Rounding the corner, Erellisae skips - dear lord, she's /skipping/ up to Cassidy, grinning faintly and with a mischievous look in her eyes. * Erellisae grins, eying Cassidy, ears drooping slightly from the sun. "Hi there." ^_^ * Cassidy is reclining in a large coil rope, still clad in her 'stylin' suit and catching what sun she can. She stretches, opening her eyes, and turning them to Erel. * Hey there, Number Two. * She grins. * * Erellisae sits next to Cassidy, still with that glint in her eyes, but looking a little confused. "... Number Two?" * Cassidy closes her eyes, and leans back again, still grinning.. * Yep. Number Two. * Erellisae raises an eyebrow, then shuffles closer, grinning at Cassidy toothily. "... weeellll? Whatcha think of him?" * Cassidy takes a sip from a nearby ice-filled glass of lemonade, setting it back down gently.. * Who? * Erellisae giggles, then eyes Cassidy skeptically. "You know who! Jake! I saw you both on the island!" ^_~ * Cassidy sluffs that off. * Pfft. We were all on that island, Number Two. ^^; * Erellisae giggles, waggling a finger. "Maybe, but one of us was given a ride by another." ^_~ She clasps her hands, going a rather faux-starry-eyed. "Nobly carrying you to spare your feet..." * Feray suddenly mad-dashes past Erellisae and Cass, so close that Cass's glass of lemonade rattles just slightly. She utters a wild yell as she approaches Nate at the front of the boat! >D As she approaches the merman, you can plainly see her reach out to give him a -hearty- slap on the behind....before she wildly leaps off the boat and into the water! "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" * Erellisae pauses mid-star, then blinks twice at Cassidy, then turns very slowly to eye where Feray dived off the boat, before turning back to Cass, sweatdropping slightly. "... what's a little sister to do...?" * Cassidy shakes her head, and offers up an amused sniff. * ^^; * Erellisae shakes her head slightly, then grins back at Cassidy. "And then he even kissed your feet! My, I didn't realise you'd gotten so close!" ^_~ "So c'moooonn, whatcha think of him?" * Cassidy piques an eyebrow at Erel. * I think he was just bein' a nice guy. You jealous just because Mitsuo hasn't done the same for you? * Cassidy can't help but break into another one of her trademark grins. * Maybe I should tell him to stop slouchin', and lavish his attentions upon you more. ^^; * Erellisae blushes rather brightly red, then bites her lip, looking awfully tempted and staring into the middle distance momentarily. "Uhm... well... he might've kissed me last night..." she murmurs, before shaking her head. "H-hey! Besides, it's you I'm trying to set up here, not me!" ^_~ * Cassidy looks amused. * Oh.. so you're trying to set me up now, are you? * Erellisae sticks her tongue out briefly, then smiles. "Aw, c'mon, it looked so cute! Can you blame me? I never /believed/ you'd let him carry you..." ^_~ Well.. I really should have brought some boots. I actually expected you guys to dawdle more about how to get up there. I was hoping to get more of a swim. ^^; * Erellisae eyes Cassidy, that glint back in her eyes. "And you did seem to like being up there in his arms..." ^_~ * Spud suddenly descends from above, beeping slightly as it hovers downwards and wearing a discarded wineskin at a jaunty angle on it's 'head'. It spins lazily once in the air before heading off down to the galley. Well.. * Cassidy eyes the contraption.. * * Erellisae watches the little robot, shaking her head slightly. "I dunno if I'll get used to him..." ^^; "So, c'mon, didja like it?" :D Well.. I think.. uh.. c'mon, I mean, how could anyone not like it? ^^; You'd have liked it. * Cassidy leans back again, locking her hands behind her head.. * So yeah, I liked it.. * Erellisae grins, leaning back simultaneously to watch the sky, then looking across at Cassidy, seeming more serious. "Why not try to become good friends with him?" * Cassidy's grin fades.. * This is me, Erel. The last thing I can do is really make friends.. they could get hurt by it. * Erellisae waggles a finger at Cassidy. "That's for them to decide. Didn't you see Jake when we were in that fight? He knew he could get hurt by trying to defend us, but he went ahead and did it anyway." And I cheered him on, yeah. So? * Erellisae looks upwards, ears flicking as she brushes her hair back a little. "So just cause they /could/ get hurt doesn't mean you should push them away. Maybe... they wanna take that risk. Maybe they think you're worth it." They don't know all the risks though.. * Erellisae shrugs faintly. "That just makes it more fun in the end. I mean... gotta take some chances in life, right? Jake didn't know what'd happen. None of us did when we started. But we're still here so far." Somehow.. it's less fun when it's your job, you know? * Cass shakes her head.. * No.. you probably don't. Jobs like mine aren't very common. ^^; Fun is playing Rion, doing what he does, and seeing how long I can get away with it. But this? This is different. * Erellisae nods slowly, smiling faintly. "Then I guess... take fun where you can? I mean... you were gonna swim and sunbathe. That's fun, right? Making friends with everyone's been fun too. He seems to like you... why not try liking him?" ^^ Well.. 'cause.. I'm, well, a soldier. Half of my life I spend playing at being a boy, and the other part of it doesn't leave much time for girl-things. Who wants to like a girl like that? * Erellisae waggles a finger. "Uh-uh! You're thinking too much again. For all you know, he'll like you just fine. Besides, what've you got to lose? If it all goes well, you gain a friend. If not... you're just back where you started. No downside." ^^ Ehh.. but I think he likes anyone just fine. He's after Mikari about as much. ^^; It's his decision to make, and I can't muddle it any. ^^;; * Erellisae blinks, and grins toothily. "I didn't mean going after him as it were--", though it's plain to see she's filing away that little bit of information, "--but just... try to be friends with him. I think he's probably kinda sweet under that chase-anyone look. Only way to be sure is to get in with him." ^^ Well.. I can't promise you anything, you know. ^^; * Erellisae giggles faintly. "I know. I promised I'd try to be a friend, though. Trying to get you to make more friends, or trying to set you up, 's just part of that. And you two /did/ look cute." ^_~ Sorry. I didn't mean to. ^^;; I mean, I know I'm cute n'all. I could be cute with anyone. It's not like I try though, you know. ^^; * Erellisae watches Cassidy with a faint smile. "Aw, I can just see you both looking cute in matching cow pajamas and big slippers." ^_~ She starts to collapse into faint giggles. ^^; Cow pajamas? ^^; * Erellisae chokes out a laugh. "You didn't see those? Jake stumbled out onto deck in them. He looked just like a puppy that'd just been woken up." She leans back, giggling harder. * Erellisae sobers and shakes her head slightly, looking up at the sky again. "Seriously, though... I /did/ promise you I'd try to be a better friend. To me... getting you to open up to other people too, that's part of it. A pretty big part." Hmm.. I must have missed it. ^^; But.. uh.. I'll try to not be such a bad friend. ^^; * Erellisae reaches out to tap Cassidy lightly on the shoulder, her voice soft. "You're doin' just fine, I think. I'm just trying to help you along, and keep a promise at the same time. Plus that whole curious little meddling mage thing." ^^; * Cassidy smirks. * I figured that was a big part of it, actually. ^^; * Erellisae giggles, and sticks her tongue out at Cassidy, before turning serious. "Not so much, to tell the truth... I wasn't going to break my promise. Trying to hook you up was a side benefit. Still not giving up on that, by the way." ^_~ It's a silly plan, I'm tellin' ya. Worry about your own hide, and Feray's. Your plate is full enough without having to worry about me and Jake. ^^; * Erellisae shakes her head, sitting up and glaring just slightly. "Uh uh. I want to prove you can trust me. I want to be your friend." I just don't want to inadvertantly be your doom, Number Two. ^^; * Erellisae grins in a faintly Feray-like manner, looking quite cocksure. "I know the risks. I know that fish might suck our souls, but I'm gonna fight it anyway. I know you're a soldier, that you spend half your time as a boy, but I'm gonna be your friend anyway." Well, if it's any consolation, if it winds up suckin' out your soul, I'll really lay the boots to it then. ^^; * Erellisae chuckles, and gets slowly to her feet, looking down at Cass. "I'll appreciate it." ^_~ She sobers again, watching Cassidy quietly a while. "Just... think about it, okay? He seems nice." * Cassidy pulls one of her suit's straps to the side, examining the shade of her tan.. * Well... * Cassidy leans back, closing her eyes and relaxing once again. * ..I'm makin' no promises, Number Two. * Erellisae grins toothily once more. "I know. I'll just go have to pester Jake sometime, too." ^_~ "Try not to get burned. I doubt Jalanda can heal /that/." * Cassidy grins. * I'm tough, I can take it. ^^ * Erellisae nods, and waves, heading for the door to the galley, and opening it... into Spud, who gets bounced back into the ship with a cry from Erellisae and a rather morose squeaking noise from Spud. "Aaah! Spud!
