Some are later getting up than others, as a few were out late the night before, enjoying themselves in the tavern. Dylan was nearly the last one to bed; only one bed remained empty when he retired. The morning dawns, and Sue pounds on the door to the guy's room. [Sue] Wake up in there!! Bruhagoadgoadg.?? * Dylan falls out of bed with a FWACK! [Sue] Up and at 'em! Gotta get moving! WAKEY WAKEY! * Mitsuo is already downstairs, looking out the widow towards the village...since he sorta went to sleep early the night before. * Erellisae's traditional early-morning cry of "Good moooooooooooooooorning!" spectacularly fails to occur. Mwaaa... * Dylan falls back to sleep She then moves on back to the girls' room, striding in and beginning to shake people awake. * Rion buries deeper under the covers, trying to escape the shrill voice. * * Erellisae appears to have got up early, but has left her pack by her bed. Sue shrugs, figuring Erellisae has gone down to breakfast already. Feray, however, is snoring loudly and apparently refuses to be awakened... Sue stands in the middle of the room and yells. [Sue] RISE AND SHINE!! * Rion winces, muttering.. * Unfortunately, Feray still lacks consciousness. =P * Jalanda is in the room still, noticing Sue prodding the sleeping Lainian. "She seems to have had a long night. She will wake eventually..." * Dill wakes up suddenly and flaps about frantically * Mitsuo winces and looks out the window, "...I hate it when people do that..." ^^; * Dylan rolls over and sits up Sue nods. [Sue] Looks like it. Well, who's up for breakfast? * Syri wobbles out of Mitsuo's room slowly, wandering towards the dining room, not noticing there's stairs there. O_o Good Morning Sky, Good Morning Clouds. Good Morning Sun. Goodbye Moon. * Jalanda pauses a moment, hearing faint traces of movement in the other room. "After that bellow, I would think half the neighborhood, Miss Sue." * Syri tumbles like a slinky! "kwu kw-u kwu-kwu kwu kwu kwu *splat* kwuuuuu..." @_@ * Mitsuo blinks and looks up at the weird bumping sounds, "Huh...O_o Geez! Syri!" Sue grins unabashedly and heads for the door. [Sue] Well, I'll see you in the dining room. I'm starved. * Dylan shuffles to his clothes and dresses for the day She marches down the stairs in search of food... * Jalanda arises, and goes downstairs, leaving Feray to nap. ^^ * Mitsuo rushes over to his little carro friend and picks him up, stroking his back, "...^^; Klutzy people gotta stick together, huh?" Kwuuuuuuuuuu @_@; * Dylan leans on the wall yawning Totoro-style, as he waddles downstairs for brekky * Rion sighs.. realizing he's only delaying the inevitable.. * * Mitsuo looks up, nodding to Dylan, "Good morning...sleep well?" * Rion rolls out of bed, getting ready to face the day. * Mra.. wa. brabab... not really.. Sue is downstairs, devouring a plate of pancakes and what is apparently her third cup of coffee. She idly gazes out the window, where she can see a lovely view of the mountains, wreathed with clouds... * Dylan sits down and thinks for a moment or two before dazedly ordering a large breakfast of grease, lard, and other fried foods. * Jalanda is also downstairs, however eating her food with much less urgency than Sue. ^^ * Mitsuo sits down...and pours himself a cup of tea. ^^; Sue nods in greeting to Dylan but forbears conversation, fearing to anger a very large cow-man who is still barely awake. Glancing out the window again, she sees Erellisae watching the view... [Sue] Morning Mitsuo. Sleep well? ...Yeah, like a log... ^^; * Rion stumbles down the stairs, dropping into a place at the table, and starts piling up the food to eat.. * Sue blinks. [Sue] Sheesh, how late did all of you stay up, anyway? * Erellisae shivers, finishes scribbling in a small black-red book, before standing up, looking around and heading back to the inn rather fast. ^^; ...I actually didn't eat dinner last night. ^^; I slept the moment we got back and didn't wake up tillt his morning and...Oooo...Corn muffins... O_o * Mitsuo grins and snatches one. * Jalanda follows Sue's gaze to the window, she too, notices Erel admiring the mountain vistas much like the previous day. "I cannot speak for everyone but Rion was sharing tales of adventure with Erel and myself. It was very enlightening." Sue grins, munching on her own breakfast. I had .. .. a few things to muse upon.. never fear, my mind shall be focused enough today. Just a matter of.. .. willpower.. * Erellisae barrels through the door, letting out a deep breath. "Good moooooooooorning!" ^_^ * Mitsuo pushes the pot of caffiene rich tea in Dylan's general direction. ^^; [Sue] Oh? *raises an eyebrow* Tales of your adventures, eh Rion? *looks amused* Ah, good morning Erellisae. Sleep well? Good morning, Erel. * Erellisae nodnods, rushing upstairs with a wave to everyone. ^^; Blessing of the Sun's wakening upon you Ms. Erellisae. Eaten yet? * Dylan waves a fork with hashbrown and sausage on at Erel Is good. * Erellisae comes down about as quickly, trying not to clatter her pack into everything as she lugs it downstairs. ^^; Once she's dropped it next to the table, she sits down, reaching eagerly for some food. ^^; "Cold..." ^^; It's that cold out...huh? I haven't really been outside much... * Rion clears his plate, and starts heaping more on.. * Sue chuckles. [Sue] Yes, the mountains are a bit chilly, even in summer. But don't worry, we'll be heading back down today. Should be in warmer territory by lunchtime, so long as we don't dawdle too much getting out of here. Yes, the mountaina ir is quite chilly to one not accustomed to it's touch... I feel a storm coming sometime soon. * Erellisae nods, rubbing her arms to warm herself up. ^^; [Sue] A storm, huh? Guess we'd better hurry and outrun it. *finishing up her breakfast* I'm all packed, so whenever you guys are ready to leave... Storm? We could pray to the Spirits for it to pass us by? * Mitsuo blinks, and plucks his travelling cape out of his backpack, "Erel...do you have anything warm? Do you want to borrow this?" And what about Ms. Feray? [Sue] Oh yeah. *blinks* Well, we'll drag her out of bed in a minute. Had a good time last night, did she? *grins* * Dylan shurgs * Erellisae blinks, then looks across. "Well... are you gonna be okay?" I wasn't there to see, I'm sure. Oh sure...I have an overcoat in here. ^^; (Pats his backpack). I could carry her, but I doubt she'd appreciate being carried like a rag doll, even if we saved some breakfast for her. * Dylan grins * Jalanda sips her tea a few times, calmly. "The clouds seek only to fuffil their simple destinies... we shall be far gone when it arrives... assuming we may rouse miss Feray." She half-smiles once. Sue snickers. [Sue] Heh. Well, I'm gonna go up and see if she's awake yet... *stands and heads upstairs* * Erellisae takes it, blushing a little. "W-well... thanks." She smiles. ^_^ * Mitsuo smiles back, "No problem..." ^^ * Dill flaps and bounces into the dining area and lands next to Erel Puufff * Dill makes big puppy-eyse * Erellisae tries to keep eating for a while... then sighs, pushing her plate a little toward Dill. "Alright... but just one sausage, you hear?" * Dill slurps up the sausage in one go and then flaps up to Erel's head and curls up * Mitsuo can't help himself and grabs another soft, fluffy, buttery, yellow corn muffin. ^^ Sue tromps downstairs a bit later, having roused a very irritable and sleepy Feray, who refused food and said she would be down soon... * Rion clears his plate for a second time, leaning back in his chair and letting out a statisfied and contented "Urp!" noise, grinning. * * Mitsuo makes a face at Rion's manners. -_-; * Erellisae leans back, looking considerably happier to be in the warm inn. ^^; * Dylan rolls his eyes I take it Feray was not happy to be disturbed? So. Are we ready to get going? * Rion pats his belly.. * Yup, I think so.. I'm ready. * Dylan stands up. [Sue] Noooo.....miss Feray was rather like a bear interrupted while hibernating. *chuckles* * Dylan waves at the inn's cook. Thank's for the meal. Is very good. * Erellisae stands up. "Let's go!" :D * Mitsuo also stands up, picking up his backpack and pulling out what looks to be warm overcoat. Sue shoulders her pack as Feray stumbles downstairs with her things. [Sue] Ready, everyone? Let's go! * Rion gets to his feet, picking a a last few morsels off the table.. * * Dylan walks out, checking the straps on his armour * Jalanda finishes her small meal, wiping her mouth carefully, and arising. * Erellisae yays and bolts out the door, stopping to wave bye-bye to the mountain view. ^_^ [Sue] Oh! Anyone want to do a bit of shopping before we leave town? [Sue] Eiken doesn't have much in the way of weapons or armor, but we might stock up on a few other supplies. If you feel we have the time...there is a possible storm coming, after all... Hmm. A couple of antidotes might be handy Yes, there was one or two stores of interest here... And some storm gear and winter gear would be good for our less durable companions. * Dill snores quietly on Erel's head [Sue] Okay then. *Leads the way down the street to the Eiken chemist's shop* * Erellisae follows the group, flicking a spark at Dylan. "What do you mean, 'less durable'?!" ;_; Actually I meant Jalanda and Mitsuo, Ms. Erellisae * Mitsuo raises an eyebrow, "...^^ I'm perefecly fine! I got an overcoat!" Yes, but a good hat or umbrella would help * Jalanda pulls her hood about her head, obscuring part of her face in it's lilac shadow. "Your concern is appreciated, Dylan." * Erellisae raises an eyebrow and looks suspiciously at Dylan, hmphing slightly. But...yeah...*Slight blush* ...Thanks for the concern... Plus Dill likes wearing rainhats for some reason. * Dill perks it's ears sligthly Not now, Dill. Anyway, did you all sleep well? Sue enters the tiny little shop and starts looking around. Not much of interest is here, but she does purchase a small bag of candies, then goes to look at the herbs for sale... * Jalanda looks at Dill, and tries to envision a rainhat upon its head. "...if I was a normal Rafane, I might lecture upon the fashion popularity of such an interesting image..." * Mitsuo glances around the store. * Jalanda follows everyone to the store. * Dylan chinks his money pouch idly * Jalanda lifts her hand slightly to indicate the candies. "If you'd like some more for the journey, Rion." Hmm... I might advise some others grab some antidotes and vaccines. I have no problem with carrying some myself.. but.. * Erellisae glances around the shop, picking up a pretty whistle and another wound salve, and giving the shopkeeper 40 G. ^^ Oooh.. very much so, Ba..er'.. Ma'am. The shopkeeper smiles absently and takes the money for the purchases. Thanks! ^_^ * Feray waits patiently, not wanting to buy anything... ^^ * Mitsuo buys a small whistle, some sort of tranquilizer, and one cholla. ^^ * Feray stifles a soft yawn.. * Dylan picks up 2 Antidotes and Vaccines, and a Whistle. Paying the 43G * Dill flaps, puffing, at the tranquilizers Hmm? What's that Dill? * Jalanda smiles slightly, then purcases two antidotes and two vaccines, along with another, if smaller, batch of the candy Rion was eyeing... * Rion grins a winning grin. * ^^ * Dylan grabs a couple of tranqs as an after thought, making his total 55g * Feray plays with the end of one of her bangs... [Sue] Okay, anyone else gonna buy anything? Should we be on our way? * Erellisae pipes up from the door. "C'moooon!" ^^; * Jalanda hands the bag to Rion, nodding once to Sue. Let us go.. Sue sighs and grins at Erellisae Better slide one of those antidotes Dylan's way, I think. I'll be pickin' up the tab, though. * Dylan yawns slightly I'm ready when you are... I think Erel is getting restless... ^_- I'm ready....let's head out! ^^ All right, off we go! * Dylan waves a hand at Rion Don't worry about such things. We are a group. At least for now * Erellisae smiles and heads outside, stretching off the early morning cricks. ^^ As long as you'd try to fix me up if I need it, all's fair Uh uh.. This is antidote for you, buddy-boy. * Feray turns and heads out after Erel, stretching as she goes.. * Mitsuo follows behind the group, smiling and adjusting his glasses * Dylan pockets the antidote away in his bag Sue heads out into the street and starts off out of town, humming to herself. Heh. I won't offend you by refusing then, little one. * Jalanda heads outside, once things are settled. "Ah, I see you are finally wakening, Feray..." * Rion grins. * It's all good then. [Sue] Right everyone, today we're headed down the Eiken Pass out of the mountains, into the town of Garist... * Dylan follows in his uniquely Dylan style. [Sue] Anyone know a good hiking song? *annoying grin* * Erellisae follows Sue, pulling Mits' cape around herself, and dropping back a little to talk to Mitsuo. "Thanks... this is much better." ^^ I'm alright, Jal.... ^^; Just need a little time to wake up...! * Feray grins broadly then yawns. ^^; * Mitsuo smiles, "^^ I don't want anyone getting too cold on our journey..." * Dylan whistles tunelessly for a moment then stops Sue starts whistling something that sounds suspiciously like "Bridge Over the River Kwai" * Feray looks amusedly at Sue.. ^_~ Apparently my talent is taking a dip a mountain spring * Dylan shrugs Suddenly Sue stops.... [Sue] Hey, anyone hear that? * Rion listens.. * * Jalanda looks around the mountain pass... * Dylan looks around.. * Erellisae stops, taking out her mace. ^^;; * Dill puffs worriedly A furry shape streaks through the trees to the right. ... * Feray draws her sword slowly... * Rion unsheathes his sword.. * [Sue] You guys want to check that out, or no...? It may be more of the cats... be cautious. ....Again? -_-; Sue shrugs. [Sue] Well...the mountains are not totally devoid of wildlife.... Perhaps it is better to scare them off now before they get brave enough to ambush us. ...Well, yeah...it's just they're rather annoying to fight. ^^; * Erellisae draws a little closer to the group, keeping her back to the center... ^^; Sue peers closely.... [Sue] I only saw one of them though. Might not be many more than that. Whaddaya say we practice sneaking up on things? Hmmm.. * Jalanda looks rather neutral. "At your discretion." Not quite my style, but if others lead, I'll step softly * Mitsuo nods, "If we can't outrun it, we might as well get the upper hand..." * Feray drifts to the head of the party and grins, hunkering down slightly before moving forward almost silently... "Hunting makes discretion easy..." * Erellisae looks nervous, but nods nonetheless. ^^; Then lead on Feray... this is your element... * Feray peers intently in the direction the blur moved, stalking her 'prey'.. * Jalanda begins to trail Feray... * Dylan steps carefully after stuffing Dill in a bag where he can't make much sound. The motion kicks up a green dust devil that chases down the enemy and knocks it for a loop! >> Mitsuo casts Howl...24 damage to Cat 2! Perhaps my protections were in vain. But good practice. * Rion tosses his sword up, glinting off the light in the morning sun, catching it in it's sheath as it drops down. * Awww. yeah.. Eat your heart out, Justin. ^_^ >> Triumphant music plays off in the distance! :D * Jalanda lowers her hand, breathing a small sigh. "...quite." * Erellisae grins, throwing a small shower of pretty sparks in the air. ^_^ * Feray breathes a faint sigh and then grins, sheathing her sword firmly. "Let's go then." * Dylan starts off in the direction he thinks is right. * Erellisae nodsnods, and follows Dylan looking pleased for herself. ^_^ Sue hums happily to herself as they tromp along; they are making good time so far, despite their little skirmish... * Jalanda nods agreeably, and leaves the site of the ambush, content knowing the cats gave up their life for a greater purpose... * Feray walks silently along, keeping her eyes ahead.. ^^ * Mitsuo whistles something under his breath. ^^ * Dill struggles out of Dylan's pack and flaps around the party * Erellisae walks along, looking around at anything interesting. ^_^ * Mitsuo also looks around for anything intresting, and pulls out the apple he snatched in either Sult or Parm and munches on it. The clouds begin to clear away as they walk, and soon the air begins to warm as well, with the approach of midday and the lower elevations. You sure there's a storm comin'? * Jalanda continues into the warmer area, looking decidedly more at home. * Mitsuo breathes easier, and begins to grow warm, pulling off his heavy overcoat and slinging it over his shoulder. * Erellisae relaxes a little, not pulling the cape quite so close to her. ^^; "Better..." [Sue] Hmmm.... *points behind them* The clouds have moved off the way we came, it looks like... * Dylan tugs at his collar Bleh.. warmer than I'd like * Jalanda nods slightly. "Yes... we made excellent progress." In many ways. After a bit longer, they can see another town below them, a ways down the hillside...this one somewhat larger than Eiken, with a bit more hustle and bustle, though still nothing compared to Parm. Sue points. [Sue] There we are! That's Garist. [Sue] Hey! Race you guys into town! :D * Feray blinks a little. ^^; * Erellisae runs ahead a little, peering down at the town. "Okay!" :D * Rion is off like a shot! * [Sue] Aww, no takers? ;_; * Dylan rolls his eyes, and starts to jog * Erellisae becomes this little white and blonde streak heading towards the town. ^^ [Sue] Haha! *Dashes down the mountain after Rion, laughing* Here I come, Chicken Boy! * Mitsuo closes his eyes, sighs, and begins to run! * Jalanda is soon left in the dust of the two young adventurers and Sue. ^^; ...insane. You're all insane. ^^; * Feray keeps a leisurely pace with Jal. ^ Perhaps. But youths are like that. * Dylan slows down to speak with the saner peoples I'm afraid I'm not as fleet of foot as I would like... they are quite something, though. I'd run too....but it's not as if the town is going somewhere.. ^^; It's a close race, and Sue and Rion are almost nose-to-nose, but she passes him just as they reach the outskirts of town! [Sue] Heeheehee! *giggles and skids to a stop* * Jalanda picks up her pace a small bit, but as she walks faster you notice her limp a little more. :o Don't worry about it. You'll have enough time being wise for them, without trying to keep up too. * Mitsuo runs behind everyone else, trying not to lose them completely. * Rion slows to a halt. * Aww.. crapcakes.. Sue drops her tush down on a grassy patch of ground and waits for the others.... * Erellisae comes running down to town, skidding to a halt as she tries not to smack Rion or Sue out the way of her not very fast but very /enthusiastic/ run. ^^; * Dylan offers an arm to Jalanda You can lean on me if it helps... [Sue] Hafta get up early in the morning if you wanna beat me! ^_~ Oh... *Notices the others lagging behind, sheepish look* Sorry there, Jalanda, Mitsuo, Dylan, Feray....didn't mean to leave you in the dust. Just trying to have a little fun. ^^; * Mitsuo stops, panting slightly, "It's fine... ^^;' * Erellisae blinks, ears drooping at getting third place, but just as soon perking up once she notices the activity in the town. ^^ It's okay.. ^^ [Sue] Well, I'll make it up to you....I'll treat you all to lunch. There's a nice little cafe in the middle of town, if I recall, or there's a tavern across the way....votes? * Jalanda slows, considering Dylan's gesture for a long moment... then she takes Dylan's offer. I mean, you don't have to order booze, kid. =P They serve water and juice same as most places do. * Mitsuo sighs, "Juice isn't increadibly...uh...manly or anything...er...Bah! ^^;" Yeah... I can slip you a little ale if you really want.. ^_- ^_- Really? Er...Uh... ^^; [Sue] Right! The tavern. I mean, it's not as if there's a lot of heavy drinkers in there this time of day, and if I remember right, they serve a mean rabbit stew. * Mitsuo blushes and shakes his head, "...Nothing." Mean Rabbit? Are they dangerous? * Jalanda looks at the little Puffy invading her hood, and doesn't stop it. Sue laughs. [Sue] Nah, I just mean it's really delicious. Let's go! *Heads off through town* * Feray grins at Mitsuo and follows Sue.. ^^ * Erellisae looks around, not too worried either way, following Sue. ^^ * Mitsuo follows Sue, still shaking his head. ^^; * Dill makes itself comfy, peeking out of Jalanda's hood, and puffs quietly, though merrily. About halfway through town, Sue skids to a halt and ducks into the shadow of a building, swearing under her breath. [Sue] Awww, crap!! ? What's wrong? * Feray blinks and also skids to a stop.. ^^; * Dylan looks up the street * Rion speaks to the hidden Sue. * Got something to hide? * Erellisae blinkies, looking around confused. "Uhm... Sue...?" ^^; * Jalanda keeps her leisurely pace with Dylan, noticing Sue up ahead has stopped.... Across the square, you can see a group of about ten people, dressed in red, white, and gold robes, walking along in a double file line and singing soft, sonorous music in low voices....they look very regal and VERY out of place. * Dylan gently steps to one side to like the group past. * Erellisae watches them, eyes wide. She runs a hand through her jet black hair in a rather masculine manner, which nevertheless betrays an attractive face beneath the dirty locks. We hear that she explored some ruins in the jungle to the north, and we believe this is the sign we seek. You are the only one said to have traveled to that place and can take us there. Are you sure you will not reconsider? The Spirits will reward you, as will we.... * Rion defiantly flaps his arms at the Devotee. * Oh yeah? I do have the authority to recommend to the Archaeological Council that these ruins be made a special excavation site. She wears deep orangish-red clothing, torn and practically tied to her body, and her skin is a dark, rich brown from head to toe. Her hair is short for a woman, and she carries a grappling hook strapped to her belt. Actually it is the Woodpecker... but close enough, I suppose. Adventure? Yeah, I'm up to riskin' gettin' my bowels ripped out any day. 'smy job. We'll try to make sure they're put back if they are. Sue snickers. [Sue] Great, then you'll fit in fine with this group.
