"GOooooood Moooooooorning!" ^_^ * Erellisae zips downstairs, starting to attack breakfast with vigour. ^^ * Dylan falls out of bed with a WHOOMP! . o O ( Who needs alarm clocks with friends like these. ) * Mitsuo is downstairs once again, reading a book. He looks up, "^^; Good Morning, Erel." Most of the inn's patrons pay little mind to Erellisae, as the town is usually rather lively.... Memfefmrmfrrmfmfmff.. *gets dressed* * Feray saunters down slowly after Erel, her hair loose around her shoulders...she yawns softly. ^^ Although it must be admitted, not quite as lively as Erellisae. ^_^ [Sue] Grmph...? [Sue] 'S too early....mrbgrmble.... Good morning, Mitsuo and Erel... ^^ * Syri seems to be sitting on Sue's stomach, kwuuing sleepily ^^ * Dill is riding the early morning Erellisae-coaster * Erellisae smiles at Mitsuo, grabbing various food from the breakfast tables. "Hii! Sleep well?" :D Yeah, I slept well. ^^ I already ate, actually...they have really good pancakes here. ^^ * Feray saunters to the table and slumps into a chair without grabbing any food, instead reaching for a slender rope of leather, beginning to tie her hair back.. * Mikari enters the inn, looking around and showing no signs of a hangover. * Dylan packs up all his stuff before lumbering downstairs. * Feray looks up from her hair to nod a little to Dylan. ^^ * Erellisae smiles at everyone, eating heartily. ^^ * Syri notices it isn't working and moves closer, sitting on Sue's face much like a cat would 'Morning all. I trust we are all full of energy for the day ahead? Hey, late sleepers! I guess I won't get goin' until dinnertime if I wait for for you, heh. * Dylan grins widely [Sue] O_o MRFPH! Sue thrashes and tries to breathe * Mitsuo nods, putting his book in his backpack and standing up. ^^; * Rion moans, sounding as though in agony, before rolling over once and pulling the pillow over his face.. * * Syri jumps off of Sue's face, kwuuing ^^ * Feray looks amused at that and finishes with her hair, resting her chin in a hand. * Erellisae grins at Dylan. "Of course I'm full of energy!" :D Sorry if we made you wait, Ms. Mikari was it? Sue sits up, looking around for her attacker. [Sue] Syri! *sighs* No sleeping on my face! I'm now taking bets on how long it'll take Rion to get up and out of bed this morning. Kwuu~~! * Syri hops, glad that Sue's finally up * Mitsuo sits down at the main table, "...Hmm. Are we taking bets?" * Dylan thinks for a moment and says "I bet on in about 25 seconds from now" and jogs upstairs. [Sue] Okay, okay, I'm getting up. *Grumbles and drags herself out of bed* Have you had breakfast, Syri? *She looks around to see who else is still in the girls' room.* I guess it doesn't matter now, eh Mitsuo? ^_- Dylan just made it all moot point! * Syri scurries out of Sue's room and towards the guys' room, hopping almost three feet onto Rion's back Uh, yeah. Well, whatever... I didn't plan on going out today an'way so I'm in no hurry. *shrugs as she finds a chair, then stretches widely and leans back in it* * Dylan picks up Rion by the scruff of the neck and says "Good Morning Sleepy-head!" in a painfully cheery voice * Mitsuo shakes his head, smiling, "I guess he did..." Sue blinks at the animal's sudden disappearance, then shrugs and continues to dress. * Syri tumbles on the floor, squeaking as Dylan decides to play with Rion Sorry, Syri. Didn't see you there. * Rion is leat upon and then suddenly hoisted out of bed, sporting the rumpled clothing from the previous night.. * Ohhhooooouhhhggghh... O_o ...Kwu. >:| Wakey-wakey, Rion. Busy day. Hope you're not hung-over. * Feray stretches, several popping noises emitting from her back, before smiling cheerfully. Might help me wake up a bit. * Dylan puts Rion down so he's stand, but steadies him with a hand * Rion stands wobbily.. * Uhhh... ..why not more sleep? [Sue] So...how did everyone sleep? And I don't suppose we've heard from our guide this morning, have we? Wasn't she going to come by the inn this morning? * Rion rubs his pounding temples.. * * Mikari sits back, thumbing her knife as a test for sharpness and looking with a satisfied expression as she chews on something or other * Mitsuo nods, and reaches for the tea pot in the center of the table, and pours Sue a cup. (struggling) Kwwwwwuuuuuurrrr!! * Feray points to Mikari. "Uh...she's right here, Sue. Have some of that tea." ^^; * Dylan rubs his chin thoughtfully * Syri pops his head out of the pack with some effort and goes to tending his ows * Erellisae blinks, then looks under the table at Syri. Mikari? * Mikari spits out the shell of some strange nut and grins at Sue. I guess.. * Syri notices the shell of a nut hit the ground, looking up at where it came from, sounding obviously far more interested in it than the pack "Kwuuuuuuuuuuuu?" ^-^ * Feray looks amusedly at Syri and Mitsuo. ^^ * Syri hops up onto the table, looking curiously at Mikari. She laughs quietly to herself and drops one of the uneaten ones to Syri, knowing they have a mild stimulant effect (which will no doubt be stronger on such a small animal) ^_^ * Dylan licks a finger and taps a triange of dots on Rion's forehead which glow and evaporate. * Jalanda doesn't seem to be downstairs with everyone now that you notice it... * Rion blinks. * * Feray furrows her brow and looks about. "Just going to find Jalanda... and get candy." :D * Syri grins, nibbling on Mitsuo's hair Oh.. okay.. * Rion fights back a rush of bile, the thought of candy coupled with last nights intoxicants.. * Sue scans the street idly as she ambles toward the candy vendor, keeping an eye out for Jalanda. * Mitsuo blinks at the chewing on his hair, "....Syri...I sorta need my hair...gah that tickles!" * Dylan sees Rion go a touch green. "Sit down boy. It'll help" * Mikari is in no hurry, and waits for everyone to get up before going anywhere. * Feray follows along, a hand on her hip as she saunters... * Rion drops down at the table, looking for viable, stomachable, foods.. * * Erellisae grins mischeviously at Rion, sticks her tongue out, then slips out the door after Sue and Feray. ^_^ * Syri continues to nibble, his tail swishing back and forth happily ^^; Sorry Syri...I should follow the others outside...fraid you gotta go back in the bag.. Kwuuuuuu! * Rion pays Erel no heed, concentrating more on just not being sick or woozy.. * Sue buys herself a small bag of candy, then looks at the others. [Sue] Anyone else want some? * Dill puffs at Sue Pufff! * Mitsuo starts to head outside with the others. * Dill flapps around Sue's candy bag. * Syri hops into the bag, but quickly out of the bag and then up onto the table again, managing to get his head stuck down Mikari's shirt O_o Hmm? "'s okay." ^_^ Next to the candy vendor is a food booth, which is apparently trying to prepare lunch for the midday shopping crowd. Unfortunately, the stall owner seems to be having a bit of trouble, swearing colorfully at his stubbornly not-burning cookfire. Kwuuuuuuukwuuu ^-^ * Feray blinks. ^^; O_o Pffft!! *spits out some nutshells and starts reaching down her shirt to get the Carro out* Sue nods. [Sue] Okay. *Grins and buys a bag for Dill, however* * Erellisae blinks at the man and his cookfire. "...wassamatter?" Agh! No one's allowed down there, ya little mouse! * Mitsuo hmms, and looks over Erel's shoulder, "Yeah, can we help?" * Syri squirms as Mikari extracts him from her cleavage. "Kwuu! Kwuuuuu!" ^-^ * Feray looks about for Jalanda. ^^ [Food Vendor] The blasted fire won't start! ;_; Grrr! This book of matches is worthless. Must've gotten left out in the rain or something, I swear.... *Looks disconsolately at his not-burning fire* * Erellisae grins. "Don' worry, I can help!" :D [Food Vendor] You can? How? * Erellisae starts concentrating, a red glow in her hands. ^_^ * Mikari finally grabs hold of Syri's tail, and lifts him out upside-down. She stares him in the face, a blush barely noticable under her dark skin. Hey! Don't do that again, or not more nuts for you! Capiche`?.... The vendor watches curiously to see what Erellisae is going to do with that glowing finger of hers... * Erellisae casts Burn on the stubborn fire, blasting it with magical flame. :D * Syri sways to and fro, not noticing that he's suspended by his tail so much as playing pendulum. "KwuuuUuuuUUUuuuuu.." ^-^ * Feray snaps her head down to look at Erel and her magic, considering what Dylan told her.. * Mikari closes her eyes and sighs, then follows the others with the carro still dangling from her fingers at her side, since he doesn't seem to mind * Syri twirls around like a yoyo almost, climbing up his tail finally and up Mikari's arm, stopping at her head * Dylan stays in the Inn, keeping an eye on poor fragile Rion-kun Ack! * Rion slowly eats, pecking away ever cautiously.. * * Feray looks to the vendor, wondering if Erel's show of magic will cause some trouble down the road.. The vendor's eyes widen as his cookfire suddenly springs to life with a blast from Erellisae's fingers! Much like a small flamethrower. He grins. [Vendor] Hey, thank you, miss! How'd you do that? Where's that boy, carro... I don't need to be a petsitter today. ^^; * Erellisae giggles. "Magic!" ^_^ * Jalanda is hard to pick out at first, but you spot her a distance away from you, not far from a couple of the Icarian followers chatting beneath a tree. She seems to be watching them silently, pondering something... * Syri kwuus and gnaws on Mikari's hair happily * Feray blinks and turns, slinking slowly towards Jal and leaving the others to talk to the merchant. ^^; Down the road quite a ways, probably unnoticed to all but the more observant of the party, are two temple devotees, the same ones Jalanda is watching. They talk quietly to each other, looking a bit surprised at Erellisae's demonstration and watching her closely. [Vendor] Well miss, I'm much obliged to you! [Sue] Hey Erel, done playing good samaritan? *Smiles* Let's go find Jalanda, shall we? * Erellisae nodsnods. "Okay!" :D ^^; Glad we could help, Sir. * Feray edges up to Jal. "Hey...we've been looking for you." ^^ * Jalanda shifts her stance slightly, turning her head towards Feray as she approaches and nodding once, some light reflecing off her fine lavender robe. The temple devotees continue to talk, not noticing Feray at first. * Feray 's voice is low but cheery, not wanting to disturb the devotees. * Syri hops off of Mikari's head, dashing towards Mitsuo, the sunlight actually not seeming to faze him at the moment. You were not looking for me, you were looking for the path ahead... it is good to see you up and about. * Feray blinks a little and sweatdrops. ^^; Uh...thanks...are you alright? While Feray and Jalanda are conversing, the devotees vanish around a corner. * Mitsuo stops, and thinks he sees Jalanda...he adjusts his glasses a few times. ^^; Hey Erel, is that Jalanda? * Feray tracks the devotees with her eyes but easily looks to Jal as they disappear from sight, her stance friendly. ^^ Sue looks up. [Sue] Eh, Mitsuo? *Looks* Oh, there she is.... * Jalanda turns to look at the followers one more time before they disappear. "I have a premonition about those clergy today..." * Syri tries to tackleglomp Mitsuo, instead just headbutting his leg due to size differences * Erellisae blinkblinks, then follows Mitsuo's gaze. "I think so!" ^_^ Hmm? * Mikari wipes her forehead in relief now that the stimulated carro is off of it, and starts to readjust her clothing so that she will no longer appear to have been attacked by a promiscuous carro Sue starts walking over to Feray and Jalanda, in no particular hurry. * Mitsuo blinks at the nudge, and looks down, surprised, "...Syri? You don't mind the sun?" Premonition? What sort? We should probably be on our way soon. * Feray blinks and looks at Sue. ^^; * Syri happily nuzzles Mitsuo's neck, gnawing on his ear Sue blinks at Feray. [Sue] What, something stuck between my teeth? Huh? No. ^^ Just talking to Jal...let's go. ^^; * Jalanda smoothes out her robe's front once, and adjusts her hood calmly, nodding to Sue. Hm, Erel? * Mitsuo blinks, and follows against his better judgement... ^^ As Erellisae peers down the alleyway, there is suddenly a small yelp and then silence. * Dill hops off Dylan's head and flaps after her. .... ^^; * Syri nudges Mitsuo's leg. We need a leash or a rope or something....but she'd probably tug us along after her. * Dylan frowns, and goes to see what happened. * Mitsuo blinks at the yelp, and walks a bit faster, "Hold on a second..." * Feray heads down after Erel.. * Syri slowly follows after, trying to keep out of the sun now * Erellisae doesn't appear to be in the alleyway. ^^; * Jalanda rejoins everyone when they appear ready to set out, but she perks when the yelp echos in the street. The others who peer down the alleyway after her see no sign of Erellisae, but they do see a flutter of white, red, and gold robes, disappearing around a corner. ...? Erel? * Dylan RUNS after it. Erellisae...? ...Robes? What?! O_o * Rion follows the massive Lainian. * HOLD IT!!! * Mitsuo quickly mimics Dylan! * Feray narrows her eyes and speeds up her pace.. Hey Stop! It is as I feared... After a few minutes, a small procession of devotees, chanting solemnly, exits the main gate of town. They do not appear to have anything concealed, however; there are not enough of them to hide it if they were hauling someone away. ...Great. Potential? I didn't think they were cultists too...*frowns* Actually... Hmm... We'd better follow them... * Dylan growls * Mitsuo bends down and picks up Syri in the meantime. ^^; Mikari sees a flicker of white vanish around another corner, apparently heading for the opposite side of town.... * Syri doesn't seem to be moving.. Hmm. Only if they have her. I'd almost suggest we check town first. Jalanda, do the Spirits offer any guidance? * Mitsuo frowns, and checks to see if he's sleeping. * Jalanda reaches out into what appears to be empty space, the water vapor in the air beginning to gather and coalesce into a globe of pure crystal where nothing was a moment before... * Syri is, but he doesn't seem to react to anything around like he usually does in his sleep * Mikari leaps upward to catch an overhanging drainpipe, then performs a lightfooted acrobatic manuever to lift herself onto the rooftops to get a better view of the alley where the white figure last disappeared ...Mikari...WHAT did you do my carro? O_o * Feray blinks and looks to Jalanda. Spirits... show me the secrets behind Erel's star.... ...Er...nevermind? O_o * Mitsuo frowns, and places Syri gently in the backpack so he can rest. The crystal globe in Jalanda's hands begins to glow, and an image appears inside it... * Jalanda gazes into it's depths, trying to clarify and strength the image. A group of devotees walks through a swampy marsh, chanting softly and talking among themselves. Erellisae is tossed over a devotee's shoulder, unconscious.... The image fades away after a moment. * Dylan twitches and growls *Mitsuo notices Mikari disappear from site over the rooftop of a nearby house ;)* * Mitsuo pales, "..." ...hmmm... Okay. Once we find Ms. Mikari. We find out where this marsh might be. * Jalanda dispels the image rather solemnly. "The mire. We do not have much time before this comes to pass." Mikari can no longer see the figures, but straight ahead is the secondary entrance into town, a gate on a roadway which leads north and west, toward the Gavren Swamp. * Dill hides in Jalanda's cowl, apparently shying away from Dylan >> Jalanda gains 5 Water EXP from casting Scry. ...What do they want her for...? * Mitsuo shakes his head. Let's worry about that later, okay? * Mikari looks over the swamp from the top of a relatively tall roof. ...Damn. * Jalanda sets out to locate Mikari. * Mikari drops to the ground and into a sidestreet, out of sight. * Mikari jumps down from the wall she just climbed over, meeting Sue. [Sue] *Walks over to Mikari* Well? Find her? Bah, no. They're in the swamp. But at least now I have a reason to kick their asses. ^_^ * Dylan cracks his knuckles grimly. [Sue] Uh....that's a good thing, right? ^^; What's IN the swamp, anyway? I do hope they hand her over nicely. ...I sort of doubt that. They didn't take her very nicely. Swamp? Ehh, nothing much. Monsters. Alligators. Shall we go? ^_^ [Sue] Uh, sure. Need our comic relief and fangirl back, don't we? *Sighs* Come on, gang.... * Dylan nods. Better than standin' around here with our thumbs up our butts. And so, the party heads for the swamp.... * Dylan starts to walk. Hopefully in the right direction * Mitsuo nods solemnly, "...Erel's my friend. ^^; I promised I'd stick by her, you know? Besides...I really agree with Miss Mikari there. Beat them up kinda mentality, you know?" [Sue] How...eloquent, Rion. * Rion grins his award-winning grin at Sue. * * Jalanda nods to Sue as she catches up, looking quite troubled by these events to say the least... Sue grins at Rion. MEANWHILE....... Erellisae wakes slowly with a very large headache, bouncing along as she is thrown over someone's shoulder. She is carefully gagged so she cannot cast spells, and her wrists are tied, rather hastily and sloppily, but not her feet. The devotee carrying her is very, very large, however.... * Erellisae blinkblinks, then tenses, looking around. ^^; "Mmf!" * Erellisae starts kicking the man as best she can. ;_; "Mmf MMF MMF! Mmf mff mf!" The devotee next to Erel's "ride" turns to look at her. [Devotee] Ah, she is awake. *turns to Erellisae* Well little one, I will take off your gag if you promise not to cast magic. If you cause any trouble, I fear I will have to silence you again. * Erellisae pauses, then nods, ears drooping. ;_; The devotee carrying Erellisae reacts no more than a tree would at being kicked... O_o [Devotee] Very well then. *smiles and removes her gag* I'm terribly sorry about our unceremonious invitation. "Why'd you kidnap me?!" ;_; [Devotee] *Shakes his head* Not kidnap, invited. We wish to talk to you, and we were uncertain you would agree to hear us out. Your friends don't seem to think very well of us, you see. But you, however...you seem to hold much promise, unlike the unbelievers you travel with... * Erellisae raises an eyebrow. One, you appeared quite taken with our robes, and I could sense a deep reverence in you for the Spirits and the Icarians. Two, you have an odd appearance, unlike any we have seen before. Three, we sense extraordinary magical power in you. It may be you are a sign, sent by the Icarians. * Erellisae 's eyes start to go sparkly, but then she shakes her head. "Extraordinary magical power...?" [Devotee] Why, yes. When you cast that little fire spell back in the marketplace, those of us with magical ability sensed the potential behind it. So we wished to take you to the holy place beyond the swamps, so we might talk with you, and perhaps present you to the Spirits to see if they have special designs for you. *Lowers his voice conspiratorially* [Devotee] Who knows? You may have been sent by the Spirits to become the next High Priestess of the Icarians! * Erellisae 's ears perk up, before she quiets down, thinking. "... well... if you're going to invite me, at least let me walk!" ;_; As Sue, Feray, Mitsuo, Dylan, Mikari, Jalanda, and Rion crash through the muck of the swamp, they hear, off in the distance, the squelch of tramping feet and low voices, one of them high pitched and cute. [Devotee] *chuckles* All right, if you won't run away without giving us a chance. Draven, let her down. The large devotee gently sets Erellisae down on her feet and unties her hands for her. * Dylan picks up the pace. * Mitsuo follows along silently, overhearing the clamor. That's probably them. Hmm.. Yeah...shh. Don't want them to know we're onto them yet... * Rion nods. * * Erellisae brushes off her robes, and keeps walking, a little hesitantly, with the men. ^^; * Dylan slows down, and looks at the others quizzically *We* have nothing to hide. [Devotee] Tell me, young one, have you ever considered joining the Icarian Temple? * Jalanda slogs onward faster as the voice breaks the silence... * Mikari leads the group, knowing this area fairly well, and is thus able to avoid walking in areas that could be described as "squelching." * Dylan speeds up again, as he's gonna make noise either way. * Erellisae remains silent, thinking. "I... let me see the Temple, first." :/ * Mitsuo tries to overhear the conversation. * Rion boldly slogs along.. * * Mikari frowns slightly at their noise, but doesn't bother to comment as it'd be impossible to be stealthy with such a large group of outsiders. * Feray moves along as quietly as she can, sword in hand.. * Dill hides in Jalanda's cowl. [Devotee] Very well then. The place we visit is not a temple, not yet...though it may have been once. It is an ancient ruin, from the time of Angelou or perhaps even earlier. We believe Feena passed this way some weeks ago; it was she who brought word of the ruin back to Garist. [Devotee] We believe she wished us to make a pilgrimage there and hear the will of the Spirits. . o O ( Like hell she did... ^^; ) * Mikari turns around to make a "shush" gesture at the others as she grabs hold of a tree and skillfully disappears into the branches as she sneaks up on them in unison with the others. * Erellisae looks a little skeptical, but listens. "The will of the spirits is there...?" [Devotee] And look, to show us we have followed correctly, she led you to us! *eyes shine* Suddenly, one of the devotees in back whirls around with a cry of warning, hearing a soft squelching of footsteps in the trees. * Rion stops dead.. * * Mitsuo blinks, "(w) ...Uh oh..." * Dylan raises an eyebrow, and stoically advances * Rion listens and looks very intently.. * * Jalanda remains quiet, yet she studies the swamps for indications of their movements. Her left hands slides into the sleeve of her robe and draws an arcane card... [Devotee guard] Who goes there? Show yourselves! * Dylan coughs loudly (muttered) Grrrr.... if they haven't been already, I'm gonna give 'em each a complimentary circumcision... * Erellisae looks a little worried at the first devotee's comment, then turns around to see what everyone else is looking at. "...guys? Is that you...?" I don't believe I'm obliged to give my name to criminals. *Calls out in a loud voice* From the folds of robes spring daggers, and the devotee talking to Erellisae springs in front of her as if to shield her from attack. * Mikari looks down and to her right, to where Dylan is attracting attention * Mitsuo raises an eyebrow at the devotee's action. * Dylan really can't be bothered to draw weapons yet. These guys don't really scare him. ... Hey! Don't hurt him! He's my friend! ;_; * Jalanda flings the card emblazaned with the image of a Hierophant straight at the foot of the man guarding Erelisae, stepping from the marsh into view. * Feray slides into view beside Dylan. "Hand her over, guys!" Ms. Erellisae? You okay, little one? * Erellisae pushes past the devotee in front of her, tackleglomping Dylan. [Devotee] Criminals? You dare call worshippers of the Icarians criminals?? *Surprisingly, he looks...hurt!* * Mikari detaches the grappling hook weapon from her belt in preperation. ^^; We'd uh...really like Erellisae back, please? You didn't even let us say goodbye. Rather rude, if I do say so myself. The devotee blinks as Erellisae sort of frees herself. ^^; ...For (cough) 'Worshippers of Icarians...' These lands are foreign, but I *doubt* kidnapping is legal. Priests of the Spirits... you seek to drag one destined for the stars through the mire of your own misguided ideals...? * Erellisae latches onto Dylan, crying a little and explaining in a rush of words. "Yeah I was so scared when they kidnapped me but they only wanted to talk with me about the church cuz they think I have magical powers and they wanna hear the will of the Spirits and and and..." ^^;; That is a sin greater than anything else... * Dylan ruffles Erel's hair. Are you sure you're okay little one. They didn't hurt you? * Mitsuo looks relieved, and turns to Erel, "You okay, Erel?" [Devotee] *Sighs* We sought to bring her only because we feared we would never have a chance to talk otherwise. But she appears not to wish to listen.... At a sign from their leader, all sheath their weapons. * Erellisae rubs her head. "They gave me a little headache..." then hmphs, turning to the devotees. "Hey! I said I'd at least see the church! Isn't that enough?" Hit the road, Jack, and don'tcha come back. * Dylan growls You knocked her unconcsious? * Mikari leaps from high up in the trees to land on the ground next to Dylan and Erel, looking a bit disappointed. * Erellisae shakes her head emphatically at Rion. "No! Please don't hurt them... Please, this might be my adventure! I have to find out..." ...I'd sort of rank knocking people on the head up there with drinking....in your eyes anyway. [Devotee] As I said before, your friends do not seem to agree. Very well young one, we will leave you alone for now. But I do hope to meet you in the future and convince you to join our cause. * Feray furrows her brow.. * Jalanda looks up from her hood, as the card on the ground mysteriously vanishes into a wisp of shadowy light. [Devotee] But if you wish to follow to the temple....by all means, do so. * Dylan looks down to Erel. Heyyy, old pals. *smirks at the devotees* I hope I get another reason to dance with ya soon; I'm a little disappointed right now. I wasn't gonna hurt them. I just wanted them to go away. They dunno what they're talkin' about anyways. It's your call, little one. What do you wish to do? The devotee salutes mockingly to Mikari, and then the whole company turns and walks away quickly through the swamp. ...I don't trust them, Erel...I wouldn't. * Erellisae looks both confused and more than a little nervous, shaking her head... :/ B-but... :/ [Devotee] *calls back* I am called Jiandir, if you seek me, young one! * Dill flaps at Erel worriedly. Puff.. * Mikari grits her teeth and turns as red as someone of her complexion can. "STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HER AND GARIST!! I'm WARNING ya!!" * Feray sweatdrops. * Jalanda speaks softly to the girl. "Erellisae, noone can tell you what to do with your life but yourself.... seek your destiny with your own feet, not upon the backs of others." There is no answer to Mikari as the group of devotees disappears silently into the trees. ...Thank goodness they're gone. I hope they don't have a change of heart and come back with more of their cronies.. There is a rustling sound off to the left.... We should getta move on.. ...? * Erellisae glomps Puffy a little, thinking... :-/ * Feray jerks her head up and turns to the left, raising her sword. * Mikari mutters incoherently as they leave, obviously restraining herself... "Bastards..." * Rion draws his sword.. * Or... ... Ms. Erellisae. Do you want to go back to town now? they could be changing their minds already. Strange hissing sounds come from the bushes, and suddenly, two dark shapes and one pale one jump out! Ah, hell! ...I... o_O Right now I would, yeah! ^^; * Mikari whips out her grappling hook and jumps forward, ready to hurt something. * Dylan raises an eyebrow * Erellisae takes out her mace, moving close to Dylan. ^^; Ack! Sue swears to herself and defends, surprised! >> Rion's declaration! * Rion gets ready to use Blink, settling upon Spider 2 as a target! * * Mikari runs about on the perimeter of the area, standing back for a brief moment as she surveys the battlefield. She holds her grappling hook taut like a rather pointy whip. ^_^ >> Mitsuo's declaration! * Mitsuo closes his eyes and raises his right hand, balling it into a fist. It begins to seep a red aura as points the hand towards PlopMold. As her feet hit the ground, she flings her grappling hook out, skewering it with a >SQUIRCH >> Mikari attacks the Plop Mold! First attack misses. Second attack hits! 8 damage! * Mikari has apparently hit a non-vital jello area, but proceeds to leap over it, jerking the line from behind her so that it rips through the slime with a >SCHWLIP< as she lands nimbly on the other side. >> Mitsuo's action! Burning rage, explode and consume! * Mitsuo balls up a fist of burning energy, and throws it at the target. The ball expands into a latticework of red spears, igniting everything they touch as they seek to piece through the enemy! >> Mitsuo casts Burn! on Plop Mold. 30 damage! >> Jalanda's action! * PlopMold melts a little A great calamity is in your future... Tower! * Jalanda fluidly hurls a card at Spider 2 that affixes itself mysteriously to their person, embellished with the symbol of a great fortress struck by holy lightning. The skies above rumble briefly, before a bolt of power strikes down upon the foe like it's effigy, rendering them helpless and dazed for a time. >> Jalanda executes Tower on Spider 2. 12 damage! Spider's attack on Feray is canceled! Be still... your time is not yet... * Spider chitters as the lightning skitters through his body, paralysing him! * Feray is trembling faintly, her gaze rooted on the first spider. >> Feray ceases defending. >> Spider 1 executes Poisonous Bite on Feray! 4 damage! Feray is poisoned! Nnnhhaa! Damn...! * Feray drops her sword! O_o * Mikari pops up next to the bulk of the group and glances over towards Feray. * Jalanda having stopped the second assailant, can only watch as the first continues and bites Feray harshly... Ehh, suck it up; you'll live. ^_- Ahem. Medic! * Erellisae looks up from her casting. "Feray!" * Spider 's eyes glitter with rage as he jumps torward Feray! His fangs slice across Feray, leaving a purplish stain... >> Sue's declaration. Prepares a spell! * Feray claps a hand over the bite mark, sweating profusely. ^^; >> Dylan's action! * Dylan roars as the diamond pattern glows and sparkles rise from the ground to attach themselves to people. All gain 30 G, 14 EXP! * Dylan goes over to Mikari, and offers her a hand up. [Sue] Erk. *Sweatdrops* Everyone okay? * Jalanda strides over to Feray, bending down and attempting to rouse her... * Rion sheathes his weapon and quickly surveys the area.. * * Feray shudders violently under Mitsuo's shaking and she whimpers before snapping her eyes open, unseeing...she quickly shakes her head, taking a deep breath.. ...It's okay, Feray...The spiders are gone... .... * Feray clears her throat, her voice a little shaky. "That's great. Is everyone alright?" * Dylan pats Mikari on the cheek You may be at ease... most are unhurt. We're all fine.. Rise and shine, Ms. Mikari * Mikari squints and stares blankly for a few seconds before shaking her head and standing up. "Bah... I hate it when they do that..." * Mitsuo smiles, and offers Feray a hand up. * Dylan pulls Mikari up. * Feray gazes at Mitsuo's hand and then pulls herself up...she nods slightly.. Thanks.. Need me to fix that spider bite? * Feray grabs her sword from the muck and tucks it into the sheath.. Mmmf. S...spider bite? Oh...right.. You okay? How many fingers am I holding up ? *holds up 3* * Mitsuo nods, and his hand glows a soft blue. * Jalanda takes a few steps away from Mitsuo and Feray, putting on that strange face again and petting the puffy still residing in her hood... I hope this helps! * Mitsuo claps his hands, and a thin blue line crawls along the ground towards Feray. The line curls up and around, then dissipates, taking the wounds with it. * Dill pufpurrs and nuzzles Jalanda * Feray rubs her face with the back of her hand, calming slightly.. * Mikari pulls out her flask and takes a particularly...long...swig. She holds it in the back of her mouth for a moment before swallowing heavily and exhaling. >> Mitsuo casts Heal. Feray regains 46 HP! Thanks, Mitsuo...and Jal, thanks for your concern... * Feray shakes her head. "Are we ready to go again...?" Also could you pass me that flask for a moment, I need to get this damn swamp out my mouth. Yes, I think so. .o( Reliving the past, it is not easy... but I should not think of such things now. ) * Dylan hands the flask back to Mikari Sue grumbles to herself something about icky green goo. [Sue] Everyone okay? Does anyone else need healing? * Rion does a quick scouting of the area.. * Smoooth.. I'm fine... * Dylan coughs slightly * Mikari looks at it...wipes it off...puts it away without drinking any more. * Feray shivers faintly but waits.. * Mikari nudges Sue Looks like everyone is fine.. shall we go? 'Ey... you got a spell to remove spider guts? * Mikari wipes a strand off and flings it at a nearby tree Yeah, the sooner we get out of here, the better. This sludge can't be too healthy for us... [Sue] Yes...but the question is...which WAY do we go? ^^; Yeah..let's go.. * Erellisae ewws at the swamp, trying to get onto more solid ground. ^^; "Ugh... sorry I had to drag you all out here--..." she says, before quieting as she remembers exactly why she's out here. * Syri stirs in Mitsuo's pack, groan-kwuuing quietly enough that only those with exceptional hearing pick it up * Feray's characteristic cheeriness is dampened but she holds up bravely.. ^^ Do not be sorry.. Ms. Erellisae. Do you still want to see the ruins, or temple or whatever. Or shall we return to town and clean up? [Sue] *smiles* 'Sokay Erellisae, it's not your fault. Sue gives Erel a hearty pat on the back and tousles her hair. It's okay, Erel! We're just glad you're okay. :) Hey, the swamp's great for ya! Mud's good for your toes. ^_^ [Sue] Hmmm. Does this stuff make a good face mask, Mikari? *scooping up a handful of glop* * Erellisae bites her lip, looking unsure, her ears drooping. "I..." Kwuuuuurrrnnnn.... kw..zzzzzz * Syri passes out again, though nobody notices *** Syri is now known as Ashton *looks at Sue* Hmm... I wouldn't recommend it. Don't think you could fool anyone 'at way. And you wouldn't be able to see to skewer 'em back. ....It's okay, Erel. Really. :) * Mitsuo smiles. [Sue] Uh...I meant more for cosmetic purposes. ^^; * Erellisae shakes her head, clenching her eyes shut before looking around. "I... I /gotta/ go! If I don't go I could miss out on my whole adventure... I have to...!" Sue guesses Mikari doesn't use special facial treatments often... Sue purses her lips, regarding Erellisae for a moment, then turns to the others. [Sue] I dunno. Up to you guys. * Feray is silent. ...Are you sure about this, Erel? After what they did? Whatever you choose, Ms. Erellisae. I'll come with you and protect you. Erelissae? ...Burying yer face in the mud makes you look better? Well sheesh, I oughta be the most beautiful person in the world by now, then!... This temple... they said Feena visited it, didnt they...? * Mikari wipes some more spider entrails off of her clothing. * Erellisae looks small, wringing her hands a little and nodding. "... yes. Yeah, I'm sure. If nothing else... I have to at least see. Even if I don't go through with it, I have to /see/ the temple, make my decision, right..?" Sue grins. [Sue] I'll explain later, Mikari. I've got some face powders and lipsticks that would look incredible on you... And this's probably a hair removal treatment, I bet.... So, do you want to walk, little one, or have a piggy-back ride? Well.. lets just get out of this swamp, before those dumb kooks show up, or more things come leapin' out of the shrubbery. * Mitsuo nods, "Okay...but can I come with you? You know...so nothing bad happens to you. :)" [Sue] Well, Jalanda, I don't know if she did...but if either she or Justin heard about it, they'd both be drawn here like a magnet. * Erellisae nods gratefully at Dylan and Mits. "Yeah... thanks, guys..." Erellisae smiles, if a little wanly. ^^ "But I'll walk. Gotta make my own footsteps, right?" ^_^ Eheh.... Yeah, I might let you.... if you were ta wrestle me to the ground and pin a spear in my shoulder. ^_^ Look forward t'it. Right you are. Lead on. For today, we'll follow in your footsteps. * Jalanda nods... We may discover a vital clue as well about that which we all seek. Oh, no, not really. * Erellisae smiles, then nods, heading in the direction the devotees left off in. "Besides, Jalanda's right! We might find something out!" :D * Feray looks over her shoulder towards the way they came out of town, wanting nothing but to hide in her bed at the inn...but she squares her shoulders and follows Erel. Most of them involve pointy metal objects being stuck into OTHER people... but then, that's just me. * Dylan follows Erel, looming slightly. * Mitsuo follows the others. ^^; * Dill nuzzles Jalanda, then flaps over to rest in Erel's hair. * Mikari finally turns towards Erellisae, now that everyone seems to have given enough attention to her. * Rion begins trekking along, mumbling about how if he were going it alone, he'd never have allowed himself to get stuck in up to his armpits in some godforsaken swamp.. * Sue wants to ask Feray if she's okay, but doesn't want her to think she's babying her either... [Sue] *brightly* Well, if I remember right, we should be near the northern edge of this icky swamp. The peninsula is covered with jungle; might not be so many swamp creatures there. * Erellisae relaxes a little as they walk, still biting her lip a little with her ears down, but looking a little more sure of herself. Hey... kid.... * Jalanda sighs briefly once, and begins following at her more leisurely pace, less urgently. ...Hey Miss Feray? * Erellisae turns, looking up at Mikari. "...yeah?" After walking a short ways, they hear footsteps and chanting. Sue blinks, then leaves the path and hides behind a large tree. [Sue] Let's wait till they pass, eh? * Feray nods to Sue before looking at Mitsuo.. * Erellisae also hides behind a tree, reckoning white isn't the best thing to go around swamps in. ^^; I--*hears the chanting* ...Doh. Them again. Hold on a moment... --; * Dylan hides too.. * Mitsuo hides the best he can. * Rion keeps a low profile.. * I know you're smart enough to think for yerself. Even if you are still young. But do yourself a favor and stay the 'ell away from people like that. A couple minutes later, the entire procession tromps past, solemn and meditative, but with a certain satisfied air about them. Whatever they saw at the ruins, they must have liked. They pass without seeing or hearing the party, then continue on their way into town. When they are gone, Sue emerges. ...Or give 'em a good knee to the groin if they get near, *she adds as an afterthought* * Feray rubs some mud from the back of her hand as she gets up from where she hid. * Erellisae looks at Mikari, looking determined. "I know. They did just knock me unconscious, after all. ^^; But I have to know." She turns, and keeps walking. * Jalanda remains aloof as the procession passes with single-minded focus... ...Anyway, Feray...Don't feel too badly about the spiders. Really...I mean...uh... ^^; If they ever bug you again...I guess I'll...beat them up? ...Nevermind. ^^; * Mitsuo mentally slaps himself. * Feray blinks at Mitsuo and you can swear a faint blush appears on her cheeks before she clears her throat. "Uh. Thanks....I appreciate that...I mean, that you'd even offer to do that...I mean.." * Feray exhales loudly. "I mean. Thanks." Yeah, I know. That's why you gotta make sure you aren't vulnerable in the first place... 'swhat I had to do. Eventually they learn... No problem... ^^; We are a group now, Ms. Feray. You rely on us, we rely on you. It's how life goes. * Mikari motions towards where they saw the procession pass, with an expression of disdain As the surrounding land turns from gloopy swamp to brush-covered dirt, the trees give way from gnarled, moss-hung things to bright, leafy green trees, hung with ropy vines. They are in the jungle. * Feray furrows her brow at the words. * Feray doesn't say anything however and looks forward.. Ahead looms a great stonework ruin, its edges curled and angled in a strange and beautiful kind of architecture. Sue stops a few feet from the building and stares admiringly. Ugh.. too humid.. ...Wow. Nice digs. * Erellisae looks at the ruins, her head tilted to one side, more sure of coming here. "Woow..." . o O ( Grandpa would go nuts seeing this... ) * Jalanda stops as well, looking at the ruin. * Feray chuckles softly. "Gross understatement...but yeah, nice digs." There better be somethin' in there that I can sell.. Typical. Lovely ruins, and if I get my pad out the only drawing I'll get is "muddy splatter" * Erellisae walks a little way into the ruins, looking around with wide eyes. "I wonder where the Spirits are...?" * Mikari rests her hands on her hips, observing the ruins, not saying much as she's no doubt at least seen them before. The Spirits are everywhere... But... he mentioned the voice of the Spirits... * Jalanda concentrates a moment, closing her eyes. "This place is definitely blessed by the Spirits." [Sue] Hmmmm....surprising. This actually looks like early period Angelounian....pre-cataclysmic architecture. Very, very old. *Eyes shine as she runs a hand down the aged, weathered stone* * Rion examines various nooks and crannies.. stone formations, etc.. looking.. searching.. * Hmm... I don't ever remember hearing of such things.. but many things are possible, and investigating may be fruitful. Or at least interesting. The "spirits?" Bah, the spirits are in one place right now, and that's in my flask. * Mitsuo starts looking intrigued as well, "...Can you tell why it was built?" Sue snickers at Mikari. * Mitsuo looks rather appalled at Mikari, "...^^; They're quite real. We just can't always see them..." [Sue] Hmmm....not yet, Mitsuo, but if we had a look inside I might be able to find a few answers. [Sue] But look, up there...see those carvings? Above the door. That's a human figure, but with great, spreading wings. See the rays of light carved on it, coming from the wings? * Erellisae is already scooting over to the entrance to the ruins, gazing curiously about. ^^; Inside answers, inside shade. It has my vote. [Sue] My FIRST guess is that this was an early Icarian temple. Rarer than the post-cataclysmic temples, which sprang up all over the place. * Dylan wanders into the shade in the entrance * Mikari smirks amiably. "Right. I can't see 'em after I drink 'em. But I appreciate good spirits, especially after a big meal. That's what we call Faith!" Wow...a real Icarian temple? No wonder those guys were swarming all over it... Well.. chances are they were probably just as kooky back then, too. Just their stuff is worth more on an open market. Inside it is dark and musty, but a faint smell of smoke indicates that someone recently burned a torch here. Further examination reveals one placed in a bracket on the wall, just inside the entrance. Sue grabs it. * Jalanda takes a few steps forward as well, into the shady ancient temple. Sue chants a quick spell, and the torch is ablaze with a touch of Fire magic. * Rion examines the place and it's details intently.. * * Erellisae looks around, trying not to stray too far from the group... * Mikari walks inside with the others, following rather idly, since exploring them fully would be more like an item on her To Do list, normally.... As Jalanda enters, the presence of the Spirits becomes slightly stronger; it's almost as if they are trying to speak to her. * Feray follows behind Jal... * Jalanda pauses again. "A presence..." * Dill flaps around.. apparently confused by the ruins... Well, one thing's for sure, more than any hokey spiritual stuff: those Icarians made some pretty fantastic stuff. Too bad most of it's rubble now. We'd have some real fancy furniture oth'wise. * Jalanda puts two hands up to her head, and concentrates a long moment. "...beckoning... to the center..." They're calling us? Seriously? O_o Well...if they're calling us....we should answer... Sue sighs. [Sue] Hey guys...why don't we make a little camp here? It's a long walk back to town, and it'll be getting dark soon. Plus I'm hungry and I want to wash this spider goo off of me. [Sue] Shall we set up a shelter here in the entrance to the ruins? That's all right... Yes.. Let us clean ourselves, and hope the spirits bless us with a safe night's sleep. I wouldn't mind taking a breather myself... ^^; Yeah, sure. Maybe ol' Jal here can get better reception if we wire up an attennae, too. ^_^ [Sue] I mean, you guys are free to explore later. For now, let's make some more torches, find some fresh water, and eat something. Well.. we got this perfectly good ruin here, it's better than outside. * Erellisae nods a little absently, staring deeper into the ruins... * Feray nods... * Jalanda drops her arms back to her sides, silently... [Sue] Okay! Here, someone help me set up the tent. *Takes off her backpack and starts pulling canvas and supplies out of it* ...whatever you wish... Don't wnader off on your own, Ms. Erellisae! * Mitsuo goes to help Sue set up the tent. * Feray rubs her arm.. * Erellisae blinks, and looks back suddenly, biting her lip and shaking her head. "Oh..!
