After a little while, Sue stretches and yawns, then grudgingly gets up and starts nudging the others awake. * Dylan rubs his eyes blearily Whaaaa...? * Mitsuo is still sleeping. ^^ * Erellisae positively leaps awake with a loud "Good morningggggg...!" ^_^ Sue shakes Mitsuo, but unable to rouse him, gives up and starts on breakfast... * Syri jumps in surprise and hides in Mitsuo's pack * Feray grunts loudly and hides her head under her pillow, waving Sue away as she passes by. * Jalanda is sleping quite lightly, and is easy to rouse. She carefully opens her lavender eyes to greet the day, her ears twitching to the sounds of the birds in the distance. (muffled) I don't suppose we can just sleep today and move tonight? * Dylan sips the remnants of a mug of cold tea. Ugh... * Jalanda looks once to Dylan, and the mug of cold tea near her. "A bright day. I... feel much progress can be achieved." * Mikari groans as she gets up, scratching her side. She yawns and stretches. * Erellisae zips outside, looking around. ^^ Sue shakes her head. "Sorry, Feray, gotta get up and at 'em.... Ooh, is Jalanda reading tea leaves? * Feray doesn't move from her bedroll but peeks out from under her pillow, yawning sleepily. * Dylan staggers into a vaguely upright position and starts to pack up his stuff Sue quickly cooks some porridge for everyone, then starts packing up vacated bedrolls, apparently wishing to be off in a hurry. * Jalanda begins to dust off her robes from the floor and arises. "No, but if that is your wish..." [Sue] Hey Mikari...how long a walk do you think we have to get over the mountains to the south? * Feray sighs softly to herself but quickly cheers up, rolling from her bedroll to pack it up.. * Erellisae runs back in, smiling, and starts to pack, humming happily to herself. She's a little more animated and happy than the last couple of mornings, it seems. * Mikari shakes her bushy head of hair and jumps up from her sleeping place, fully clothed like a good RPG character * Dill flaps around the campsite Puff! * Feray runs a nonchalant hand through one of her bangs and adjusts her clothing briefly before lashing her sword to her back. Long walk, eh? I thought ya wanted to use my plane. Plane? [Sue] ...! Oh! I forgot! Not that I mind walkin'... but if you're in a hurry, it's a bit of a waste'a time.... * Jalanda picks up the mug, and sips the small remainder, then proceeds to clean it and assist Sue with the morning chores. * Feray perks slightly. "Plane?" [Sue] I'd love to use the plane. It'd be a lot faster...gotta get moving, you see, the Summit is in less than a week. ^^; * Rion sits up, looking at Mikari flatly. * We trekked all the way out here when you had a plane? Faster, huh? ^^ * Erellisae smiles up at Dill as she packs, then blinks across to Mikari. "... what's a plane?" * Mikari shakes her head and smirks. "A little airbrained this morning, eh?" Sue sticks her tongue out at Mikari. How ever did you afford such a thing, Ms Mikari? *looks towards Rion* Can't land everywhere, ya know. I thought we wouldn't bother 'til ya were ready to cross them completely. [Sue] Right everyone, eat! Pack! Quickly! We gotta get back to town and get to Mikari's plane. I must admit, I have never flown in a plane. The sight of them playing among the clouds is certainly a testament to progress... I dunno.. I'd been ready a couple days back, if I'd known. * Feray grins widely. "This should be fun!" ^^ * Erellisae looks around, confused. "Uhm, what's a plane?" * Dylan picks up his stuff, and slings Mitsuo over his shoulder Flying machine. * Feray winks at Erel. "It's something that flies in the air." Like birds. It's a basic flying machine. They're usually pretty small. Hmm... It'll be a bit uvva crunch fittin' ya all in it at once... But we'll manage, heh! If not, Rion can ride on the wing, since he's such a great adventurer. ^_^ * Jalanda doesn't really seem to have anything to pack, as usual. It's just somehow all in her tiny bag. Sue blinks at Dylan, then grins. Are we ready? * Erellisae runs to the path leading off into the brush, hopping on her heels. "C'mon, c'mon!" ^^ [Sue] Everyone ready? Right, let's go! *She starts to head for the exit, but soon stops, hearing the crashing of footsteps in the brush...she mutters to herself. Just then, as a group of red, white, and gold clad temple devotees appear in the clearing, the doors behind them in the temple slam shut all at once. * Jalanda blinks several times. * Erellisae eeps, and scrambles around back to the party! ;_; Oh, bloody wonderful. Ah. Greetings. We're leaving. Enjoy the ruins * Erellisae then hides behind Dylan, peering out. * Rion draws out his trusty blade.. * The devotees are being led by an imposing man who looks familiar, the one who spoke to Erellisae. He has long, brown hair tied neatly back, with steel gray eyes. He nods politely to the adventurers as they approach. * Dylan raises an eyebrow * Mikari raises an eyebrow tiredly, in turn [Jiandir] Good morn. On your way, I see? Beautiful temple, isn't it? *He gestures some of his followers forward; they enter the recently vacated room behind the party.* I dunno, it's a bit of wreck actually You really should dust more often Yeah, nice an' dusty and mossy and stinky, just like I like 'em. * Jalanda looks at the devotees intently, a question upon her mind. "Yes, it truly is a home of the Spirits." And fungi. They love spirits. Anyway. I hope you enjoy yourself. There's a trench round the back if you need a slash. * Erellisae just hides and looks kind of guilty. --; [Jiandir] *to Dylan* I assure you, good sir, now that we have discovered the temple, it will be well cared for. * Mikari looks back at Erel and lowers her brow observingly * Rion stays his quick to jibe tongue.. * * Jalanda nods once. "Listen well, and you may yet be enlightened to the path you seek. Good day..." [Jiandir] Well, do not allow us to hold you up. Good fortune on your travels... *he then walks past them, with only a polite but meaningful nod to Erellisae, before he goes to oversee the prayers and the careful restoration of the opening chamber. * Erellisae steps out from behind Dylan. "I'm sorry... but I'll be travelling with my friends still." [Sue] (mutters) C'mon guys, best to be on our way... * Dylan pats Erel on the head, and heads off down the path [Jiandir] *raising an eyebrow* Really? I am terribly sorry to hear this...but I wish you good fortune, and I hope you will keep the Spirits and the Icarians always in your thoughts. * Erellisae nods, breathes a sigh of relief, and scoots off down the path after Dylan. * Dylan hums a foreign tune Sure she will. Right next to the thought of being gagged and kidnapped. C'mon folks... * Rion continues on his way, muttering under his breath.. * ..whacko.. * Mikari starts to step away with the rest. * Jalanda gives a final glance towards the devotees entering, and silently petitions the spirits for them. With another moment, she is gone down the path with the others... They soon leave the solemn conversation and puttering about of the temple devotees behind them, and not long after they begin their journey, the rooftops of Garist can be seen beyond the trees. ^_^ [Sue] Mikari, is your plane here in town? Eh, yeah, Zach's probably working on it. You'd think he owned it, heh. But he learns a lot, he says, and it keeps it runnin'... so I don't complain. Ms. Mikari, how ever did you afford to own a plane? Garist is filled with the usual morning hustle and bustle, which is to say, not much... * Erellisae nevertheless seems to find the town bustling, looking all around her at anything vaguely interesting. ^_^ * Feray quietly walks along, gazing about at the scenery before moving over behind Dylan, lightly tickling Mitsuo's nose. "Wake up. Don't make him carry you onto the plane!" There are a few stalls open for business, mostly selling tidbits of food and little trinkets. G...zzz...gah! * Mitsuo bolts awake! Simple as that. ^_- * Dylan puts Mitsuo down Welllll..... I guess ya don't know just how much these Icarian artifacts are worth. 'Sjust a matter of finding someone good enough to find 'em. Holy birdmen or not, the Icarians were collectively one smart cookie.... It's hard to get at their relics. * Erellisae starts to zip off down the road, then skids to a faint halt, sweatdrops, and heads back to the party. ^^; Morning Mitsuo. Enjoy your Beauty Sleep? Anyway, good morning. ^^ [Sue] Oh! Was anyone going to sell some of that treasure we found? Yeah, Mitsuo. And next time I get t'carry ya. And after that, it's Rion! You're a bit big, though, so I think we'll tie ya to a harness and drag ya. ^_^ * Feray chuckles and eyes Mitsuo for a moment before resting a hand on her hip and heading back to the front of the group.. * Jalanda nods a greeting to Mitsuo. That might be good. I believe Feray was carrying our spares? Indeed I am. [Sue] Well, there's a jewelry stall right there...might want to try selling them off now. Sell them and split the coins evenly? * Mikari whistles and waits for people to make decisions * Feray chuckles and shrugs, heading for the stall.. * Erellisae heads over to the jewelry stall, 'oo'ing and 'ah'ing at the pretty stuff. ^_^ * Mitsuo quietly walks behind the others. He seems a bit worn out, and thoughtful today. [Shopkeeper] *The old woman looks up as they approach* Kin I help yer, kids? * Jalanda steps lightly, nodding once in agreement to Dylan's suggestion. I'd like to sell these sleep and rage charms.. * Erellisae peers at the merchandise. "Pretty..." The shopkeeper's mouth goes round, like an O. [Shopkeeper] Oh my! What unusual pieces...don't get too many of these. *Holds out her hand to take a look at the charms* * Feray raises an eyebrow and gives the charms to the shopkeeper. * Jalanda glances at the assortment of trinkets over by Erellisae. "I know several shops in Zil that you might enjoy seeing sometime, if adventure takes us there." [Shopkeeper] Hmmmm. Looks like an ordinary couple of charms...but...unusual, the markings. They look very old. [Shopkeeper] I can give you....say, 70 each? Pfft.. 80 please, ma'am. We're not that naive. Yeah, help feed the starving girl! * Feray points at Erel. * Dylan points at Rion * Erellisae blinks, and sweatdrops. ^^; [Shopkeeper] *Shakes her head* Regardless of what they's worth, I kin't give ye no more. Ain't rich meself, ye know. * Mitsuo rolls his eyes and chuckles. ^^; Well.. I know the markup on these things.. and if you can't come just that little bit further, there're bigger folks in bigger cities, sorry to say.. 75? [Shopkeeper] Hmmm. How's 74 grab ya? That's fair enough. Yeah, 74 each'll do. * Jalanda titls her head slightly, listening to the haggling. She feels a small twinge of homesickness at that. [Shopkeeper] Best I kin do. Deal? Deal. The shopkeeper takes the charms and hands Feray 148 G. [Shopkeeper] Nice doin' business with yer! * Feray nods slightly and turns to the group, grinning in amusement. "Nothing can stand in the way of Rion and Feray...master bargain drivers!" * Rion folds his arms, nodding at Feray satisfactorily and grinning. * perhaps you require a greater challenge someday... 8slight grin* [Sue] Right Mikari...ready to lead the way? Ha! I scoff in the face of challenges! ^^ Yes.. now.. I make it to be.. 21 each? * Feray idly hands out the shares of the money. * Mikari steps out of the doorway and gives her the thumbs up. "ready 'n' waitin'." [Sue] Sounds good, Dylan, if you're not counting me. Don't need it. * Dylan grins I thought as much You can have the spare coin, maybe a new ribbon for puffuy Sue heads after Mikari, pulling the others along with her in one long line, like a snake. ^_^ * Dylan follows stoically. * Erellisae mutters as they walk off. No breasts you see. * Jalanda pats Erel's head lightly with her left hand. "Starving for adventure, perhaps.... soon you will have your fill." * Rion looks at Dylan. * Who's a girl now? Sue snickers. After a short walk, they follow Mikari to where she stops, outside a large shed... Nice try. ^_- I've got enough for my own spirits, thanks. Well.. I suppose if you let everyone and anyone fly it, you wouldn't have a plane by now. But I'm not just anyone, right? So I can fly it? "I'm sure Mikari knows what's best in this case. We are in her debt, after all..." * Feray laughs at Rion. ^_- I was only kidding about me flying it anyway... I'd probably smush us into paste against a mountain. ^^; * Dylan turns to Dill * Erellisae eeps. "Uhm... is this... safe, then?" ^^;; Now, Dill. Stay In My Pack. I'm sorry, but I don't want to lose you halfway across the mountains.. * Mikari pulls open the large door, revealing for the first time Mikari's biplane...a tan colored dual-engine aircraft with fancy angular designs on the wings and the engines in blue, brown, and yellow. On the side is written in large letters: "Horizon's End". A young man is seen tinkering around on the left engine... Sure, it's safe... ^^; * Erellisae blinks at the plane, walking up to it to peer around it. Sue raises a very interested eyebrow at the sight of the young man... Heyas! You Mikari's husband? >> Dylan's odd greeting causes the young man to drop his wrench in sheer startlement and almost fall off of the wing as he fumbles clutzily. * Jalanda stays in her place, taking in the sight of the plane with a careful eye. "Hmm." Well. It got his attention O_o NO, he's not! Geez! Sue giggles and mutters under her breath. [Sue] --They're so cute when they're clutzy...-- * Feray raises an eyebrow in amusement. What's this I sense? Hidden feelings? Sue raises an eyebrow at Rion. [Sue] Eh? That's it, weird out the mechanic so he can get revenge by unscrewing the nuts that hold the plane together. ^^; >> The young man gets back his grip, avoiding a plummet to the ground... but somehow looks just as silly as he climbs back up on the wing, then waves hesitantly. "Umm... hello. More of Mikari's patrons, I presume...?" ^^; [Sue] Maybe we should get INTO that plane before it falls apart...? * Jalanda glances to Rion. "It would not be out of the question. .. but I am more concerned with what i see for this trip." Pfft. He's my pilot. If ya want romance look somewhere else. Sue grins at Zach. She said she'd take us over the mountains to the south...? * Feray chuckles softly at Sue and Zach. * Erellisae is hopping up and down next to the plane, trying to look into the plane's seats and failing miserably due to small stature. ^^;; * Feray wanders up to Erel and grabs her by the hips, lifting her up to see the seats. Here. ^^; You know, you should drink more milk. It helps bones grow. Sue leans over and mutters to Mikari. [Sue] --Tell me...IS he looking for romance?-- Gyac--oh. So, where do fit? * Erellisae, thanks to Feray's hoist, grabs the plane and scrambles into the pilot seat. ^_^ Cool... :D Just don't hit any buttons or pull any levers. ;) >> Sue gets a good look at the seats by standing on the wing. It looks like it comfortably holds 6 people, in three rows. It'll hold them all, though. Uncomfortably. Hey hey!! No flyin' lessons today! * Dylan sighs. Sue clambers into the plane and waits for the others, frowning at the cramped conditions but eager to fly. * Erellisae nods at Feray, but looks extremely tempted to prod things or pull big tempting levers. ^^;; I'm guessing I'm stuck with someone on my lap? * Dylan shrugs [Sue] Y'know, in the military they call these things kites... Hold down the other wing of the plane, would you Feray? Sure thing. * Feray wanders around and reaches up, grabbing the other wing. * Dylan clambers up and into the plane, with much muttering.. * Mikari rushes up, swinging on the wing like a circus performer to get her feet on top of it. She slides past Zach and up to Erel, tapping her fingers on the side of the pilot's seat. * Dill flaps up and into Dylan's pack. * Feray 's muscles make themselves visible once more with the strain of Dylan boarding.. * Jalanda bows slightly to Zachary. "You are the pilot? I suggest great care be taken in your planning for this trip, as I forsee it being longer than expected." * Feray then releases the wing, rubbing her tattooed arm... "There we go." * Erellisae sweatdrops at Mikari, stopping the string of flying noises and poking about she's doing. ^^; "Um... hi?" ^^; Lemme guess: sparkly girl gets a front seat this time around? But I'm 'fraid it can't be that one. * Feray wanders around to the loading zone and eyes the cramped conditions. Longer?... Oh, great... more of Mikari's little "holdups", I suppose?... *sighs a little* * Dylan appears to be starting to doze off * Erellisae 's ears droop. "Aw... okay." She scrambles out and sits on one of the front passenger seats, peering over the side. * Jalanda doesn't really respond to that directly, but climbs aboard, attempting to find a position with a minimum of fuss to everyoen else. Well, alright 'en... Zach, we ready to take off? Looks like this is'n antsy bunch. Best get off the ground before they start breakin' things. * Feray hmms as the seats get taken up...she shrugs a little and hops onto assorted laps, stretching out over several of them with a chesire grin. "Ahhh...comfortable." * Mitsuo sits in the back. He's still very quiet today. * Rion flings himself in the plane, trying to find a place to sit. * ....That's one way to conserve space. * Erellisae blinks, looking back over the seat. "Mits... you okay?" :/ Sue blinks as Feray sticks her feet in her face. O_o Yeah, I wasn't doing anything vital at the time... so I guess we can go... You all ready, folks? * Dylan looks down at Feray * Mitsuo blinks a bit, "Oh...I'm fine." * Jalanda edges into the side as Rion half crashes into her spot. ^^ You okay there? [Sue] I'M all set, flyboy. * Erellisae looks unconvinced, but turns around to look out the plane again. * Mitsuo shakes his head slightly, and looks out the window himself. * Feray uncurls herself and instead sits on Dylan's lap. "Sorry. I'm not really going to stay like that." ^^; Sue snickers at Feray. [Sue] Not a problem. Do be a bit more careful, Rion... it... is rather cramped. Great! Jump on in, Zachy. You're here, so I'm gonna relax this time. *she leaps over a couple people to take the middle front seat. ^_^* * Dylan shrugs. Whatever. Do be careful what you hold onto though. * Rion wiggles into place, trying to get comfortable. * * Feray looks coyly over her shoulder at Dylan, waggling her eyebrows and saying playfully. "Like you would mind!" * Feray breaks into a grin and crosses her arms over her chest. ^^ We *are* in public. * Mitsuo glances at the floor of the plane. * Feray goes serious and reaches out to tap Mitsuo's nose. "I know, I often wonder what kinda gunk is stuck down there too." Probably best we never know. ^_- * Mitsuo sneezes, "Gah...Sorry sorry..." * Jalanda looks over at Dylan & Feray briefly... before she pulls up her hood tightly over her head, and makes sure her hair is quite pinned down. * Feray jerks her hand away as Mitsuo sneezes and blinks. ^^; * Feray pauses and reaches into her pack, offering Mitsuo a scrap of cloth to blow his nose or something with. ^^; * Mitsuo blushes slightly, but shakes his head, "Sorry...I always sneeze when somene does that. I'll be okay. ^^" * Erellisae blinks at Jalanda pinning down her hair... and looks at her mass of unruly hair. "Um... Jalanda... am I gonna be okay?" ^^; . o O (Not only can't I see over the side, I can't even sketch what I CAN see.. but I do have a cute woman on my lap.. ) Ah, okay. I'll take that to mind. ^^; Okay... are we ready for takeoff? I think you'd better all make sure you're well inside the buckets... We don't want anyone falling out, so sitting on laps isn't a good idea, even though the alternative is cramped... Sue looks anxious. [Sue] We ready to take off? C'mon! I wanna get in the air! :D * Feray tugs the scrap of cloth back and grins. "Yeah! Let's get this thing going!" * Dylan puts arms across Feray's torso She won't fall out. * Mitsuo blinks at Dylan and Feray. * Dylan shrugs * Feray blinks a little and looks amused, but her eyes are guarded. "Hey now. Not on the first date." * Jalanda turns her head slightly, and reaches inside her sleeve, producing a hairclip inlaid with several precious stones. "You may use this if you wish." . o O ( Hmm...do I smell foreplay? ^_- ) You can swap places with Feray if you want, Mitsuo. Sue looks about to tell Feray and Dylan to behave, but then decides they're big kids and can look after themselves. ^_^ . o O (No he bloody can't ) ...Well, I guess you're right. That'll do. Alright, ready for takeoff. ^_^ Guh-! O_o What? Yeah, Mitsuo. ^_- I get twitchy around other people. ;) * Erellisae sweatdrops. Aw, he knows I'm just joking. ^^; No harm done, right? >> The plane begins to move through the open doors of the hangar, as Zach begins to taxi the Horizon's End onto the makeshift road outside. * Mitsuo laughs a little, " 'Course" * Feray gazes at Mitsuo a moment before blinking and grinning as the plane begins to move! * Erellisae blinkblinks, then peers over the side, noticing they're moving. :D . o O ( ...Here we go... ) * Jalanda retracts the hand, the bauble vanishing into the depths again. "I'm sure your hair will still be upon your head when you arrive, dear Erellisae. Hold on tight." Everyone please keep your hands and arms inside the biplane. Bleh. Flying. A moment later, a rush of air, and the plane is speeding out of the open door of the hangar. In a few moments, they are airborne, rising above the swamps and jungles surrounding Garist. Whoa...! This is wild! O_o Sue peers over Zach's shoulder as they fly. ^_^ * Jalanda widens her eyes a bit as the first gust of air passes them. * Erellisae gasps, then yaaaaaaaays! :D Wind rushes past as they turn around, then head south toward the mountains. It's a bright sunny day, perfect for flying. ^_^ * Feray just grins, enjoying the sensation of flying. * Dylan squints at the light.. Yep, sure beats walkin'. Especially when I don't have to pilot the thing. *whacks Zach lightly upside the head* ^_^ * Dylan looks rather sour Quite an extraordinary experiance... So, what's our in flight meal? * Erellisae looks around excitedly, peering down at the landscape, her hair flinging all over. Didn't say anything about me hitting him though. ^_- A flock of brightly colored birds fly past as they begin to pass over the barely white-tipped peaks. Summer is coming to the mountains as well, with only a tiny bit of the winter snows left at their tops. Heh, Jal....if you can find me a glass of water, I'll show you something even more cool... Hmm. Well, get a glass. I'm really not that mean. Really. ^_- Once they clear the mountain peaks and start flying over the other side, they suddenly see the sprawling buildings and huge, sparkling white stone towers ahead of a huge city, sitting on the edge of a sparkling bay in the ocean. Sandy beaches line the coast of the Narrow Sea, and a few white puffy clouds float lazily by. Whoa... * Erellisae looks out across the land, eyes wide and looking all around. ^^ Hmm. What's ahead ? 's pretty... :D [Sue] There you go....Ardycee, capital of Messina! Headquarters of the Joule Foundation government and the Garlyle Forces military. Not to mention the Big Guava of the world. ^_^ [Sue] Are we landing outside the city, Zach, Mikari? ...Big Guava... always hated that nickname. 'Though it is plenty fruity at times. * Jalanda peers at the scenery, taking it in at her pace. "It is very impressive, even from this distance. One can almost feel the dominating air from it." Yeah, a ways. No place to land if we get too close. * Feray is silent, gazing at the scenery contemplatively. ...At least, nowhere that wouldn't get us a few dozen Garlyles surroundin' the plane as we get out. Good, I'll get to stretch my legs. [Sue] I wouldn't worry THAT much. The military's become a lot more relaxed in recent years. The plane circles, looking for a good place to land, as they draw closer to the city... Well, yeah. But it's funny; they don't like like me usin' their airstrip without warnin'. Go figure. ^_- Sue chuckles. =P * Erellisae looks off to the side, then behind them, trying to see where they started. * Mitsuo snickers. Zach seems to have chosen an empty field as his landing spot. ^^ The plane drops in altitude as he brings it in for a landing... * Erellisae blinks, then looks around. "Aww... it's over already...?" * Jalanda nods slightly to Sue. "No doubt due to the recent general, Anzen Jai... he is a very capable man. It is certainly not the Garlyle of the past." * Rion 's head tilts up, blinking and squinting a bit.. * ..we there? Just about. Sue nods. [Sue] Not to mention that a lack of outside threats tends to relax the military a bit, as well. Mullen himself has been advocating a less aggressive stance toward foreign policy. * Rion stretches and yawns.. * The plane continues to drop, finally touching down and bumping and jolting to a stop after rushing through the field a little ways. They skid to a stop just before hitting a small goat shed at the end of the field. O_o * Erellisae aaaaacks, shielding her head and ducking down. ^^; * Mitsuo does likewise! Perfectly parked. ^_^ * Dylan moves his arms away from Feray once the plane has stopped * Jalanda braces herself for touchdown, already feeling the sensation of dropping, and then quietly mutters something and shieds her face from the obstacle. There are about five inches between the nose of the plane and the shed. O_o Sue looks at Zach with new admiration. Five inches?... You're gettin' a little rusty, Zach. "Zach used to do stunt flyin' back when people'd pay to see it. We'd better book passage on a ship...but while we're here, Ardycee has some of the best shopping in the western continents, and there's a bunch of cool stuff I'd like to show you, too... As they near it, they can see the tall towers of the Joule Palace, the Garlyle Building, the Old Palace, the Joule Museum, and the Spirits' Temple... * Rion moseys along. * * Erellisae peers around.
