. ^^ * Jalanda arises from the table, glancing once at Dylan, then shakes her head to herself. [Lily] Ja~ake? * Mitsuo follows the group, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. Ohhh, Jake! You-a lazy boy! ^_^ * Jake strolls around town, kicking a pair of well worn leather boots at some dust as he wanders around with his hands in his pockets or on resting his belt, staring around the town or at clouds but not looking at anything outside of his own mind. I think the villagers musta given him some'a those "happy herbs" or somethin'. We were just getting ready to head out. Wanna come along? ;) Hmm...'happy herbs', huh? Happy herbs? *blink* * Feray looks at Mitsuo curiously. * Jake smirks and winks, does a gesture with his finger then lets his smirk grow to a grin. "But I'm here at your service now!" Yeah, Feray. ^_~ * Jake doesn't yet ask questions, just stares at her distantly. * Mitsuo follows the group, smiling a bit. Sir Jake, perhaps you could suggest a name for our vessel if you are looking for discussion opportunities. * Erellisae sticks her tongue out at Feray's back and sets off after her at a run. "I'll get you for that!" ^_~ * Nathan takes little interest in the naming of an inatiamte object, and whistles a lively tune * Jake looks over at Jalanda, breaking from his staring. "Uh? Oh, no, I'm horrible with names like that." * Feray blinks and notices she's being chased, speeding up to flounce around Nate slightly, walking backwards and pfffbbbtting at Erel. * Mikari blinks, awkwardly, but then reverts to her "barroom patron of minority gender" mode, thus glaring at him like an unamused parent. * Nathan glances over at Feray, "Sibling rivalry?" ;) * Jake looks away from her, smirk on his lips and whistles. * Erellisae approaches Feray, circling round Nathan in an attempt to pounce :D Hmpf. Lead the way. * Nathan chortles as Feray and Erel play cat-and-mouse * Jake looks around the group again and hovers to the back. * Feray keeps her distance, circling around Nate as well. "Something like that. But of course, she can't catch me...must be those short legs." ;) * Feray twirls and takes off! Remember, its gonna be a small ship, so play nice you two ;) * Jake looks down at the ground for a moment as he walks, brishing his long bangs out of his face when he does with a rake of his fingers. * Mikari drops her rather overdone glare, and returns her attention to the rest of the group... she still seems curious about this odd guide, though. ^^; * Erellisae blinks, then scoots after Feray. "Heeeyyy..! Don't make me use magic to catch you..!" ^_~ Hey, wait up you guys! * Mitsuo runs after Feray and Erel! O_o * Jalanda keeps a slow and steady pace to the vessel. After a rather animated walk, various taunted arguments, and more fruitless discussion of names, a few hours later the group finds themselves at the entrance to what seems to be a village, but most of it seems to be taken up by the harbor... Many boats are moored along the main pier, and the water sparkles in the sunlight. Lily stops, scanning the harbor for a minute. So...let's see this ship [Lily] Well, here we are, Southport... where is it? Ah! There's our ship. *She points...* I think we should call it the 'Sea Cucumber' * Cassidy looks over at the vessel.. * * Jalanda looks up from the shade of her hood towards the direction Lily points. * Nathan looks in the indicated direction The little ship is small but elegant, sails sparkling white in the sun. ^^ * Feray is now carrying Erel on her back in a piggyback style, walking jauntily along and whistling softly. She arches an eyebrow. "Nice." Lily chuckles at Dylan's suggestion, then starts walking toward the pier. Whoa.... It is a brave spirit it has. That's it eh? Not a bad looking ship * Erellisae blinks at the ships, resting her head on her arms and her arms on Feray's head. "Wow... so which is ours?" ^_^ Off to the right, Lily's ship the Sweet Revenge can be seen. ^_^ * Jake shrugs up his shoulders and tips up his chin to look over people's heads, hands still in his pockets or resting on his belt. Lily takes long strides, heading down to the pier. * Feray trots towards the ship, easily carrying the smaller girl, not minding being used as an armrest ;) * Jalanda follows Lily, eager to see it a bit more close up. * Nathan follows along * Mikari sets her hands on her hips and scans the harbor. * Erellisae grins at the Sweet Revenge. "I like that one. Can we take it?" ^_~ * Mitsuo follows behind everyone, glancing around. Not so nautical, m'self, but any fine craft deserves a good name... Lily veers to one side and starts a discussion with an old grizzled sailor who appears to be the ship's previous owner. Some exchanges of papers and money are made, and soon Lily returns to the group... * Jake still stalks around the back of the group. After some time, it becomes apparent that there is a kind of darkness on the horizon, a gray line of clouds, oddly tinged with a strange, glimmering green light... Its good for ya! Makes ya tough ^_^ Feray....you were going to sing? ^^ You looked like you were going to. * Jalanda is half meditating on the deck of the ship, watching the distance. * Jake puts his hands on his hips and turns around from where he was glaring at before, seeing if there is anything else he should attend to. * Erellisae blinks, watching the clouds. Green thunderheads? * Feray jabs a finger at the clouds and frowns, settling back into the crows nest and propping her feet up against the railing...she tugs out a scroll from her pack and begins to scribble something.. * Mikari comes out from around the back of the boat, and eyes the rigging with a slightly mischievous expression. Well...sometimes during a huge storm...the clouds can be weirdly colored... * Jake looks curiously back up, then goes off. * Jake looks for Fidelio. * Nathan heads to the prow and stares As they get closer to the cloud bank, they can see the green light playing on the clouds like a reflection... ....That's not normal... They sail underneath the cloud bank, and the sun disappears. Looking out over the ship's railing, they can see that the water is very smooth, calm, and cool green, almost like glass. ....scribbled on to death? Whoa...is the water making the strange colors? That's incredible...I've never seen sea water this vibrant before... ... * Jalanda opens her eyes a bit wider as the scenery changes. * Dylan spits over the side How is it sailing, Fidelio? Is it as smooth as it looks? * Nathan watches the green water, realization dawning on him I... wow... Hmm.. I don't suppose this could be the Talachian Triangle.. I'd heard about it, but I'd never been there before. ...In fact, the ship seems to disturb the water hardly at all, as it closes smoothly over the ripples in the ship's wake almost as soon as they are made. ...Uh...Something tells me by your expressions this is very bad? ^^; * Cassidy looks out over the water. * Until now, I suppose. :P * Feray pauses and blinks as the scenery changes.... * Mikari grins at her success and sits down opposite of Feray as she continues. C'mon, Miss Sneaksalot." * Jalanda brings her scrying crystal towards her, as it begins to flare brightly... almost blindingly so. She straightens... * Erellisae looks off across the water, fingering the pendant still hanging around her neck. :/ A bit more wind fills the sails, but it only helps some, as the thickness of the water is difficult for the little ship to cut through... * Nathan tears himself away from the water, and walks over to Jake Any ideas? "Can you see anything... inside..?" * Jake tilts his head and looks to the distance, listening. A moment later, Fidelio comes huffing and puffing up the stairs, dusting off his hands. Looks it, too. * Jake stops himself, catches his breath, looks like himself again. * Mitsuo uh...hangs onto the ship...because something just tells him he should! ^^; * Dylan sits down on the deck, leans against a barrel, and dozes. Experimental usually means killing oneself, rather than getting killed by the problem you needed the experiment for in the first place. ^^;; A flip of a switch, and a rumbling noise comes from the water behind them. Fidelio cheerfully ignores Jake's request not to call him that. * Jake takes the helm. * Erellisae blinks, then nods slowly. "It's... it's okay. I... worth a try, huh?" She smiles wanly. Fidelio presses another switch, and there is a grinding whine from the water. >_< The ship suddenly springs to life, plowing through the dense magically altered ocean! Yah o_O * Feray flashes Nate a playful smile and then utters a comical SQUEAK as the ship lunges! Whoa!! O_o * Jalanda buckles down, trying to find a hold on something. :o Well, you can't say I'm a boring date ^^; * Cassidy promptly sits back down again, more by circumstance rather than choice, but she hides it well. * * Mikari reflexively drops down to the deck, flat on her front like she was doing a push-up o_o * Erellisae nods, watching the ocean, clasping the medallion like a shield as she stumbles slightly. ^^; The ship picks up speed, the most awful noises coming from whatever engine was installed at the stern. Fidelio looks cheerful as he shouts over noise. "See? I told-a you it would work!" ^_^ Meanwhile, Jake fights for control of the helm :P G..guh...! * Dylan leans against the barrel more heavily Grrrk! * Nathan grabs at Feray before she loses her grip * Dylan calmly puts some cotton wool in his ears. Yet again... *huffs* we are in Madam Lily's debt... * Mitsuo holds on as tight as he can, his small frame getting jerked around a bit as Jake fights for control of the blasted thing. * Feray squeaks and somehow manages to be held against Nate. ^_- * Cassidy shouts over the noise. * Usually, we put those loud things in their own room! It's not so loud then! * Mikari slides around a little bit, having nothing to hold on to, but she gradually regains her footing and makes her way to something to hang on to... "Geez... next time giv'ah little more warnin' than THAT..." * Dylan settles down for a good snoooze. * Jake blinks, a thought suddenly dawining on him. ...Wait, you called me it again! >< The green light flickers on the clouds, almost like the reflection of water on a cave wall when touched by reflected light. * Jake is struck as that suddenly doesn't matter so much. [Fidelio] 'At's right, Jakino! *Waves to him* You're doing great! ^_^ G'h. ._. The ship continues to plow forward, and after a while they can see sunlight on the horizon... So, what's a gorgeous huntress like you doing in a place like this? Other than hanging on for dear life ;) * Mikari starts to give Jake a disbelieving look as she hangs on. ... *Narrows his eyes* Okay... progress. * Erellisae throws a faintly triumphant grin at Nathan and Feray before staggering her way near the front of the ship to watch where they're going, holding the medallion in her hand with the cord wrapped around her wrist. * Jalanda maintains her grip, looking forward approvingly as the light begins to appear. The ship begins to go faster, the water resistance weakening....a beam of light breaks through the clouds, which are beginning to thin out. * Feray utters a startled laugh. "I'm taking up religion, that's what! Praying to whatever gods'll take me that this ship doesn't fall apart!" * Dill covers his eyes with his wings, and whimpers gently I think we're getting through Fidelio hops back to the switches and presses one. After a few seconds, the awful whine of the engine dies down, and the ship slows, its sails billowing gently with the wind. They seem to have made it through the heavy water, the clouds now behind them. * Mikari turns around to look at Feray and Nathan, flirting heavily again, and sighs. She lowers her head downward and looks at the deck. * Jake chokes in and out some haggard breaths as things look a bit brighter. * Cassidy rubs her ears.. * Ugh.. * Feray exhales loudly and sags a bit. ^^; * Nathan lets go of the mast as the ship slows ...Jeeks.. That was.. ... *Eyes behind him from the wheel.* * Jake quickly regains his composure. * Erellisae looks back slowly to the area they just travelled through. "... ancient magic..." OK, I think we made it :) Fidelio makes his way back to the others. [Fidelio] There! That wasn't-a so bad, now was it? ^_^ * Feray arches an eyebrow at Nate for a moment before tugging free of him gently. She grins. "Yeah, we did. We're not dead, yay!" Yay us ;) * Jalanda begins to loosen her grip from the ship's railing. "You are quite the engineer in a pinch, sir Fidelio." * Dylan snores Yeah. * Mitsuo remains silent. * Mikari takes the chance to turn around and look at where they came from, squinting from the light of the morning sun. * Cassidy stands up, going to have a look at the oceanic expanse now.. * Fidelio shakes his head. [Fidelio] No, you just-a follow-a the instructions! It's easy, no? ^_^ Well, let's see. What next? * Jake smirks at Fidelio. "Wish I could have been more of service. I'll be less... distracted next time." Well, I guess we keep going Fidelio claps Jake hard on the back. [Fidelio] You are wonderful though, Jakino! Admirable! Good-a work, no? Thanks, buddy. A faint, distant sound can be heard ahead of them...eerie and keening. * Nathan looks back at the receeding green barrier ...? * Feray perks an ear. What's that? ....Do you hear that? I've found I'm a pretty hands on sort of--- Ahh no... * Mikari jerks her head up to the conversing rabbitman and oddball duo, raising an eyebrow again, still not sure what to make of their transporters. If it's another mermaid, I'm going to be UPSET. --;...no offense, Nathan. * Cassidy hmms.. * * Erellisae blinks, looking ahead before scrambling to the side of the boat and looking out for any land. Listening carefully, they can hear that it sounds almost like human voices, calling out endlessly, though they can't make out what is being said. * Jalanda looks behind the ship towards the green waters with Mikari. "It could yet be so...." She then looks forward again as the noise hits her rather sensitive ears. * Jake perks a sassy expression at the aproching Mikari despite the danger. * Feray hurries up beside Erel and furrows her brow.. * Mikari turns her head again. "Why is it open sea is ne'er just open anymore?... Agh... s'why I prefer flyin'..." None taken Mits Hmm.. should we be getting the menfolk some earplugs? ...It can't be mermaids...I'd be drooling by now. So what is it...? * Erellisae looks back at Feray a moment, biting her lip. "It might be..." * Nathan listens, curious * Jalanda closes her eyes, and listens very carefully. Fidelio squints, looking ahead of them. He blinks. [Fidelio] I think I see-a land ahead, no? A small island maybe... * Feray murmurs softly. "Don't jump the gun....let's wait and see...might be Banshees..." ... * Jake turns away from the temptation of the lovely lady and looks off. An island? * Erellisae looks forward again, biting her lip in thought, before holding out the medallion still in her palm. :/ Is that making the noise? * Nathan looks forward, trying to make things out Sure enough, a small island can be seen ahead of them. Around it circle small shapes, flying in the air all around it. The voices seem to be coming from them... ...? ...Birds? * Mikari sprints over to the others, oblivious to Jake's reactions for the moment. «ooc: Witches: Yes, go my flying monkey! Get that Lumian...and her little carro too! » As they draw closer, the shapes come into focus. They are birds, of many sizes and almost any color imaginable, flying and perching on trees, calling out in almost human voices. * Feray squints. ..? I'm not liking this. What are they? They're beautiful colors, though.... * Erellisae blinks at the birds, before sighing lowly, putting away the medallion. (m) "And I was sure..." This is one of the most eventful trips sailing I've ever had. The tiny island has a bit of vegetation and some trees, and the shore is rocky. On one side of the island is a large house, apparently.... ...lonliness and solitude... Fidelio frowns. [Fidelio] Hmmm. What shall we do...? ..Well. * Feray offers Erel a soft squeeze of the elbow... Well, a house means civilization. So we might as well visit. Birds... they look pretty 'nough; I hope they /are/ harmless. People I used to sail with would call this a bad omen, but I doubt our passengers care. Fidelio nods, then goes to drop anchor. There is no danger. * Cassidy grins. * What's the worst that could happen? * Jake looks over at Jalanda. * Erellisae gives Feray a wan smile. "Just jumping at everything today... but... I'd still like to check it out." * Mikari turns to Jalanda with interest. "Hmm." Horrific screaming death? * Jalanda stops concentrating. "However, is there true peace is a better question." * Dill flies around, puffing at the birds In short order, Fidelio has the sails and anchor taken care of and is lowering the longboat. [Fidelio] Right, who is-a going? I will stay with the ship... * Cassidy's grin grows larger. * Exactly, Nathan. And that's not so bad. I'll go. We'll survive. I'll go. Might as well I'm going. * Erellisae stands up slowly with a nod. "... I'm going." Fidelio nods and takes a station by the longboat, ready to lower it. * Feray eyes the house. * Jake walks over to Fidelio, bends down. He looks a little silly with the mogay, being 6'2. ^^;; * Dylan snores. You need help? Fidelio blinks at Dylan. * Cassidy speaks to the Mogay. * As long as he doesn't sleep through an attack, it's okay for him to nap. Fidelio looks at Jake and shakes his head. Hey, if something wakes him up, maybe he'll fight better because he'll be angry. [Fidelio] No, I think I can-a take care of the ship myself, no? You go with the others. Have-a some fun, eh? * Jalanda steps over to Dylan, shaking his shoulder once. Eh. I feel bad leaving a ship this big with one man--er--mogay. Fidelio nods doubtfully to Cassidy. * Dylan wakes up and pulls the wool form his ears. Hmm? We out of the jello yet? [Fidelio] Nonono, you go on. ^_^ ... * Jake looks over at some of the girls. ..... I go, if that's OK. Yes, there is something you should see, Dylan. * Dylan looks around.. Birds.. hm.. C'mon Dill, time to expore. * Nathan heads for the longboat * Mitsuo follows Nathan. A bird flies close and lands on Erellisae's head, then starts nibbling her hair. * Jake slides over along with the group. "Well, I've been told to hve a little fun. Room for one more, or will I rock the boat? ^_^" * Erellisae heads after the two, looking serious and determined... at least until she's landed on. o_O; * Feray turns to eye the bird, tensing a bit. If you like Jake The bird cocks its head at Feray, giving her almost a reproachful glare, then lets out a cry and takes flight again. * Feray raises an eyebrow. * Mikari secures her weapons to her belt, then starts towards the gangplank... but stops when the bird lands, her brow furrowing. ...Uh... ^^; * Erellisae blinks up at the bird. "... I just remembered. Last time I had a bird flying around I nearly got et." ^^; * Jake watches the bird go and shrugs to Nathan. "I'd be glad to if you'll have me." Fidelio waits for everyone to be ready to go. Don't worry Erel...no birds'll eat you while I'm around. :) * Cassidy hops into the boat, trying to wedge herself in as best she can. * * Dylan climbs into the longboat, Dill landing on his shoulder * Nathan waves Jake towards the longboat * Jalanda follows the bunch towards the boat, having roused the sleeping Dylan. She bows to Fidelio. "Please be careful." * Jake snakes his way into the boat and makes hyimself comfortable. * Feray eyes the flying bird before shrugging, hopping into the boat. She lands next to Jake and peers down at the water curiously. * Jake takes an oar and prepares to row to shore. * Mikari steps into the boat last. * Erellisae still looks rather perturbed, sticking close to Feray. ^^; * Nathan steps into the longboat, helping the others board * Jalanda looks peaceful, but tense at the same time. You're not sure which she is more. * Feray notices Erel's expression and casts her a grin. "Don't worry, your little bird friend didn't seem to like me much." Fidelio lowers the boat and it splashes gently into the water. It isn't far to shore... * Mitsuo looks a touch tense...but maybe also a little confused. * Jake gingerly rows. * Erellisae smiles a little wanly, still clutching the medallion in one hand. "Feray, scarer of birds everywhere?" ^^; * Mikari taps her fingers on the side of the boat, impatiently. ^^; * Nathan chuckles Oh yeah. They fear my good looks and witty banter. * Feray waggles an eyebrow. I know I do. Relax, Mits. It's a tropical island. A far cry from all those cold dark ruins. Smile man. Remember what I told you about smiling? Scares the bejeezus out of me, Feray. * Feray blinks and laughs. ^^; * Nathan laughs at Jake's remark Er, um...yeah! ^^; * Mitsuo smiles. It's just the last time we saw exotic birds it tried to eat us. * Jake smirks but says no more and gets people to shore. This is much different... * Cassidy smiles back, nodding confidently. * We're bigger and badder now. Birds aren't a problem. The longboat gently bumps against the rocky shoreline. A few birds perch on nearby trees to watch, but they take no other action. * Nathan hops out of the boat, and looks around Heh. I'm not worried about the birds now. Just bein' stuck on an island with no plane. But 'at's just me, I guess. Bigger and badder, huh? * Erellisae looks across at Mits, smiling a little. "We'll be okay, I'm sure." ^^ She stands up slowly after the boat bumps ashore. * Cassidy nods. * You bet. Think big, and you are big. * Feray hops out and eyes the birds warily. * Mitsuo looks down at his arm, seeing if he really is bigger and badder by seeing an abudance of muscles. Mitsuo has no muscles, this is dissapointed. :| Looks OK so far. Just keep an eye out * Erellisae steps out after Feray, eying the trees warily. "... it's awfully tempting just to preemptively blow them up" ^^; * Jake grabs the side of the boat and hops out with a neat descent. The waves crash against the rocks, almost reaching to the foundations of the house, which seems perched on the shoreline. * Cassidy nods. * Sure. ^^;; As long as you're one of those guys who doesn't throw the match 'cause I'm a girl. * Erellisae salutes Feray. "Aye aye. Only minor forest fires and large explosions for me." ^^; Deal. ^^ * Jake shakes his hair, huffs, and trudges.. following. * Cassidy hops out of the boat as well. * The house is of odd design, with a strange tile roof and walls embedded with colored stones in a mosaic sort of design, with many different images, of birds and eyes and flames... * Nathan tromps closer to the house * Jalanda nods, and begins pulling the longboat a bit onto the shore. * Jake stares curiously at the house. Huh. Bizzare... * Erellisae looks around, checking on the group a little before blinking at the house. "Looks like those 'Houses 'o' Fun' you see at the fairs..." * Feray calls out to the house. "Helllloo?" * Nathan looks for a front door All is silent from within... Well gee, this is delightfully eerie. There is a front door on the side opposite the shore. * Nathan walks to the front door and knocks So, who wants to open that up and set off the trap, huh? There is no answer. Nathan's knock echoes gently; there is no other sound but bird calls. ... depends. Does blowing it open with a spell count? ^^; * Jake paces around the building, looking down at twigs with his hands behind his back. * Erellisae seems a little on edge. ^^; * Nathan checks to see if the door's locked Hmph. It has the air of a place long abandoned...yet it seems in good repair, the air not too musty, and the furniture mostly untouched by dust. * Jake stalks behind the group, bringing up the rear unless someone brings it up for him. Hmm...curious * Erellisae blinks up at Jake, then shrugs slightly with a wan smile, following the others in. It's a small house, with a few main rooms. The one nearest the door contains a large table, with covered dishes of food on it. ... * Jake smiles back at Erel and cautiously waves cutely. ^^;; * Feray eyes the covered dishes and steps forth, bravely lifting the top from one. From the back of the house comes the sound of crashing waves; it sounds as if the place is built right on top of the shoreline. * Mikari eyes the food and goes over to sniff the lot of it. * Jake then turns his face forward and narrows a deep, dusky-eyed glare into the darkness. * Jalanda steps lightly up to the house, but does not enter. Instead she gazes at the patterns of the gems and mosiacs intently. * Mitsuo looks over Feray's shoulder at the food, standing on his tippy toes. * Cassidy wanders off to take a look at the terrain around the house outside.. * A delicious smell wafts from a wine cake underneath the cover Feray lifts. Huh.. * Feray's stomach growls. ...Well, they haven't been here long at any rate. * Mitsuo hmms, and goes to investigate the back of the house. * Nathan ignores the food for now, and looks elsewhere * Erellisae blinks, looking around carefully as she paces her way inside. I have a baaad feeling about this place." :/ Uh, Feray, better curb that stomach'a yours. ^^; 'snot a good idea to eat food at random. * Feray idly uncovers some other dishes, being weird like that! Hmph, give me some credit, Mikari. ;) From the back of the house Mitsuo hears a creaking, rhythmic sound....a doorway leads into a room with a distinct smell of sea salt. * Mitsuo raises an eyebrow, and gulping a little, heads through the doorway to see what's in the room. Heh. Your stomach's givin' ya away, Ferry. ^_~ Didn'tcha eat breakfast? Feray discovers several different kinds of food, most of them breads and cakes, and a few bottles of wine. Just an egg or two.. * Feray points at the wine. ^^ * Jalanda looks over her shoulder at one of the birds. * Jake continues to stalk around, sneaking very well. As Mitsuo enters the room, a large salmon strikes him in the forehead with a loud, moist, FWAP! O_o AGH! O_o ?? Mitsuo?! * Feray twirls and heads for the sound of Mitsuo's voice. Mitsuo?! O_o What the hell....?? * Mitsuo falls over, knocking over serveral pots and pans as he goes down! What th--?" * Mitsuo lies sprawled on the ground, sort of dazed, with a giant dead salmon on his face. * Mikari looks through the door, searching for the offending fish-flinger. >:| * Feray ducks into a roll, coming up with her spear drawn towards the source of the flying fish. G...Get it off! X_x Stop it, whoever you are! Whu? Woah, someone's totally throwing fish. * Jake looks around suspiciously. The room appears to be a kitchen. At the back, a strange mechanical device has a lever that dips through a hole in the wall into the ocean, then flings fish back into the house at periodic intervals. O_o .... The hell? You have to be kidding me. * Erellisae blinks, stumbling backwards before charging her magic up... and blinking at the strange device. ^^;; * Mitsuo pushes the fish off of his face. ^^; The heck is that? * Mikari looks at it closely, then sheathes her knife and just starts laughing. * Jake raises a hand, a look of honesty crossing his face. "that was me." A fish flinger apparently. ^^; It's... uh... a... fish-throwing... machine... On the counter, several fish are in various states of preparation. Some are smoked, some are simmering over a stove in a pool of spices and oil, some are being cleaned...yet there is no cook in sight. Guh...@_@ ... * Feray stares a little. ...huh. * Jake gets distracted by the cooking supplies. ... Hey, wow. * Feray shrugs and tucks her spear away, turning to hurriedly follow after Nate's exit.. Jake can see a huge variety of pots, pans, spices, and various cooking utensils. * Erellisae nods, sweatdropping and helping Mitsuo up some. "... now... who would build that?" ^^; * Nathan pokes around in other rooms, hopefully for signs of someone See anything, Nate? * Mikari makes VERY sure she is not in the potential path of the machine, should it start up again. Whoever this is has -exquisite- taste... this oil... it's very hard to come by and can pep up anything from salad to meats to toast! A cupboard door creaks open...blown by a gust of wind, perhaps...? ...Damn, Jake, you musta gotten smacked pretty good t'be able t'give it a taste test. Maybe it's hard to fish? Especially with that weird water not too far away... * Jake looks over at Mikari, struck out of his little food trance. * Mitsuo hms and opens the cupboard. * Erellisae jumps noticably as the cupboard door creaks. ^^; * Nathan stops, looking around with growing confusion ... She makes a vague gesture at it. "How long has it been?" Inside is a small, green-laced stone, glowing faintly. H...Hey! * Erellisae blinks. "I-is that a...?" It's another stone! * Feray's ear perks towards the cupboard and she turns, quickly heading back to the others...she blinks at the stone. I've been blessed with the name of every other beauty here except for you and.. *Looks over at the shiny stone, looks back* ...and I'd like to get to know you, as well as possible. * Mitsuo reaches inside and pulls it out, a strange expression on his face. * Mikari steps up, suitably surprised, and eyes Mitsuo's find suspiciously. * Nathan hangs back, concern gnawing at him * Mitsuo smiles a bit, "Calm down...it's genuine...I'm...pretty sure." * Jake breathes out, a little heavily, puffing up at his bangs in minor exasperation. * Mitsuo's expression darkens just slightly, but then he shakes his head and smiles, "Who doesn't have their own shiny rock? ^_-" The bird makes a noise at Jalanda...again, sounding human, but speaking in no language she knows. However, its meaning seems to linger just past the edge of her understanding... * Mikari blinks and finally notices Jake's little introduction. "Er... sorry. ^^; Mikari Thalsford, don'tcha forget it." Oh, I won't. ;) ...why is it -here-? . o O (This doesn't make sense...) * Mitsuo is still holding onto the stone. * Mikari frowns in that anime female manner of being pissed off yet somewhat flattered. I can tell you that. * Erellisae blinks, stiffening a little and looking down at the medallion in her hand. "..." * Jake shrugs his hands back into his pockets and meanders his gaze casually back at some of the more exotic spices. * Nathan takes a deep breath Hrm.. Let's keep moving, people, anyway... So...what are we gonna do? * Nathan steps back outside, looking at the birds Move? Okay... * Mitsuo hangs onto the spirit stone shard for now. * Jalanda nods faintly to the exotic bird. "...a little farther, then." * Erellisae closes her eyes, remaining still for a short while... before opening her eyes wide. "I... Cassidy, was there anything else nearby? At all?!" And -this- is made from the seed of a certain flower dried, this one seems to be stone ground... and it's a potent aphordesiac.. * Jake side-glares, contemplates. * Mikari eyes Erel as well, starting to wonder if she's not telling the rest of the group something. * Erellisae looks around skitterishly, before closing her eyes again, remaining still... then running forward and opening the cupboard /next/ to the one that Mitsuo opened. o_O ...? What's wrong? * Jalanda turns without a word, then proceed into the house. * Jake opens one of his pouches at his belt and sneakingly pockets a few, fastens it, and is sure to leave more than enough with the owner of these delicacies. * Jake shrugs to himself, smirks, and notices Erel skittering around. * Nathan sits down on a rock and thinks Inside, Erellisae sees a small scroll, tied by ribbon. A faint aura of magic radiates from it. * Jalanda appears in the doorway of the room as Erel rushes over... What the heck? * Erellisae fishes it out with care, looking at it, practically whispering to herself. "... Lumians lived here..." I see you've found... hope. .... ...Well, now THIS is gettin' interestin'. ...Erellisae... * Feray stills and exhales softly. The scroll is very small. Unrolling it, Erellisae can see a short message.... * Jake looks over, furrows his brow. Erel, coulda ya feel that when we walked in here?... 'That why ya were so skiddish? "To those who would seek the Lumians: If your purpose is true, so shall your course be. Rest and prepare for the long journey ahead." * Jake looks a little spooked... takes out a pinch of the dried crushed seeds from one of his poches and puts it back.. * Jalanda folds her arms into the sleeves of her indigo robe, watching the little girl carefully.... What's it say, Ms. Erellisae? * Mikari blinks and frowns. "Guess someone else knew we were comin'... a long time ago, this time..." * Jake folds his arms in front of him, standing in front of the spice rack, and watches Erel. * Erellisae looks over the scroll slowly, before leaning a little heavily against the cupboards, sinking down a little with relief, holding out the scroll. "T-take a look..." Amazing... * Dylan reads the scroll, holding it out for others to read * Mitsuo reads the scroll quickly, then walks to Erel, "...You okay? :/" * Feray scans it quickly before eyeing Erel... * Jalanda shakes her head. "I already knew. But you had to see it for yourself, Erellisae. This is your hope." * Erellisae props herself up on the side, looking an intriguing mixture of worried and excitable and nervous and happy. ^^; "I... y-yeah. 's just... a bit of a big step." Anything else before we leave? * Erellisae nods, holding the scroll almost reverently and biting her lip nervously. "It says to rest... Does that mean that maybe something'll come meet us if we stay...?" I am so not staying in this scary fish house. ^^; * Jake looms over Cassidy's shoulder right now, talks quietly. "Hello, lovely lady. I've been thinking about you." Hmm. Personally I have problem with sleeping on the boat. Any fruit we can grab, Ms. Cassidy? * Mikari turns around, having seen Jake when he was recoiling from the fish, and gives him a sort of pity look. * Cassidy looks up, her hair falling out of her eyes as she gazes at the towering sailor. * ..You have? Really? * Erellisae pauses again, staring at the medallion briefly, then closing her eyes for a short time... * Jake narrows his eyes with a suggestive smirk crossing his lips. "How couldn't I?" * Cassidy still looks up at the seaman as she replies to Dylan. * Nope. «ooc: None for me, although I'm gonna toddle downstairs in a minute for food. » * Erellisae opens her eyes again, with a faint sigh, then a wan smile at the scroll she's still holding. "Can't feel anything else... I guess this was it..." * Jake drops his hands on both of cassidy's shoulders, still behind her, and massages her shoulders. "I was enslaved." Jalanda? * Feray offers Erel a hand up. "Well...look at it this way...." * Cassidy's cheeks go flush, and she turns around to better meet the eyes of Jake, smiling. * * Jalanda seems a bit distant in her response. "yes?" We know something more now. And that's that the Lumians created fish flinging devices. You should be proud. ^_- I've been meaning to give this back to you... ^^: I don't know how I ended up with it... * Mitsuo rummages through his pocket and pulls out the Spirit Stone Shard that belongs to Jalanda, and places it in her hand. * Erellisae takes the hand gratefully, pulling herself to her feet proper. She's still looking nervous, at least until Feray speaks, where she replies in a deadpan. "... my, the secrets of the great Lumian tribe, huh?" * Jake looks down at her and smiles cooly back. * Jalanda holds her hand out, then looks at the stone a long while... she smiles a little bit. * Mikari eyes Jake, frowning severely. She is very tempted to whack him upside the head with something heavy and metallic. * Dylan leans against a wall of the shack * Mitsuo smiles back. ^^ "Anyway, sorry I kept it for so long." * Feray grins wryly at Erel. "Yep. I bet you have some secret last name that I've inherited now. Erellisae FishFlinger Baran. Feray Lupris FishFlinger." * Erellisae giggles slightly, then looks serious, glancing around the house, then up to Feray. "I'd... like to stay a while... just in case..." * Jake leans down a little further. He trails his hands from her shoulders to her shoulder blades and just about rests his chin on her shoulder. * Feray eyes Erel. There's no reason to be sorry... everything happens for a reason. * Feray grimaces just a little. And then sighs. * Mikari gets a better idea, and steps away from the group. She casually walks over to the fish-flinging machine, and adjusts it so that the next shot is aimed at Jake's head again. ...alright, alright. But I'm so not sleeping in the fish flinging room. ^^; * Nathan gives up trying to understand, and just watches the birds for a while The device jerks at Mikari's touch, scooping up another fish and hurling it into the room. * Cassidy blinks a moment, stepping back from Jake, and resuming her upward gaze at him. * *FWAPF* I can't help myself... ...So tell me something... or say nothing and keep me enslav-- * Jalanda puts her hands around it, and places it back into Mitsuo's. Eugh. Gimme something that you hunt down in a forest and stab to death. Uh.. * Erellisae blinks, and looks up at Feray. "We could... put the dead fish in a forest. There's tons of it in New Parm....Especially when you live near the docks. ^^; This place is a sanctuary, we would do well to remain here before the great storm approaching. * Jake gestures over Mitsuo. He speaks in hushed tones. I think there's enough for everyone. * Erellisae nods to Feray. "I'm... gonna look around a bit closer. Maybe... maybe something else is here." She heads out into the main hall. ...That particular mix seems to be custom made to season fish right there... *Jake points, still hushed, like he wants only Mitsuo to hear.* * Feray eyes Erel before shrugging and heading to a wall, slumping down it and beginning to write once more. This one? *points* That herb? Yeah, that mix. * Jake forgets his tone. * Nathan flops out on the sand to dry off, watchig the clouds drift by * Mitsuo shrugs, "I don't recognize it...it better be good. :)" You know, non-poisonous and all of that. ^_- ...Well, sounds like Jake's th'gourmet chef 'ere. Ya gonna make us dinner, 'en, slickboy? Hmm. This place got any beds? * Mitsuo goes to making dinner. After consulting together, Mitsuo and Jake manage to mix up a divine dinner for everyone. The various dishes on the table add to it, each one tasting different to each person... It's a bunch combined... I recognise most of them. Many of the dishes taste to each person like that person's favorite food. Overall, the atmosphere is very odd, very eerie, and very magical. * Jake undoes a pouch and plops it in Mitsuo's hand. he whispers again. "If you do the salad. Give it back to me when you're through." After dinner, they peer into another room and discover just enough beds for each of them... * Jake slithers away from the cooking area.. ^^; Hmm. No double beds. How did they know? * Jalanda lowers her hood, sniffing the air a bit at dinner. "Qute an interesting mix of spices. Some are from very far." ... * Mitsuo gets a rakish grin all of a sudden. Cassidy? ^^ Yep? You know how I asked if we could have an arm wrestling contest? * Erellisae, after her initial skittishness, appears to have become probably the most sedate half the party have seen her, as she looks rather spaced out throughout dinner. ^^; I changed my mind. ^^ I think...and Erel is going to kill me for this... * Mitsuo grabs a bottle of wine. * Cassidy stops rolling up her sleeve. * ..Oh? There's just so much of it...and I bet I can win. ^_- * Mikari spends little time talking, considering she has a quality meal before her. * Cassidy smirks. * You think, huh? * Feray pauses in her writing, eyeing Mitsuo idly. "I /have/ to keep a record of what goes on here. There's no way I'm gonna let either of them forget anything dumb they do tonight." ^_~ One...two...three! * Mitsuo starts to drink! ^^; * Feray snorts. ^^; * Jake takes a seat and gets comfortable, helping himself to some of the boose as well. * Cassidy downs the wine quickly, setting down the glass, and smiling. * * Feray reaches out to pat Erel on the shoulder and then stands, staggering to a bed, flopping onto it with a wince. * Nathan sits down on a bed, counting the stars as they come into view through the window * Mitsuo sits down his glass, and shakes his head a little, "Strong stuff..." * Jalanda walks to a bed and sets down for the night without another word. .o( Don't grow up too fast Mitsuo... ) * Erellisae eyes Feray worriedly a moment, then goes back to watching the contest with vague interest. ^^; * Cassidy licks her lips, chasing the aftertaste, still smiling. * It's, uh, not that bad. * Mikari shakes her head at the alcohol amateur, grins a little, and simply enjoys her own for the moment without commenting. * Dylan goes to bed, smirking slightly. * Feray curls up, signs her name to the bottom of the paper she's been writing on, and stuffs it into her pack...she utters a soft sigh, hugging a pillow to herself and burying her face in it to quiet herself as she tries to sleep. * Jake hunches over onto his lap, arms resting on his thighs, crossed over each other, either hand cradling the opposite elbow. * Nathan gives up his musings and goes quietly to bed Time passes, wine is drunk, and most of the party goes to bed. Finally, once Cassidy has passed out where she sits, a very tipsy Mitsuo goes to bed as well... Time passes, wine is drunk, and most of the party goes to bed. Finally, the battle very close, Mitsuo passes out on the table, an extremely drunk Cassidy not far behind him. The morning dawns on a well-rested group, except for two young adventurers with awful hangovers. ^^; * Mitsuo murfles a bit on the table as he breathes into a placemat. X_x * Erellisae hasn't given her usual call of good morning, instead to be found up rather early in the main room, gazing out a window in thought. * Nathan is rather slow to awaken today * Jalanda seems to be mumbling incomprehensibly in her sleep. * Dylan gets up early, the sea breeze refreshing him, and checks on the ship in the pre-dawn light. * Feray doesn't move.. ...Gnnn....I think I lost...X_X * Jake is outdoors. * Erellisae closes up her diary that she's been writing in with a faint sigh, before looking to getting people awake. "I'm not telling. You'll have to remember yourself." ^^ * Mitsuo looks up at Erel with bloodshot eyes, trying to discern if she's angry with him. ^^; * Cassidy lets out a sort of agonizing moan, burps once, then drifts off again.. * Breakfast is sitting on the table in the morning, very fresh, apparently... * Erellisae responds by sticking her tongue out at Mitsuo and winking, with a sing-song voice. "I remember what you did last niiiight..." ^_~ ...Ugggghhhh. * Mitsuo flops back down on the table. * Jake leans against the side of the mosaic house, staring out at the sea and at the ship. So much for my bravado....X_x * Erellisae makes her way next to Feray. "Hey, c'mon, sis. Time to go up and 'at em." ^^ * Mikari comes out of her room herself, looking a bit tired, but nothing compared to the two underage drinkers that just crawled out into the light. * Feray doesn't respond, her muscles twitching hard. ...so dark... her light... fading... too fast...-- * Jake looks down at a sandy shell and kicks it aside with his boot and loosens the cross crossing laces on his shirt. * Erellisae blinks, eyes widening at Jalanda's mumbled words before shaking Feray a little. "H-hey...? Sis...?" * Cassidy is quite unconscious yet.. * * Jalanda snaps to awareness in the bed after blurting that out. * Mitsuo struggles to sit up, and manages to. He looks quite pale. ^^; Never doing a drinking contest again.... * Feray utters a sharp yelp and jerks backwards from Erel's touch, sucking in a sharp breath, her eyes dazed. She stares at Erel uncomprehendingly for a moment. * Feray squints... ...Erel? * Erellisae gasps as Feray slams up, staggering back before launching herself forward into a hug. ^^;; * Feray squeaks X_x Ggg...gack! * Feray's skin feels oddly warm to the touch, though, as she hugs Erel back. "Wha...what's wrong?" ^^; * Jalanda looks across at Feray and Erel as she comes to her full senses. * Erellisae hugs... a little less tightly. ^^; "Thank Liete... you wouldn't wake up... you /scared/ me there..." Oh...uhn...sorry... think I was having a....anyway, I'm okay...really. ^^; * Mitsuo flops over to the floor with a THUD. X_x * Cassidy sits up, at the sound of the thud, her hair very messy and with a pounding headache.. * ...Uuuhhhhhh.... * Feray stares and points at Cass over Erel's head. "Holy he-....aaah! Monster!" * Erellisae watches Feray carefully, still staying latched onto her even as she acquiesces with a faint smile. "Okay... I'm... /really/ glad you're okay... and /that/ serves Mits and Cass right." ^^; * Feray blinks down at Erel and gives her a faint smile, ruffling her hair. * Cassidy's eardrums explode at the sound of Feray's shriek! Her eyes bulge for a moment, before she flops over backwards and covers her head with the nearest pillow.. * * Nathan rolls over in bed, pulling the covers up closer around him * Jake stares out at the sea, considers going to check on Fidelio. * Jalanda sits up in the bed, looking a bit shooken up. "Feray, whatever happens, don't forget what you are looking for..." * Dylan left earlier to check on the ship. ....? * Feray blinks. ^^; * Erellisae grins, turning in the hug with Feray to waggle a finger at Cassidy and actually look vaguely her age as she lectures. "I warned you, Cassidy..." ^^; * Jake shrugs an animated little shrug and with pep in his heels, nearly skips back to the mosaicy home. * Feray gazes at Jal, not comprehending at all, and then gently free's herself of Erel's hold, chuckling. ^^; C'mon....we should get outta here... * Cassidy mutters something from underneath the pillow, but it's too muffled to understand. But that's okay, it was probably pretty unpleasant. * * Jake looks side to side, making sure no one saw him, his fluffy hair swishing from side to side, then sneaks back in cooly. Breakfast smells inviting from the table, and the day is wearing on....everyone feels it is time to get moving. * Mitsuo does not feel like moving. Leave him alone. ;_; * Mikari flops down at the table, very enticed by the smell, as she finds herself quite hungry once again. * Jake waves with one smooth gesture, an inquiring look on his face in the doorway with just his hand and face really visible. ? * Feray grabs her pillow idly and throws it hard at the Nate shaped lump as she stands * Dylan walks back into the building, sniffing * Feray wobbles a little, sits back down on the bed for a moment, and then tries again. "Wakey wakey, sailor. C'mon, Cass, you'll feel better once you eat." Breakfast. Nrom. * Jalanda forces herself up, half-mumbling still to Feray. "Sometimes the only way to fight is to let go and trust your instincts alone." * Erellisae gets to her feet, still sticking close to Feray, and eyes the Mitsuo-lump. "... should I get a stick and just... prod him til he shows signs of life?" ^^;; * Jake smiles a bit at someone touching breakfast. * Cassidy clamps the pillow to her face, continuing to mutter things from underneath it. * Just, remember this. * Nathan mumbles as he's struck, rustling about under the covers as he wakens * Feray eyes Jal curiously now. * Feray nods idly to Erel.. * Mikari wordlessly scarfs on her hot morning meal. One must not interrupt. For it is breakfast. Mmmgghhh...go'way ow pain... * Nathan slowly crawls out of bed, getting ready for who-knows-what * Erellisae grins, looking a lot less worried and nervous. She grabs some food on her way outside, then returns carrying a small branch. ^^; * Jalanda bows her head to Feray, then grabs her robes. She was quite serious, whatever it was sounded like a strong warning. * Jake runs his fingers along the side of the door, needing something to occupy his hands. "How is everyone?" The dirty dishes from the night before appear to have vanished. * Feray furrows her brow, standing there for a moment blankly. * Feray shakes her head and heads to Cass, grabbing the pillow and forcibly prying it away. * Erellisae pops back past Jake, with a grin and a nod to Mitsuo and a "See for yourself." ^^ Hah! * Cassidy lets out a squeal as the light of day hits her face! * * Erellisae sits down next to Mitsuo, ready to prod him in the side with the branch. "Hey, Mitsuo, c'mon and up and at 'em too." ^^ Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Man, you're just as bad as Rion was...some things weren't faked. ;) C'mon, girl, you'll only feel worse if you lie there. X_x * Cassidy closes her eyes tightly.. * Oh no.. please.. just another few hours.. several hours, even... * Jalanda stumbles into the main room, adopting her usual posture and poise with each step. She casts a glance at the mysteriously absent dishes. * Erellisae lowers the branch with an expression of dismay. "... I can't do it. I just can't poke him repeatedly with a stick like I can Feray." ;_; I'm up. O_o * Nathan stumbles to the breakfast table, and eats quietly * Feray shakes her head and places a soft touch on Cass's cheek, murmuring the words to ¤ Beef Jerky. Snap into it, baby. Feray uses Beef Jerky. Cassidy feels some of her hangover go away! * Jake snickers a little under his breath. There. Now get up ;) * Feray trots away to the main room, slumping in a chair. Hrmpf. Do Jalanda and I have to purge the poison from your bodies? * Erellisae shakes the branch like the traditional determined hummingbird at Mitsuo. "You better be! Drinking all night... do either of you remember who won?" ^_~ * Cassidy massages her temples, and obediently, albeit slowly, complies.. * * Feray stares. So what's the plan? Erel, I didn't actually mean get a stick and poke at him. ^^; Uh... Considering I woke up at a table... and Cassidy was in a BED... I assume I lost? ^^; * Erellisae blinks, and lowers the branch. "... aw." * Feray snorts and then eyes Nate. Guess we keep going." Hmm.. I made it to my bed? ..Wow.. * Nathan finishes breakfast, snags another orange, and makes for the ship * Jalanda turns around, and has her turn now to study the two hungover allies... * Jake walks in leasurely and stretches with his arms over his head, arching his back like a cat while he does then leans over to grab his shirt from a chair. * Jake slips it on ofer his head and walks back out the door. * Erellisae giggles and pats poor Mitsuo on the head. "Aw... well, I'm sure it was a lot of fun... until you woke up with a blinding headache and all." ^^; After dragging themselves out of bed, eating some breakfast, and collecting their things, the party climbs into their boat and rows back to the ship, the farewell cries of the strange, colorful birds seeing them off. Once aboard Alent's Light, Fidelio sets the sails and raises the anchor, and they are off. They sail for half the day, this time a pleasant and mostly uneventful journey... * Nathan stands at the prow once again, watching the ship plough through the water * Dylan pratices walking and swinging his mace on deck, hoping not to be off-balance if a fight occur.. * Jake is napping on a barrel. * Mitsuo sits off in the corner, looking ill. Finally, at about mid afternoon, they spy land ahead of them. This time it is no small island. Still an island, its shoreline stretches across a great deal of the horizon in either direction. It is crowned by mountains shrouded in mist, with cliffs and massive amounts of greenery and clear waterfalls. A gentle mist hangs over much of the island; it is cooler here. * Jake is no longer napping on a barrel. Uh....wha...what's that? *burp* * Nathan watches the land approach with interest Mountains.. * Jake has on his leather vest again. * Dylan looks lost in nostalgia.. * Feray was dozing, her skin a pale color, but immediately snaps to attention at the approaching scenery... Whatever it is.. hopefully it doesn't have as much booze as the other place.. On the shore, they can see a settlement... * Jalanda is leaning on the ship's railing, seemingly much more burdened than when she arrived at the island. She watches it approach with a careful eye. People...people...with apsirin! ;_; Look! A town! Civilization... * Mikari perches on the railing of the ship, watching the shoreline. * Erellisae has been at the front of the boat, remaining vaguely spaced out all day. At the sign of civilisation she animates again, peering over the side to try to see more details. * Feray grabs a rope and swings down once more, landing nimbly. She hurries to Nate's side.. Hey Town, perhaps...although as they get closer, it becomes clear that the settlement is not so much a town as a large camp. Several vehicles, similar to wagons but apparently designed to easily traverse cliff trails, are parked here and there. Hey there. Look! We're discovering new lands and towns! Yay us? Yay us indeed ^_^ * Jake squints at it. Huh. * Feray nudges Nate playfully. "So stop looking like someone stomped your pet lobster." ;) * Jalanda blinks. Yes mom ;) Pretty... * Mitsuo rubs his head. Fidelio approaches. "Going ashore?" ^_^ Yep :) * Feray snorts and grins, turning and noticing Mitsuo. * Erellisae watches the town carefully, that worried-excited look returning. "... yeah. Definitely ashore..." Indeed. ...woah. Sickly much, fiddler? * Jake helps Fidelio with ship-like things. We must ask about Feena.. ...I thought for a moment I felt her presence nearby. * Jalanda squints. Yeah...X_x Oh really? * Feray heads to Mitsuo and touches his cheek! :D ¤ Beef Jerky! Snap into it, baby! * Mitsuo is snapped into it and nearly topples over! O_o Woah there! Jake and Fidelio see about dropping anchor and preparing the ship to settle in the bay for a while. Fidelio prepares the longboat to take them ashore. ...How do you do that? O_o * Feray waggles her fingers. I've got special hands. ^_- Indeed. ^_- * Nathan heads to the longboat, helping the others if needed [Fidelio] Is everyone-a going? I will go, unless Jake wishes to. ^^ All right, Jakino? You go ahead. * Mikari turns and looks over to Jalanda. "Whatcha thinkin' we'll see ahead, antennae girl?" Fidelio nods and climbs into the boat. Make sure they don't hurt you. ;) Someone is definitely waiting for us. * Feray trots to the boat and winks at Erel. "C'mon, littlebit, you're going to miss the bus." Fidelio salutes! I got fished for spreading the love. * Jake salutes back. * Feray hops into the longboat! ^^;; * Erellisae nods, standing up and hurrying to the boat rather fast. ^^; In ya go folks, let's go Gah! O-o Wait for me! * Mitsuo pushes himself of the ground and runs to the long boat...and trips! O_o * Cassidy drops herself into the boat. * Come on Mits, you too ;) * Mitsuo uh...hauls himself up again and steps inside ^^; Once everyone is in the boat, Fidelio signals for Jake to lower them to the water. * Jake lowers them down. Fish might jump out of the sea to tail-slap you! * Mikari looks out ahead to where they're going, leaning on the side of the boat. * Nathan starts rowing * Jake isn't quite sure how to respond to that. * Jake shrugs. It's a short trip to the shore. When they arrive, they can see the settlement centered in a nearby meadow, surrounded by forested land. A low hum of music from various parts of the settlement echoes through the area. The atmosphere is generally cheerful, and while the inhabitants work, they sing or hum. As they see the newcomers approach, some look up with interest. Others wave. Nice.. Hmm. Not suprised to see us.. from the east? Hmm.. a fairly upbeat seeming place. * Erellisae looks up from where she's huddled against Feray, looking nervous. ^^; * Nathan looks around for anything interesting This place is beautiful... * Feray blinks down at Erel and squeezes her softly. The town is made up of many tents and a few makeshift buildings, and some people obviously live straight out of the wagons. Near one of the semi-permanent buildings they can see a small crowd of people, clustered around someone in the middle, listening intently... Well, let's see about finding a friendly naitive * Nathan heads for the crowd Huh... * Feray trots after Nate curiously.. * Erellisae smiles a little wanly, before heading out the boat and looking around. :/ The people all look fairly human; fair coloring seems to dominate, with blond and red hair colors for the most part... * Jalanda scans the environ with intensity from beneath her shaded hood. As they approach the crowd clustered near what appears to be an inn of some sort, they hear an elegant, sonorous voice, apparently a bard telling a story. The crowd of listeners is quite enthralled... * Mikari looks around with interest as she strolls along. "And lo, the huntress leapt forth to land in front of the children, protecting them with her mighty frame! The beast roared, swiping at her, but still she did not move, nor did she attack!" * Erellisae blinks, heading alongside Feray, still looking around curiously. * Emmitt gestures broadly with his hands, his hazel eyes flashing with excitement as he moves across his makeshift stage ground, his long dark hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. He is exquisitely dark and handsome seeming, his voice rich. The audience gasps at all the appropriate points. Many of them are children; others are adults, doing various tasks such as sewing or repairs as they listen. * Feray stops slowly. * Jalanda perks her ears a moment, regarding the bard and the throng of onlookers. Hmm. A foreigner in these parts? * Erellisae blinks up at Feray. ^^; "What's up?" I guess so...How did he pass that part of the ocean that's like soup...? Perhaps the world is a ball? * Emmitt lifts his eyes and they widen a bit as they scan the newcoming group. He gets a handsome smile. "She waited until the beast wore itself down and retreated, her silver eyes flashing in the sunlight and azure tresses gleaming like unholy fire!" Maybe he went the.. uh.. other way around. I've heard stories to that effect.. Really? Hm. * Feray eyes Erel, quiet now, then turns her gaze to the bard.. Hard to say. Maybe with the newer airships they could check. * Mitsuo blinks at the story, "...Hey, that sounds a bit like..." * Erellisae blink-blinks at Feray, before watching the bard. ...? "Finally the time came when she twirled, leaping from the children to attack the beast, her daggers tearing great chunks from the feline's hide! It gave quite a struggle, I assure you, but the brave huntress didn't falter nor fear!" * Feray mutters. "...just a little fear." * Nathan looks at Feray, an eyebrow raised in question * Erellisae blinks at Feray again, blinks at the bard again, then wideeyes as she puts two and two together, pointing surreptitiously. "You mean--...?" * Mitsuo looks at Feray, and then back at the bard, "No way..." "Finally she stood triumphant, the beast dying beneath her mighty onslaught, the children of Leck saved to grow and love in their own right....saved by a homemade hero!" ...It is...Feray? * Emmitt ends with a flourish, bowing to the crowd grandly! ... * Feray sighs and rubs her forehead. ^^; * Jalanda glances towards the huntress in the group. "You have admirers in strange places, madam Feray." * Nathan listens to all this, and puts all the pieces together. His face hardens immediately I told him not to tell that story. That's him isn't it? ....yeah. That's him. Emmitt. Him? O_o Him who wha how? Leck?!? * Feray sounds annoyed. * Emmitt grins broadly, his gaze now pinning Feray. He smoothly hops off the stage, swipes and pays for a rose in the same movement, before striding directly to Feray. He bows lowly, offering it to her. "Ah, Feray...your beauty has only been amplified since I saw you last." Emmitt? Who's Emmitt? ^^;;; * Nathan's eyebrow twiches (darkly) Oh really... .... * Feray stares at the rose. * Erellisae blinks, then her tattoos start faintly glowing, growing rather brighter as Emmitt approaches. ^^;; * Mikari sweatdrops. ^^; * Dylan looks around.. "Ugh, save it." * Emmitt smirks, annoyingly good looking, and scans the rest of the group....he arches an eyebrow at Erellisae, his eyes gleaming. * Mitsuo glances at Feray and then at Emmitt, "(w) Why don't I believe a word you say?" ....well hello there, beautiful woman. ...Hey now! Um... ^^; Er...I mean... Might I assume that you parted on less than favourable terms, Feray? * Erellisae blinks. Blinks again, her tattoos bursting into flame proper as she growls rather. ^^; "What?" * Mitsuo shakes his head, still seeming to look like he's...slightly annoyed? * Feray narrows her eyes dangerously and steps forward to intercept Emmitt's offered rose...offered this time to Erel, of course. She shoves his hand hard against his chest. "You can say that, Dylan. And stay away from my sister, you swine." * Emmitt raises both eyebrows and grins. Why Feray....are you still madly in love with me? Sorry, dear, but I don't deal in used goods. You'll just have to find romance elsewhere. * Nathan keeps away, letting Feray handle this, while his hackles continue to rise * Feray straightens, paling, and then snarls. Used....gooods....?! * Feray, instead of responding, turns and stalks away. HEY! * Erellisae snarls, nearly arcing a fireball at Emmitt as she shouts. "HEY! Don't you /dare/ say that!" * Cassidy balks.. * * Emmitt watches Feray go, a smile curving his lips. "So beautiful...a shame, really." Please keep your manners when speaking to a lady, Emmitt. Or I won't stop my companions. Geez, do you have absolutely no class at all? Were you raised in a BARN? That's not how you speak to someone! Ever! * Nathan snarls at Emmitt * Mitsuo looks VERY angry. * Emmitt eyes Mitsuo and places his hands on his hips, his colorful cloak swaying. "Hmph. He seems disappointed. * Erellisae takes a deep breath to calm herself, before grinning madly. "That was satisfying." ^_^ She turns to go find Feray and report her success. * Emmitt slumps, unconscious, bleeding from a gash in his temple. ^^; He seems ALIVE, though. Crowds gather around him :o Ah well. That sort of spoils my idea of having a duel. I don't want to seem unfair. * Dylan shrugs, and offers Jalanda his arm. * Jalanda shakes her head sadly at the man, then joins her friends. "...such is fate." When Nathan and Mitsuo arrive at the inn, they look around for Feray and see no sign of her... * Dylan follows Jalanda, looking over his shoulder occasionally. * Mikari squeezes her arm, as though she was itching the press her knuckles against Emmitt's jawbone herself... she slowly winds down. The innkeeper looks up, blinking at the obvious newcomers. "You looking for someone?" Yes. A woman, silver eyes, long blue hair, lightly dressed? Yes, did you see a woman with silver eyes and azure colored hair wander in here? She had long ears...Yeah, what this guy said. ^^; [Innkeeper] Ah, yes, just came in. She got herself a room and went directly up. ^^; Great. ^^ Which room? [Innkeeper] Ah....second floor, third on the right. Thanks * Erellisae bursts in after Mitsuo and Nathan, looking very pleased with herself. ^^; * Nathan heads up the stairs C'mon Erel, Feray's upstairs. :) * Mitsuo extends a hand out to her. After a moment of silence, he nods. "Now that you mention it, I do recall a couple by that description. They were here perhaps a month back." C'mon ^^ Let's go! * Mitsuo gently leads Erel to where Feray's room is. * Mikari enters last, looking around outside to make sure that bard type hasn't followed them. ¬_¬ Hmm. A month. Not unexpected.. We may have to ask about her later, if you don't mind.. The innkeeper nods. No wonder it was so faint... We'll need at least another room. Have you the space? The innkeeper shrugs. "How many? We have a few spare rooms, perhaps two or three." Hmm. There's.. *counts fingers* 9ish of us.. Got a couple of room that can hold 5 apiece? * Mikari wanders up to the rest of them. "...ish?" The innkeeper sweatdrops. "Only if one or two don't mind sleeping on the floor..." ^^; Hmm. Make that 3 rooms then, if you would. The innkeeper nods. "I'll see what I can do, if you come back at dusk. Should have another room free by then." * Dylan nods. Thank you kindly. Does this village have a chief we should introduce ourselves to? * Dylan blinks, and fishes out a coin.. And can you take these at some value? The innkeeper shrugs. "Not as such....we have someone who's a sort of informal mayor, but good luck finding him. He's around though; I'm sure someone can direct you to him eventually." * Jalanda nods as well. "I see..." The innkeeper takes a coin, eyes it, then bites it. He seems satisfied. "That'll do, yes." And what might the name of this isle be out of curiousity?
