One crisis at a time Mits :\ * Erellisae picks herself slowly up off the group silently, magical energy crackling up and down her arms as she hides behind her hair before looking up. "Now I'm /angry/." Hmm. I hoped that after the whirry bit recognized Erel we weren't going to have problems with these things... If Emmitt is running down the stairs we might be yet able to catch him * Feray says nothing, though you can tell she's pissed. She twirls her daggers... >> Spinners 1-5 appear! Ambushed! :o Battle begins... * Spud spins in a tight circle above Erel's head, before settling lightly on her shoulder, beeping whenever a crackle of magic passes over it. Let one judgement be followed by another then... Hmm. Do you think you'll survive a jump into the water, Nate? If I'm small enough * Mikari has been looking for a window in the enclosing automatons through which to dash after Emmitt, but they close in when she tries to dive through... * Feray growls. "Take care of these first. Then we take care of my ex...." * Jalanda assumes a defensive posture. "Everyone, recall what occured last meeting and be cautious...! We cannot be foiled here when the prize moves forward without us." * Erellisae nods, stepping next to Feray, daggers at the ready. She looks down at Erel for a moment. * Jake snaps out of his no longer kelp covered and slightly less soggy daze of spinny things and feelings of inadequacy. * Erellisae blinks and looks up at Feray, before sweatdropping. "Oh, c'mon! I'm only gonna dump him in the sea or something." ^^; * Mikari mumbles something involving said "prize" and some random profanity, and falls back a bit towards the others as the enemies get the jump on them >> Spinner 1's declaration. It beeps a couple of times, spinning slightly. All right you mechanical claptraps, step aside! * Erellisae makes an irritated noise, bracing slightly and sweatdropping. Prepares to execute a special move on Dylan! * Mikari starts to look a little dazed, not used to an enemy getting the jump on her, and rather pissed about it at that. >> Cassidy's declaration. * Cassidy twirls her dagger, and makes ready to use Dazzling Blade upon Spinner 5.. * Let's dance. >> Nathan's declaration. * Jake is hiding as best as he can, crouched and holding his tiny hook, glaring with narrowed chocolate eyes with pumpkin colored, salty bangs. * Jake removes his headband, wrings it out, and watches with determination. * Jake eyes his hook, then the spinners, then shrugs. * Nathan launches himself at Spinner 3! (critical) * Spud beeps in a vaguely sad way and drops back away from Erellisae, out the way of the battle with its big brothers to sit on Jake's hair lightly. >> Spinner 1's action. Combo attacks Jalanda! 15 damage...13 damage! * Jalanda attempts to soften the blows as much as she can, taking the hits on her left arm and side as if she's shielding the other portion of herself, uttering only a very small muffled yelp. .... * Feray utters a low, warning snarl. >> Feray's declaration. * Feray attempts to critical Spinner 2! * Erellisae growls faintly along with Feray, the corona around her flecking white briefly as she sees Jalanda getting hit. I will heal my wounds... but Erellisae is in immenent danger. * Jalanda lifts her pale right hand from the robes that hide it, as it begins to gather an azure magical aura. O_o * Erellisae gets knocked over as a spinner slams into her, wincing as she staggers up to her feet, clutching her side. She lowers her brow and then calls out to Feray. " 'Ey! Wanna spread some metal over this battlefield?" Sparks fly as the dagger clashes against the steel side of her foe, the light suddenly exploding like a supernova! * >> Cassidy executes Dazzling Blade on Spinner 5. 32 damage! >> Jake's action! * Jake finds it dazzling, along with everyone else's skills... but no time for that! * Jake through many sloppy attempts at last reaches his chibi destination, pointing out like the lance of a knight on horseback his trusty hook! he swirls with a practiced, flawless technique a brilliant the shining crochet hook, copper and brilliant as the sun (surrounded by helpful shoujo shinies in this battle sequence), and stabs at the offending spinner valliantly! >> Jake slashes mightily at the Spinner! His crochet hook gets stuck in the metal joints. Sparks fly, arcs of electricity leaping from Jake's still soggy body, and he falls over, smoking slightly. ;_; ... I'm trying, but they're so fast! * Mikari grumbles as she finally gets this damn spell off, but then grins once she's ready. * Mikari closes her eyes momentarily as she mutters the incantation of her spell, the words themselves unheard... when she finishes, she casts a dark smile and opens her eyes, reveal her pupils to be glowing the burning crimson of an intense fire. With the thrust of her entire body, she bundles up the anger coiled up inside her, and lets it shoot through her fingertips!! Here ya go Feray... Tear 'im apart!! * Feray rears back slightly and utters a loud howl of rage, snapping her eyes open! Her eyes are gone completely silver, no trace of the pupils or iris remaining save for a grey madness.... >> Mikari casts Fury on Feray. Feray is enraged! * Feray jerks down, crouching slightly as an animal would do before attack...she hisses.. >> Mitsuo's action! ...Ow.. * Mitsuo rushes to Erel's side, gently picking her up slightly and pulling out the cork to the Revive potion with his teeth, before spitting it out! ^^; He gently pours the potion's contents down Erel's throat, "Wakey wakey... ^^;" >> Mitsuo uses a revive potion on Erellisae. Erel regains consciousness! * Erellisae lays still a moment, then Spud suddenly lifts off her shoulders as blue magic bursts from her body, surrounding her in a bright corona. She gets slowly to her feet, daggers held at her sides, and looks at the spinners with glowing green eyes. My spell has healed him, but he needs a moment to rouse. * Nathan lowers his hands, and blackness swallows the party. Just as quickly, the blackness peels away, and the party appears to be in some kind of underwater desert, devoid of any life. Let me show you why I fight. * Nathan raises his hands and a single magical tone floods the landscape, and life suddenly explodes into being, bringing vitality and abundance to everything it touches, including the party! For a moment, one can only bask in the glory of it all, before the party is warped back from where they were taken. * Dylan hands Erel a Revive Potion Keep it safe, even if we don't need it now. >> Nathan executes Song of the Sea! Needed a refresher. * Feray remains where she is, closing her eyes as she rage finally begins to filter off....she exhales a bit and stands, turning to eye the fallen Mitsuo worriedly. * Spud quirks its form at Erellisae's light slap, and seems to get the idea a little too late, bouncing on Mitsuo's forehead once. ^^; * Nathan hurries over to the edge of the platform, looking to see if Emmitt has a ship down there somewhere * Jalanda reaches into the folds of her robe, and pulls out a Revive Potion. She places it in Dylan's hands without moving her own in a trick of the light. "The burden is not entirely yours. Do not be unprepared for other's sakes." * Dylan grins. He shoves the harp at her. * Jalanda goes flailing to the edge of the cliff, holding on with a rather deathly grip to the edge, panting, and trying to break the effects of the harp with this dangerous reprieve. * Mitsuo cries out, and blinks in a dazed fashion, "...Why did...?" * Emmitt grabs Feray quickly by the face, kissing her hard. Mmpphhh!!? * Emmitt shoves Feray into the water! O_o Aaaa--- !! * Mikari then sees Emmitt kissing Feray next to her, and her eyes narrow into a heavy glare. She reaches out to punch Emmitt heavily in the face. * Erellisae blinks, trying to clear her head and looking down at the harp, before looking horrified and quickly clattering her daggers to the floor. Sho-raoo nods and stumbles toward the water, then dives in after uttering a few words that make Nathan blink. * Dylan rubs his hand, wincing.. * Feray tugs free of Dylan and turns, gazing at the water... * Jalanda coughs once, arising slowly as Feray and herself are deposited safely on the ground. Where's the harp? * Spud slowly descends from the stairwell above, hovering in front of Erellisae's face with a beep and not expecting her to suddenly grab it in a hug, sobbing anew. * Feray blinks at the sound of crying. * Dylan half-collapses against the floor.. "Littlebit.." * Mikari looks around with a similar daze, then catches Dylan's shout to Sho-raoo, and attempts to follow him... however, she stops at the water, seeing that following could be an unreasonable course of action. * Nathan falls back on his butt, and lies there for a while * Jalanda peers over her shoulder to the instrument. Yeah * Mitsuo starts just a little, confused at the kiss, and gently touches his cheek. To the past, such a thing is inconsequential... he has played his part... and you yours... now we end this ballad... * Erellisae heads for Feray, shaking her head. "Not yet." * Feray blinks. * Nathan looks glumly at the water, and punches the nearby wall * Erellisae positively grabs Feray into a large hug given the girl's dimensions, resting her head on Feray's shoulder and closing her eyes. ^^; * Feray blinks and tenses. ^^; * Feray frowns and returns the hug... "Hey. C'mon. We need to...I mean...uh....the soul eating guppy....you know.." * Nathan slips beneath the water and makes for the exit, intent on seeing for himself how far Emmitt has gotten * Feray gestures a little with a hand, ears backed, vaguely uncomfortable with the soft mushiness. ^^ * Mikari crosses her arms and rubs her shoulders as though cold, though this is not the case. * Mitsuo smiles just a little. * Jalanda lapses into the rythmic strumming again. It is a calming sound, like an ocean. You'd almost think she was trying to encourage the party to refocus themselves and forget the anger. * Jake looks over at Erel and Feray, then winces down and cluches his arm and curses in a soft tone, eyes squinted shut. He straightens out a bit and looks up at the ceiling as he tends to. * Dylan lies there, still feeling the after-effects of over-activity.. * Mikari unfolds her arms as she listens to Jalanda's strumming, then walks back over to the party with a sigh. * Nathan ducks through the underwater door and heads for the surface again * Erellisae nods up at Feray before letting go, eyes still closed, and taking a long deep breath. "... okay. Now we go. But don't worry, okay? We're all still here..." She opens her eyes, letting the breath out and grinning a little more like herself, one fang biting her lip. * Jake tosses his hair out of his eyes with a nearly violent gesture of his chin, stretches, and upon hearing the word go, he seems a bit more alert. * Mikari walks up to Dylan, and hands him a bit of an herb from her pouch. "...sorry about that..." * Feray gazes at Erel for a moment before quirking a little bit of a grin. "Hmmpf. Mushy stuff. Come on." Sho-raoo looks very subdued, waiting in the water for the others to be ready to go. * Feray reaches out, through, to ruffle Erel's hair fondly. I'm ready to go anywhere as long as we can all -remain- here. * Dylan waves a hand at her vaguely I'm fine.. You know... meaning.. everyone.. here.. but not -here- here. .... * Dylan sits up groggily.. * Jalanda stops her playing, looking at the harp again. "Perhaps this is the key I sought." * Nathan pops out of the water and looks around for any boats or persons Sho-raoo frowns. * Feray turns a bit.. "C'mon, guys....we need to get back to the ship..." My body doesn't like going into overdrive, like that rage made me.. [Sho-raoo] We should go. * Mikari nods quietly to Dylan, looking honestly regretful this time. Nathan sees no sign of Emmitt, but not far off he catches sight of Cassidy, perched on the gently rocking edge of Emmitt's boat... * Nathan raises an eyebrow, and swims over that way * Cassidy is finally catching her tan.. as best she can, at least, given the situation.. * * Erellisae nods, looking around the room. "... yeah. Jalanda... do you want to... keep that safe? ... please?" ^^; Got youself a new boat there? * Jake stares with a confused look. * Dylan gets up, leaning against the wall.. Let's get to somewhere dry, please? * Feray gazes at the others....her silver eyes land on Jal and she mouths a 'sorry'... * Jalanda turns slightly towards Erellisae. "There is no need to ask..." * Feray turns and leaps into the water! * Nathan hoists himself up onto the boat Where's Emmitt? * Erellisae nods, and takes another deep breath, looking out to sea. ^^; * Feray makes her way for the surface as well... Ah.. well.. beggars can't be choosers, Nate. Sho-raoo dives into the water and makes his way outside once more, surfacing not far from Nathan, Cassidy, et al. * Jalanda watches Feray go, a few words of hers having no ear as she dimisses them for now. * Jake follows everyone else, hands in his not so soggy pockets... THROUGH his not so soggy pockets. * Jake grimaces. * Cassidy relaxes. * You got him, I take it? No He got us * Dylan sighs, and swims off after everyone My clothes are fried.. * Feray surfaces near Nate and flicks her hair from her face.. * Cassidy sits up.. * No..? What happened? He didn't come past here. He didn't? * Jake swims along with everyone else.' We got the harp though He didn't need to. He's swimming back. Sho-raoo looks almost...sheepish. Lover boy there gave him the kiss of life. Sho-raoo death-glares at Feray. * Nathan gives Sha-raoo a strange look He mutters some unkind things about surface dwellers in the mer-tongue... * Feray doesn't even seem to care, her eyes dark still. * Erellisae eyes Mitsuo, then grabs his hand and pulls him towards the pool of water. "C'mon, you! Really, I don't know what I'm going to do with you and Feray... you both think and worry too much. Hrmph." ^^; * Mikari sighs and considering diving after the swimmers of the group. She decides there's no point, though, and keeps with the landbound members of the party. * Cassidy looks around. * No.. of course he didn't.. I'd have nailed him if he showed his ugly mug. ^^; What? What! Just considering my options is all! :) * Feray waves her hand. "Where's the boat?" Fine, let him swim back. It'll give him time to think about his actions I mean, our boat. * Feray hugs the side of Emmitt's small boat. ^^; Some distance off they can see the Alent's Light bobbing languidly in the waves... Probably anchored where we left it Kind of a shame he got away though.. Ah.. * Jalanda carefully makes her way back towards the sea, cradling the harp above water carefully. "He will know in time." * Dylan swims over to the ship He'll be back. He's gotta go back to land sometime * Feray mutters. You'd be surprised. Let's go for the ship. * Erellisae hrmphs, poking Mitsuo in the side before tugging him after her, heading for Feray ;) * Mitsuo acks and is tugged! ^^; * Jake reaches where Feray is. * Feray blinks and eyes Jake. * Nathan nods, and dives off of Emmitt's boat, then swims for Alent's Light Sho-raoo follows, very quiet and subdued. Need a hand in? Or are you just gonna swim back. I can't really just leave this boat here for him. I'd hate to make his job easier. * Jake nerviously smiles at Feray...? ^_^; I guess that answers that. * ^^; Eh, wreck it, Cass. * Feray pushes off the boat and mutters darkly. . o O (Rorqual save us from arrogant surface dwellers) ...let him drown. * Feray swims for Alent's Light. * Erellisae watches Feray wordlessly, Mitsuo seeing plain the faint frown on her face before she shakes her head. "C'mon." ^^ * Jake looks over to Feray, who has swimmed off to the Alent's light and saddly looks at Emmitt's boat. Aw, what a shame. Yeah... * Cassidy spins around to see Feray push off, her eyes drifting to Jake. * Oh, heyas bud. * Mitsuo follows after Erel, looking a bit subdued himself. Feeling.. uh.. better? * Nathan hoists himself up onto the ship, then stands by to help others aboard * Jake smirks and shows a burnt to bits sleeve. Want a ride back? It's dry, kinda. * Feray gets tugged up by Nate and pauses, his hand in hers. She lifts it to her lips lightly, kissing his knuckles. Sure. * Feray drops the hand and storms off below decks. * Cassidy offers Jake a hand into the boat. * Up and at 'em, bud. * Nathan blinks at Feray, a lot, then smiles a little, going back to helping the others aboard * Jake accepts the ride gladdly and tries not to whimper as she squeezes a bruise in helping him up. All aboard who's goin aboard, let's go * Dylan gets onto the ship, and goes to inform Fidelio of the results of the proceedings * Jalanda nods and slowly makes her way towards the ship. "Dwell no more on the thief... for a new battle is approaching... and this one will be unlike any other." * Erellisae gets tugged up to deck, watching Feray go below-decks with a rather unreadable expression. "... Mits?" Yes? ... be right back. ...Okay Erel. Take your time. :) * Erellisae heads below-decks, that particular determined-hummingbird expression on her face. * Mikari watches Feray, and shakes her head sadly. She steps into the boat without help, and without a word, then proceeds to look away from the rest of the group. * Cassidy pulls Jake into the boat.. * Now.. there's the issue of paddles, or some other movement-causing thing.. * Nathan hoists Jalanda up onto the deck, then makes sure no one else is unnacounted for No problem! Now.. lesse.. there must be something here... I might not be any kind of fighter, but I can handle boats! ^^; I leave things in your hands then. ^^ While Cassidy and Jake prepare to make their languid way back in the little boat, the others board the ship.
