Three days have passed, and the little company is getting heartily sick and tired of being on a boat. They have traveled north and west, out into the middle of the Narrow Sea. Now, those looking over the waters can see land on the horizon... * Dylan snores loudly * Erellisae is slumped down, ears drooping. She looks /bored/. Oh ho! Land in sight ^_^ * Feray is up on deck, leaning out over the frontmost rail with her arms open wide. "I'm the queen of the world!" * Nathan applauds ^_^ Sue leans on the railing, watching the sea, her mind elsewhere. At Nathan's shout, she looks around, blinking. [Sue] Are we there? * Boat_Captain is driving the boat with a stupid grin on his face. * Nathan points, "Over there." :) * Dill flaps about with a dragonfly charm between its ears. * Mitsuo leans over one of the sides of the ship, watching the land slowly creep up. Oh and hey, there's land too! Indeed :) Puffy makes a sleepy, slightly irritated noise and goes back to sleep in the afternoon sunshine. ^^ * Feray leans over the rail slightly and looks into the water. ^^ * Jalanda is sitting crosslegged upon a pillow, out in the open deck. She appears to be concentrating heavily. * Erellisae blinkblinks, then rushes to the side of the boat, scrabbling a little to prevent falling over the side. o_O; "Land?! Where!" :D Arrr...get ready to drop anchor! [Sue] I guess we're almost there! Better get packed up, everyone...we'll probably land before dinnertime. ^^ * Dill flaps over to Jalanda. Puff! * Syri stumbles around belowdecks, swaying around and moving to a corner to be carro-seasick Already done ^_^ * Nathan leans on the railing and watches the land approach * Rion cracks his knuckles and grins.. * Don't have much to pack! ^^ I can't wait to get off the boat... * Jalanda opens her eyes slowly, as if coming back from somewhere distant. "Yes, I know.... Chandrinos approaches." * Boat_Captain looks at Mitsuo. "What, you don't like me boat?" * Erellisae is running in circles around the boat, more than a little eager to get off. ^^; Simmer down Erel, we'll be there soon enough :) * Dill crawls into Jal's hood, sitting quietly next to her. Sue disappears belowdecks, returning a short while later with her things, then prods Puffy with a toe. [Sue] C'mon sleepyhead, get up! :D [Puffy] Puuuuuuuf. -_- * Jalanda smiles ever so briefly at the puffy that has apparently made the quite the nest in her apparel. * Erellisae fidgets, trying to remain calm. ^^; Ah! ...I mean...no! And ah...ah... ^^; * Feray breathes deeply.. ^^ * Syri kwuus softly and stumbles onto deck, kwuuing softly and flopping over at Mitsuo's feet Mitsuo prefers grass to wooden planks. ;) * Feray turns and grins at Mitsuo. Land ho for me! ^^;; * Mikari is sleeping precariously on the bow, taking in the suns rays * Jalanda stands up slowly, stretching once, and puts the pillow into her bag with a quick motion. * Boat_Captain laughs. Anyone want to swim to shore? ^_- * Feray eyes Nathan in amusement. "I think I could take you, sailor boy!>> Oh really? ^_- * Mitsuo raises his eyebrow. ^_- Yep! * Erellisae blinks, and rushes up to Mikari, hopping on her heels. "MIKARI! WAKE UP! What'cha wanna bet? * Dylan is currently avoiding any travel sickness by prolonged unconciousness. Let's mack it just interesting enough. Just 1 gold * Syri is ignored and quietly crawls up Mitsuo's leg into his pants. * Feray rests a hand on her hip, joy at a challenge brightening her eyes. "Alright. You're on!" * Jalanda looks in her direction, intoning softly. "I thought for a moment I felt something regarding Justin and Feena, but it was fleeting at best. I am worried they have been seperated." * Mikari jolts up to her feet, standing bolt upright with her toes on the tip of the bow! * Nathan sticks a single gold in his mouth and bites down on it * Mitsuo erks, his face looking rather twisted o_o Hey! Don't do that, kiddo!! Sue sniggers. [Sue] Umm...Mits, you okay? * Nathan hops up on the rail, "Well then, ready?" ^_^ * Feray hops up as well! * Syri crawls up, poking his head out of the waistband of Mitsuo's pants. "Kwuuuu." Born ready. ^_- * Erellisae sweatdrops. "Uhm, sorry. ^^; But... LAND!" :D * Boat_Captain gets slightly serious since he has to pilot the boat rather carefully now so it doesn't crash. Sue blinks at Jalanda, then frowns. [Sue] That is worrying...that's all you felt, huh? Since I challenged, you start us off :) I...am....fine! ^^; Grggh! *Grabs Syri from out of his pants* Syri! Puffy opens one eye curiously, then gets up and flops over to Syri. [Puffy] Pu-puff! Yeaaaaaaahhhhhaaahhaaa--*SPLASH* * Mikari jumps onto the deck, yawning quietly and looking around at the others. * Erellisae watches the land, curious. ^^ * Syri blinks at Puffy. "Kwuuu?" * Mikari blinks as Nathan jumps ship * Boat_Captain watches Nathan jump overboard. "I remember when I was like that long ago.." Puffy flaps happily and admirably at Syri, gesturing with a wing to Mitsuo. * Mikari scratches her head. "Can't wait, eh..." Sue nods to Jalanda. "I will try again in a short while." * Feray moves quickly through the water, thinner than Nathan but not as experienced. ^^ * Nathan appears quite able in the water, despite his size The race between Feray and Nathan is close, very close...they are almost at the docks, nose to nose. * Erellisae watches the race, wondering just why they're swimming ashore when there's this nice boat thing. o_O * Dill looks around, and then hops out of Jalanda's hood. Those in a position to notice, might see something glinting where it had rested * Mitsuo looks on, amused, "...I dunno who to cheer for. ^^;" Feray pulls ahead, but suddenly at the last moment, Nathan surges forward in the water to win! * Syri chews on Mitsuo's hair a little. "Kwuu. Kwuuu! Kwukwuukwukwuuu." * Mitsuo laughs, "Who do you want to see win, Syri?" * Nathan sputters, and pops out of the water with a victory cry! ^_^ Oh...looks like we got a winner already. ^_- Puffy follows Syri around quietly, blinking sleepily. Heh... impressive. * Erellisae blinks, and scratches her head. "But... why not wait on the boat?" ^^; * Jalanda reaches up to touch the spot, finegring a Dragonfly Charm. "Hmm..." * Feray scowls and bobs in the water, slicking her hair back with one hand. "Aw, c'mon! You must've cheated somehow!" Rematch! ^_- * Boat_Captain docks the boat moments later after Nathan and Feray finish. * Nathan hoists himself out of the water and offers Feray and assist out * Feray chuckles and takes Nathan's hand, water rolling off her in interesting rivulets. ^_^ Just experience and skill. If I taught you to swim like I do, you'd have left me in the dust :) Sue shoulders her pack. We there? * Erellisae grabs her stuff, and hops off the boat, wobbling a little from her land legs but happy to be in an area where she can actually run around. :D * Boat_Captain holds the spare gold in the air with powa. * Jalanda looks very thoughtful, running a fine finger over the item. She places it discretely in her hair near where Dill rested before. Are you going to make me work for that now? ^_- * Mitsuo walks off the boat, whistling. ^_^ * Syri curls up on Mitsuo's head, looking like a bad toupee with a lightbulb in it. Nah. You can have it. ;) I didn't need new boots anyways. ^_- * Nathan accepts his victory gold * Erellisae immediately gives everyone slight deja vu by speeding off a little ways to the middle of the docks, gazing around at everything new and shiny raptly. * Dylan looks about blearly... * Feray heads for the group, squeezing water from her hair. ^^ You can get it back next time ^_- * Jalanda recalls her surroundings, and respectfully bows to the boatman. "Thank you for the use of your vessel. Spirits bless you." Sure sure. ;) * Nathan shakes himself off a bit, and goes to rejoin the group Hmm? They have landed on the largest island in the archipelago, a pleasantly warm place with nearly-tropical plants, the trees bending their branches lazily in the warm breeze, the sun bright but not harsh. ^^ So, did everyone make it? :) Wow...this reminds me of home, almost... * Feray waggles her leg, water dribbling out of her boot. ^^ Ahaa~! Now this's my kinda island!... [Sue] Looks like it! *Walking down the gangplank and breathing in the sweet-smelling air.* Very nice. ^_- Yeah, it's kinda nice. I'll second that, Mitsyboy. ^_~ * Erellisae runs from stall to person, peering, prodding, and generally being a little sugar-powered nuisance. "Wow...! Now this isn't Merrill!" :D Yee all did good. Hot.. humid.. bleh. So, where to? * Feray leaves her shirt on, uh, for obvious reasons. "Good question." * Jalanda steps off into the port, looking upwards at the canopy and the sun. * Rion takes a deep breath.. savoring the humidity.. * The marketplace near the docks is filled with little stalls and small crowds. There are just as many people out and about as in Ardycee, but the atmosphere is just generally a bit more relaxed and calm. Latitude? Takes a lot more'n latitude to make it home. But it's gettin' there. Nice'n temperate. What's the water like, Ms. Feray? A bit hot for my liking Still, shopkeepers cry their wares, waving products under Erellisae's nose as she runs about. Nice, Dylan...a bit chilly but otherwise pretty good. ^_- I prefer a more temperate environ The atmosphere is quite a welcome change. [Sue] But warm enough to be almost tropical. ^^ Yes, I like Chandrinos too. Gah.. I might have to have a dip later.... sooo hot.. * Mitsuo smiles a bit more, "Definetely like home..." * Feray ties her hair back loosely with some string from her pack. ^^ [Sue] Well, anyway! We'd better find ourselves and inn and discuss our plans from here on. The Summit starts tomorrow, and you guys are going to have to find passage to the other side of the Narrow Sea... Will you be alright, Dylan? * Mikari lightly darts out onto land. It must be usnettling, coming from a decidedly colder homeland. I'll survive.. So, if we were an inn, where would we be? Probably near the ocean for the view. ^^ Listen to the beach boy. ;) Zil wasn't as bad, the dry air took the sweat from my bones fast enough * Feray nods towards Mitsuo and grins. [Sue] Um, probably in the market district, on the end where the inns are, Nathan. ^^; * Nathan laughs Beach boy? ^_- Hah. Let's go find it then ^_^ * Jalanda nods. "True." * Erellisae speeds up to the group, bouncing on her feet. "This place is great! There's so much stuff to see and it's all really pretty!" She speeds off again, happy to be off the boat. ^^; .. O_o We need to tie her onto one of us. ^^; [Sue] Right! *Mischievous grin* I have just the inn in mind, too... *Leads the way, her stride quick and eager* Er. Better not lose track of her. ^^;; That won't work. We'd end up as a flag flapping in the breeze ^_- * Mikari runs off to follow Erellisae and keep her out of trouble Heh! * Dylan follows Sue, keeping to the shade * Syri kwuus happily and hops into Mitsuo's pack as soon as he realizes he's off the boat. * Feray shakes her head and follows Sue.. ^^ * Nathan follows the group, grinning ^_^ * Jalanda slowly begins to pad after Erellisae, though keeping Sue in sight all the same. * Mitsuo keeps up with everyone, glancing at the town along the way. After a few twists and turns down the tree-lined streets, they come to a road lined with inns and taverns. Sue heads straight up toward the center of town, where the tallest inn of them all stands at the street's end, a four-story affair with elegant architecture. * Erellisae blinks, noticing during her run the group is moving off. "Hey..! Wait for me!" :/ She catches them up, slowing her pace... a little. ^^; * Feray whistles lowly, impressed. ^^ Wow. Nice. I guess big buildings are in ^_- An awful pun, Nathan. ...That is not like home, though. O_o I wonder what kind of hunting you can get around here.. * Mikari slows down as Erel turns around, following her again, back to the others. Wow.. :D * Nathan grins a lot at Dylan ^_^ Hmm... it is much like the great hotel in Zil. I wonder if they offer massages as well. * Feray perks. "Massages?" Messages? Whawhosis? Mmm, my favorite part of town. Liqcour and beds. A bit bigger 'n' necessary though. As they enter the lobby of the inn, a cool breeze wafts over them. Ushering the party in, Sue shuts the door behind them all and goes up to the desk, smiling at the innkeeper. "Two rooms, please! Beds for four men and five women." ^^ Geez... * Jalanda nods briefly, smiling slightly. "Alqada are renowned for their abilities as massueses, because of their paws effect to relax the muscles more than simple hands." I'm travelling with.. with.. with people who don't know what massages are? * Feray looks around the inside of the Inn and grins at the keeper. "And, uh, do you people give...massages?" ^^ After shelling out a rather large sum of money, Sue grins and leads the others upstairs after the innkeeper. [Sue] Who's up for a bath first? Never had one myself If they offer massages, to heck with a bath! ^^ I dunno if I want a random stranger rubbing me. ^^; I didn't have a chance when in Zil to partake of one.. I was short on money. The innkeeper turns around and smiles pleasantly at Feray. "Of course. First floor, second door on the left. Ask for Frijiro for the best massages." Ooohhh.. Thanks ;) Hey, 'suo...could be fun. So.. what to do.. what to do.. * Mitsuo goes upstairs to drop off his stuff, before running off to the baths to wipe off the sea salt and grime accumulated with three days of sea travel. * Jalanda thanks the innkeeper, and then follwos Sue upstairs. * Nathan opens the door to one of the rooms and claims a spot [Sue] Not up for a bath or a massage, Rion? ^^ You could order us dinner instead, if you wanted. Sue takes Feray's stuff and continues on up to their rooms. ^^ * Erellisae nips past people to drop her stuff, then goes to poke about town before stopping abruptly, grabbing a small black-red book from her pack, and sitting on her bed, writing. * Nathan digs into his pack for some fresh clothes, hanging up his wet ones after wringing them out Well.. I might do the bath and massage thing later, or somethin', when there's no one else around to bother me 'n stuff.. Nathan and Erellisae find that the beds are VERY soft and fluffy. ^^ as for the food though.. hmm.. Well, I wouldn't do it with every'n around t'watch. :P No free shows 'ere! [Sue] Kay then, I'll see you later! *Heads into the girl's room to grab her towel from her pack* * Nathan flops out on a bed after a good regiment of stretching Hey Dylan, you about? Sue is off to the baths. Puffy curls up on the bed in a patch of sunlight and starts to snore. ^^ * Jalanda tests the bed with her hand, face showing satisfaction. She sits on the side of it, resting her weary self. * Rion sighs, before resuming his sure grin and heading out the door to go explore the town more.. * * Mikari gets kinda bugged by the comment and heads off for a quick bath as well to show she isn't inconsiderate. * Syri crawls out of Mitsuo's pack, wandering around a little and peeking into the Girls' room Hey Mitsy, you got a fresh Carro on your hands! ;) * Dylan soaks in the bath, stuck between getting clean, and not lobstering * Syri peeks his head up and looks at Mikari. "Kwu?" * Erellisae scribble/writes in her diary, before slowing her pen, seemingly drawing. She bites her lip in concentration. Gettin' a taste for taller women, eh Syri? ^_- * Mitsuo sinks down into one of the baths, taking off his glasses and closing his eyes, looking VERY relaxed. ^^; * Nathan gets curious, and goes to see the front desk about one of those massage things * Mikari shuts the door of the Girl's room, laughing at Syri's attempt to get in * Syri blinks and kwuus softly. Nathan is directed to the massage room, where a handful of young men and women are providing patrons with massages. ^^ .o( It is a shame... perhaps another time... ) * Syri decides to try to headbutt the door! * Erellisae looks up from her drawing. "Mikariii... let him in..!" ;_; * Nathan figures he'll let the workers handle the situation, and does as he's instructed * Jalanda heads off to the baths, taking great care to find on that is very secluded if she can. Soon, Nathan is stretched out on a padded table, receiving a pleasant massage and covered with warm, soothing towels, sipping bottled water. ^^ Hmm...methinks I see the allure ^_^ Errr...? Uh... Okay. ^^; * Mikari cracks the door, letting the naive Carro in :P * Dylan drags himself out of the bath, briskly drying himself off. He then goes to get changed into light and airy clothing. * Syri keeps ramming the door, blasting through as Mikari opens it, instead klonking his head on the bed Puffy's lying on, falling over with a *thwump*. "Kwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...." @_@ Each massage table is in the same room, but curtains hang from the ceiling, partitioning it off into private sections. ^^ A little bowl of fruits and a bowl of ice-chilled drinks sits on a small table in each. Syri...! ...uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu... * Feray is stretched out on her own table, letting her tensed muscles get rubbed into relaxation, her eyes closed and mind wandering. * Erellisae picks up the lil' carro and hugs it. [Puffy] Puuuuufff...? * Mitsuo is still down in the baths, and apparently has dozed off. ^^; Mmm...Relaxing water... * Syri twitches softly as Erel hugs him. "...uuuuuuuuuuuuu...." * Nathan dozes as he's worked over Feray's masseuse chatters pleasantly about nothing in particular as he rubs her down. * Feray murmurs softly. "Ooh...a little lower. I pulled something in my lower back..." * Nathan 's ears perk a bit as he hears a familiar voice, and grins a bit ^_^ * Mikari puts her sparse assortment of stuff away and heads off to the baths. About an hour later, Sue re-enters the girl's room, rubbing her hair with a towel and grinning relaxedly. [Sue] I am FAMISHED! Girl, you're quick... didn't take any time to enjoy it?... She sits down on a bed, leaving the door open and continuing to dry her hair. [Sue] Where are the others? They should be back soon for dinner... * Jalanda returns to the room in a few moments, a towel around her hair in a turban-style. [Sue] I took an hour. I usually get out when I start to get pruny. =P * Nathan thanks the workers for thier efforts, and gets back into his usual clothes in preparation for dinner * Mikari laughs in jest ^_~ * Feray leans herself against the doorframe shortly after Jal enters, having left before Nathan, a goofy grin on her face. "Hey girls. I had the cutest guy doing my massage..." * Erellisae is still on her bed, just putting her diary away. ^^ "I d'no... I stayed here." Sue sticks at tongue out at Feray. Er. Not much, I just had complete strangers work me over like a piece of bread dough. A rather unique experience ^_- Yeah, it can feel pretty good, I know. "Sorry.." ^^; Which probably means they're on their way here Yeah.. I learned they kinda do that now and again.. Hard to believe I'm travelling with these folks. Oh.. dinner.. hmm... * Mitsuo heads for the food! ^^ Sue enters the dining room, which is a wide room with a low table and no chairs, but cushions instead. Huge windows let in the cool, evening breeze. ^^ * Jalanda takes this moment to readjust the towel about her head expertly into a formal turban. It actually looks very tasteful, considering it was just a normal towel before. * Nathan saunters after people ^_^ * Dylan steps out of the room, Dill frantically trying to balance on his shoulder Nice.. * Feray flings herself onto a cushion! ^^ * Dylan takes a looks around the room... Ooohhh yeah! I could learn to like this! ;) Interesting decour ^_^ * Nathan claims a seat ^_^ * Mitsuo sits down as well, "...Intresting. " [Sue] Chandrinan decor. ^^ *Takes a seat on a cushion* * Jalanda sits down carefully upon the cushion. "I wonder if this is the local culture. It is much like my home." * Dylan trys to sit down on a cushion, but falls most of the way... Omph! * Erellisae looks around, her ears drooping slightly. "I'm gonna be smaller than everyone..." :/ * Erellisae perks up, grins, and grabs one cushion, depositing it on top of another before sitting down. ^_^ A servant comes in behind them, a towel draped over her arm, and waits quietly in the doorway while they look at the menus laid out on the table. Don't take it so hard Erel. It just means you;ll have an easier time snaking through people making grabs for food ^_^ * Feray examines her menu, glancing up at Dylan. "You alright?" ^^ * Dill grabs Dylan's menu in it's mouth and flapps off with it. * Mitsuo looks at the menu as well, "Hmmm..." * Erellisae looks much happier from her double seat. :D I'm okay.. the seating is just a little low for me.. [Sue] Well, Jalanda, I suppose there are some similarities....Chandrinos has an interesting history and may have had ties to Zil Padon in ancient times. Well.. time for some great foreign cuisine.. what do we have tonight? Chilled Monkey Brain? Eyeball Soup? Snake Surprise? * Nathan grabs a menu and puruses it Aaahh... .....Rion! * Rion blinks. * ..What? Ugh... snakes. I hate snakes.... You left out the Bat Intestine. ^_- All the menu items have peculiar names. ^^ [Sue] Oooooh. ...And Monkey's gizzard. ^_- * Jalanda tries to interpret the menu. [Sue] They have tzatziki sauce and pita bread! :D Tat-saki? * Feray looks down at her menu, chuckling. Toozuki what sauce now? ...They're just too chewy. Especially raw. No one knows how t'cook 'em. Sue orders the said delicacy, as well as lamb and stuff olives. <.< >.> Well, as Dill seems to prefer that I take pot luck. One of everything, please. * Erellisae blinks, then turns to Sue. "Uhm... what would I like?" ^^; [Sue] Tzatziki sauce, Mitsuo. :D It's made from cucumber, yogurt, garlic, and mint. :D ....Mmm. That actually sounds good. I'll have what she's having. ^^ Hmm...what to pick, what to pick... * Jalanda looks rather indecisive. "Perhaps I will have it as well, if Sue recommends it." Y'know, that does sound pretty good... I'm just a little wary about "local delicacies." The servant in the corner approaches the table with a smile and begins to write down everyone's orders. * Feray looks thoughtful before ordering the roasted boar with wine marinated skin and fresh greens... [Sue] Everything here is pretty good....don't worry, Mikari, they don't serve monkey brains. ^_^ Yogurt? Ugh. I'd prefer something with body.. [Sue] =P It's GOOD. * Feray licks her lips. ^^ Eh, I wouldn't mind. ^_~ as long as it's properly cooked, anything is good with enough hot sauce. The servant finishes taking everyone's orders, then leaves, returning a few minutes later with a bottle of chilled spiced wine. [Servant] Your food will be ready shortly. ^^ Ooh.. * Nathan sets his menu aside She sets the wine and several crystal glasses out on the table, then leaves them in peace. * Dylan stretches * Feray reaches out to snag the bottle first ^^ So... any ideas on where to look for Justin and Feena? * Mitsuo looks relaxed, "Excellent atmosphere, if I do say so myself..." [Sue] Hmmmmm.....that's a good question. * Feray pours herself a glass of wine and waggles the bottle at Mitsuo. ^_- * Jalanda scrutinizes the crystalware... Bottom of that wine bottle maybe? ^_- * Mitsuo sweatdrops at Feray. ^_- * Erellisae thinks, then perks up. "Well... I guess we ask around for any places to adventure in. I mean, that's probably where they are." ^_^ * Mikari orders some Fried Umfahbeast with stewed Greeber Root. Today's Special. * Feray puts the bottle back onto the table and grins. "Sounds like a plan, sailor." [Sue] Let's review what we know. One- *Holds up a finger* They were last heard from just after leaving Chandrinos.... * Nathan pours himself some wine as well * Feray tunes into Sue, swaying the wine in her glass slightly.. [Sue] Two.... *holds up a second finger* They were supposed to report in from mid-Talachia, but never did. Perhaps we should ask around and get an idea of where they went and how they planned to get there? * Mikari motions for Nathan to pass the booze here thanks when he's done. ^^ [Sue] Three, they may have visited the temple ruins near Garist and seen the same carvings we did. [Sue] Good plan, Nathan... * Mitsuo nods. * Jalanda contineus looking at the glass, or more specifically, more like into it... ... so... we look for some more old ruins on the way to Talachia? ...an expedition... a great achievement...? Hmm. As Jalanda stares, she starts to gain a slight feeling of uneasiness...but only very slight. * Nathan sips at the wine as he thinks [Sue] *taking a sip of wine* Good idea, Erellisae! That's a way to start. * Feray chuckles and takes a swig of her wine.. ^^ Mmm.. This is good. ^^ [Sue] Justin and Feena are drawn to ruins like magnets, you know. =P Kinda like me. Only they're looking for adventure more than artifacts. Maybe the local adventurer's society knows of some good candidates? So, we ask around, we explore, we hope. Sounds like a plan... What's wrong? * Jalanda breaks her stare at the glass, placing her hands upon the table. "It is nothing... I just have a very bad premonition." "That's just Rion getting drunk again." :D A bad...premo...Anything specific? * Jalanda tries to look cheerier, not wanting to ruin the happy mood. * Feray shrugs and reaches out to grab the wine bottle, pouring herself another drink. Hey now, chickie-boo, I haven't even started on that stuff yet. [Sue] *Grins cheerfully* That's my Jalanda- always our little ray of sunshine! No, do not worry about it. I'm sure it's nothing too bad...we'll handle it! But, I'd rather be dead'n famous, so I guess it'sa fair trade. The servant brings their meals, hot and steaming, and bows out again... * Mitsuo blinks a few times, then tries to smile, "All right." Sue digs in! :D * Erellisae sticks her tongue out at Rion. "Bet you will." :D * Mitsuo digs in as well, "Mmm...This is good..." * Feray puts the bottle down and digs into her meal, sipping on her second glass of wine.. "Oh jeez...this is wondeful..." Careful there, Sue. ^_- We don't wanna have to carry you to your room ;) * Jalanda turns her mind to thoughts of food for now, tearing into the food with quite an appetite... of course her manners aren't as desperate as her stomach. * Feray swishes the wine around her in her mouth thoughtfully before swallowing. "I should ask how they make this. Mom would go nuts over it." * Nathan puts the wine aside and digs into his food with little fanfare * Dill flaps about, stealing bits and bobs of food Sue gestures with her glass. [Sue] Anyway! You guys can spend the day deciding where to go next and how to get there...you'll probably have to book passage on another boat. What's up, big guy? * Feray doesn't respond to Erel. * Dylan checks Nathan's breathing and pulse Sue doesn't react like Feray...in fact, she doesn't react at all. =P Her breathing can barely be heard. * Jalanda checks Sue & Feray over for vital signs... * Mitsuo tries to stand up out of bed, and sorta flops over, "Gnnnngth this sucks!" * Dill is lying still near Dylan's bed.. * Erellisae looks up at Jalanda, looking more than a little worried. "I'll... I'll go see if the others are okay..." :/ * Nathan has a shallow pulse and breathing cycle Yes... I'll see if I can remove this posion... * Mikari is downstairs, still at the table... apparently having dozed off there... * Feray shudders violently, her muscles spasming...her hands twitch.. * Erellisae , so saying, nips out the door to the men's bedroom, knocking on the door. "Hey, it's me... everyone okay...?" ;/ :/ * Feray is bathed in a cold sweat. Gnnnn... I'm afraid not, Ms. Erellisae. * Rion opens the door, looking intently at Erel.. * ..trouble? * Jalanda glows a slight green, pulling her hand out from her robe and over Sue's chest. H...hhhh....help....help m-me....can't....can't... * Mitsuo pulls a blanket off of the bed and wraps it around himself, shivering, "...Something tells me this isn't normal..." I'll try this first on you, so I can tell if it's helping or not, okay? Sue stirs slightly, her breathing becoming more steady. After a while, she groggily opens her eyes. [Sue] Meprhipaghhblargph? * Mitsuo nods, "Okay." * Feray's eyes are closed and she twitches harder.. [Sue] *Thickly* What...happened? * Jalanda tries casting again, this time upon Feray with her other hand. * Dylan touches Mitsuo forehead, and chants softly.. "Rainbow springs, wash away all ills within this one" Sue stumbles out of bed and over to the window, muttering about poison, then makes loud retching sounds out into the compost heap below. ^^; She ducks her head back inside, wiping her mouth and grimacing, swearing under her breath. Mitsuo feels almost as good as new, if a bit queasy in the stomach, but that will pass with a good breakfast. ^^ Something was in the wine... the glass was warningus. * Mitsuo lets out a breath, his color improving almost instantly, "...That did it..." * Feray jerks hard at Jal's closeness... * Dylan hrmms.. * Dylan steps over to Nathan and repeats the process. ...What did Nathan and I have that was....wait... * Jalanda concentrates, purging Feray's body of what she can, with a firm, yet soft touch. Sue frowns at Feray, standing next to Jalanda and wobbling on her feet. [Sue] Who else drank so much of the wine? * Mitsuo closes his eyes and thinks, then snaps his head up, "...He had wine, didn't he?" * Nathan groans softly into his pillow * Mikari still lies in the dining room. * Erellisae runs back to the women's room, looking more worried than ever... before launching herself at Sue. "Sue...!! You're okay!" ;_; * Feray reaches up to grab Jal's wrist, squeezing, her breathing still constricted. ..so was it the wine? I know I swore off the stuff to avoid any fallout.. but.. ...Mikari. Check for her. Nathan awakes after a moment, feeling decidely sick and unsteady. =P His head swims and his stomach churns. Ge....get.... Sue acks and falls over O_o I only had half a glass...If I had any more, I might have been like Nathan... * Jalanda looks down, the green glow from her hand beginning to fade. away......away.......go.... Come on, Nathan, let's get you cleaned up.. * Erellisae then nods to Jalanda. "Okay!" before speeding off around the hotel, looking for her. * Dylan offers Nathan a hand * Nathan raises his head a bit off the pillow, looking bleary and ill This was deliberate...Who could have done this...? Why do I feel so awful? We were poisoned, Nathan. Looks like poison. In the wine. I dunno, Mitsy.. Sue picks herself up and unsteadily heads for the men's bedroom, leaning on the wall for support. She overhears Mitsuo's words. [Sue] More like...who were they trying to hurt? One of us, or all? And if one, who? Miss Feray, be still... the poison is almost gone. ........someone is going to die for this ...Maybe someone didn't want you going to the summit... * Nathan grimaces as he accepts Dylan's help up, still being rather unsteady on his feet Sue's eyes narrow in anger. As the bottle was a gift brought for me, or so said the servant... * Erellisae skids past the dining room, notices Mikari, and turns 180, calling out for Jalanda as she runs back. "Jalanda! She's in the dining room!" [Sue] Addressed to me. Representative for Sult, and more importantly, for the Icarians... * Jalanda finishes her spell, then pulls the hand away... * Mikari is found by Erel, lying at the table, her head lying on the table... she looks an unhealthy color despite her usual dark compexion... Did the servant say who? Or can we track that servant down? Feray awakes, feeling as awful as conceivably possible, but conscious and apparently no longer convulsing =P So, do we know who was cowardly enough to be unable to face us properly? * Feray gazes dazedly at Jal.. ...nnh..mm? * Erellisae tries with absolutely no success to drag Mikari a little way, before making a frustrated sound and dashing back towards the women's room. * Nathan punches a wall angrilly, if weakly [Sue] I have some ideas, Nathan...but first we'd better get a DECENT meal and heal everyone as best we can, before we sit down to talk... *Stumbles downstairs to harrangue the innkeeper* * Jalanda looks down into her eyes. "The wine had a toxin in it. Rest for now, it should pass... I must tend to the others." .....toxin... * Mikari flops on the ground, knocking the empty wine glass over on the table in the process... -_- * Erellisae skids through the door, near-shouting. "Jalanda! Mikari is still in the dining room!" * Jalanda catches her breath a bit, and arises, moving down the hall... * Mitsuo shakes his head, "...This could have killed us. Whoever is behind this is dead (pardon the pun) serious." * Feray watches Jal go, left alone in the womens room. * Nathan growls as he cleans himself up * Feray wraps her arms around her knees, pulling them against her chest and resting her forehead on their tops. You okay now, Nathan? * Jalanda follows Erel's lead, checking Mikari's condition. "I told her to refrain... she's very lucky." Physically? Yeah I'm fine. Outraged, but fine Sue returns up the stairs a few minutes later, wearing a deep scowl and carrying some cloth-wrapped items freshly purchased from the market. She peers into the men's bedroom. [Sue] If everyone is okay, can we meet in the girl's room and eat and talk? If not, let me know and I'll help heal. * Mitsuo nods, "Good. I think this taught me not to drink for a while. ^^;" * Jalanda furrows her brow and concentrates again, the aura of forest and life flowing from her pale hand through Mikari. You can tell this time she's straining. When I find who's responsible for this I'm gonna jam that wine bottle up someplace that wasn't mean to have stuff jammed up * Dylan helps Nathan into the girl's room Okay, Sue. Just...uh...let me get out of my PJs. ^^; * Feray just stays where she is, shaken. * Erellisae starts to leave after Jalanda, but looks back and blinks as Feray curls into a ball, hesitating. She crosses back over the room, and hugs Feray. ;_; * Mikari move slightly, but looks like she's swallowed a toad or three. * Feray tenses at Erel's touch but relaxes, taking a deep breath. "Hey." Sue nods and leaves, apparently not at all embarrassed by Mitsuo's lack of daywear. =P * Nathan is still in his boxers and shirt, and doesn't really care just now * Mitsuo quickly changes into some clean clothes, before running towards the girls room. Oh no.. you shouldn't swear off drinking because of this, bud. I mean.. the whole room can move, n'stuff. You'd never know what you're really missing. Hmm.. this is a most grave occurance * Feray is still pretty pale but forces a weak grin onto her face. ..Don't get scared 'cause of some dope who didn't have the balls to show his face when he attacked us. * Erellisae smiles back, hugging Feray. Sue sits on her bed in the girl's bedroom, passing out cloth-wrapped pieces of bread, cheese, and fruit. [Sue] Proper food will help. Can't leave your stomach empty except for poison traces... * Erellisae sweatdrops, and hugs Feray, not saying anything. :/ * Nathan slumps down against the wall, and represses a wave of nausea * Rion moseys into the room, leaning up against the wall. * * Mikari twitches and starts to moan, her first words sounding like cursing despite being mere mumblings. Sue blinks blearily, still apparently not all that well herself. * Mitsuo takes a bit of bread, cheese, and fruit, and munches on it, "...We're lucky no one was killed..." * Nathan munches lightly on the food, testing his stomach out * Feray stays motionless, not eating...she takes deep breaths. Sue nods. [Sue] Anyone need more healing before we talk? Where's Mikari? ...I take that to mean you are awake, Mikari? Try not to overexert yourself just yet... If they wanted us dead I'm sure we would be Sue puts a questioning hand on Feray's shoulder gently, silently asking if she's all right... So why just a debilitating poison then? She looks about the room vacantly, listening to the others talk, obviously bothered by the loss of control and strength. [Sue] So, no votes on their behalf...let's see, what issues were being discussed...? Sue thinks to herself, tallying up on her fingers. * Jalanda is sitting in the chair next to her, the last wisps of energy gone. "The wine was poisoned, Mikari. You are fortunate..." Mmmm. m'figured. >_< [Sue] *Counts off on her fingers* Let's see, I was instructed to vote on these issues... Damn... [Sue] Vote yes to crack down on piracy in the eastern Narrow Sea... [Sue] Basically, the Icarian Temple has requested the exclusive right to set up temples in all major cities and to establish simple religious law. I do think It was those guys ag'n, w'nt it?? I can't believe such a thing's even gettin' tabled. * Jalanda looks a little paler than usual. "...." ...Okay. When they took Erel last time, I was mad, but i was polite. Nice...This time I'm gonna throttle them. * Feray is quiet, contemplating that. [Sue] Remember how I showed you the Spirits' Temple? The Icarian devotees are trying to oust the old faith and take over with their own... * Mitsuo slams one of his hands into his palm. * Erellisae looks really upset. "Those... those... meanies!" She rrrgs, her grip on Feray tightening a little automatically before she notices. "Er, sorry, Feray. ^^;" « lol » * Feray twitches. S...s'fine.. Crap... I gotta go clean m'self out... *Mikari goes off to commune at the porcelain shrine* * Dylan sits quietly, looking a little tense Sue stands, a little wobbly, but better. She throws down the remains of her breakfast. [Sue] All right. I'm gonna freshen up, and then I am STORMING IN ON THAT BLASTED SUMMIT! *Swears under her breath as she searches her bags for her good clothes* A-hem? * Jalanda nods, and walks back to the group, and sits upon a bedside, drained. * Dylan gets up and goes back to his room Might I say something? Sue...are you sure you can handle it? [Sue] Yeah? And we can't exactly leave you alone while you could be in danger! WE GET TO GO TOO! :D * Mikari returns from "worship." Perhaps going in with guns blazing ins't the best idea [Sue] Sure Mitsuo, I'm all right. The best way to handle it, is to not react at all...outwardly at least I agree with Nathan...we don't want to let them know and have OTHER people hurt by this. And your word may be needed. * Erellisae looks half-excited, half-annoyed, at the prospects of going to the summit and going to face the Temple. What do clothes matter anyway? [Sue] Mikari, it is the first ever gathering of ALL the leaders of all the known nations... ^^; * Dylan shrugs. "I'll trust your judgement" * Erellisae nods, leaning back to let Feray past. Many of them are recognizable...Erellisae in particular will notice Guido, Gadwin, Rapp, Darlin, Derlin, Dorlin, Nana, Saki, Mio, and others. * Mitsuo sees these people, then glances to Erel, knowing what will happen ^^; * Feray gazes about, some of her cheer returning.. * Nathan considers the delegates carefully * Erellisae does indeed notice them all, and is about to make a grand tour of screaming and glomping... before she notices one other leader in particular, and quickly hides behind Dylan again, keeping low. ^^;;; Sitting in representation for the village of Luc is an unusually young pair, a self-confident young woman named Kittima and her rather bored-looking bodyguard, a young beastman named Drenner. ^^ * Drenner yawns noticeably, clearly not thrilled with the concept of attending. * Jalanda strides into the hall, assuming a very even pace and straightening. Jumps a foot into the air when he gets kicked and gives Kittima a sullen look, but keeps his mouth shut. * Mitsuo coughs lightly, feeling bad for Erel. ^^; * Dylan catches up with past events with Darlin, Dorlin and/or Derlin. Only their leader, the familiar face of Jiandir, seems unconcerned, though he does roll his eyes at his delegation's conduct... [Sue] Yup. I'm sure you'll have the opportunity to speak to some of the delegates later. * Mitsuo blinks, and notices the mumblings of the Icarian Temple people, "...(w) Soon." [Gyan] We resume our discussion, and we welcome the recently arrived delegate for Sult University and the Icarians both...Sue, a graduate student at the university and well-known celebrity. *He bows slightly* And we also welcome her friends and speakers. *Bows to each of the party in turn* * Dylan bows back * Erellisae fidgets in her chair still, trying to take in she's being recognized in a summit of nations. ^^; * Nathan nods to Gyan * Feray grins and nods at Gyan... * Jalanda closes her eyes briefly, whispering to Mitsuo. "I see many gathering blades... they hang about the air waiting for something." She breaks from the moment, returning the bow. Several of the delegates take new notice of the party for the first time. Rapp gives Erellisae a roguish wink. ^_~ * Erellisae blliiiiiiiinks... then blushes. Rather hard. "Woooww...." * Mitsuo blinks at Jalanda's prediction, worry growing in the pit of his stomach. [Gyan] Let us resume. Our next discussion is the proposal of the Icarian Temple... *his mouth twists with distaste as he unrolls a scroll* The temple has petitioned for the exclusive right to set up new temples in all cities, and the right to approve all other temples, such as the Spirits' Temples, should new ones be built as well. * Mikari sits, looking slightly uncomfortable and paranoid. [Gyan] Has anyone anything to say on this subject as an opening remark? Jiandir immediately stands... * Feray exhales softly, murmuring to herself. "He's against it..." Here we go... * Mitsuo turns to Jiandir and waits. * Jalanda looks about the room, her face calm.... she too seems to be waiting for something. Mmmrf. *Mikari interjects thoughtfully* [Jiandir] May I say to begin, I am certain all here are grateful to the Spirits for their blessings, as manifested in the holy personages of Feena and Leen, the Icarians. With this in mind, should we not spread the word of their glory to all cities? That is why we propose to build temples in all major cities... * Mitsuo rolls his eyes to himself. [Jiandir] And as we strive for the same things, essentially, as the Spirits' temple, we wish to approve all new temples, so the teachings may be in accordance with each other and not confuse the masses. [Gyan] Very well. Any other remarks before we open debate? Sue looks at her friends, then stands. * Dylan folds his arms with a quiet hmpf. * Drenner randomly pokes his head above the Mayor's chair and makes silly faces before sitting quickly back down. * Mikari taps her foot restlessly [Sue] If you please, high council, I wish to discuss my reasons for being here. * Mikari raises her eyebrow at the jester by the mayor * Rion smirks, trying his hardest not to blurt out any overused "rebuttal" jokes.. * [Sue] As representative for the Icarians, I speak directly for those whom the Temple claims to worship. They are strongly against the regulation and exclusive power of the Icarian Temple, for reasons which I shall disclose in debate. I wish to point out that Jiandir and his delegation will, of course, wish to bow to the wishes of those they worship. ^_~ Sue motions to her friends that they are free to speak now if they wish. * Nathan raises his hand to speak Gyan nods, a wry twist to his mouth. Gyan points to Nathan, reading from a list handed to him by a guard. [Gyan] Yes...Nathan, independent counsel...? * Nathan stands, and straightens his tunic Ladies and gentlemen, thank you. First off, I wish to say that the goals of the Icarian Temple are in fact admirable. However, I beleive that a certain truth must be adressed here . o O ( ...Oh boy. Here we go... ) Where I come from, we have 2 histories. An oral one, and a written one. Over the years, these two histories have...diverged from one another Gyan looks at him questioningly and listens. * Jalanda listens to the words of Nathan... It is ironic, that now we are unsure as to which history is in actually the correct one. All we can hope to do is extrapolate what we know from both, and make an aducated guess One would think then, that having a single golden record of the way of things would be the way to go But I ask you to consider this: when there is but one voice that tells a story, can error never take hold within those words? The council nods their heads, agreeing reservedly with Nathan so far.... Simple misconstruing of words or means, minor misunderstanding, and leeway of descriptions and emphasis can change the meaning of things in time * Erellisae tries to concentrate, but is still rather on a roll from having one of her childhood idols wink at her. *_* If there is no voice of contention, then there can be no cross-examination, and thereby no need to look into the words and meanings anymore, and simply accept it without question Once things are accepted without question, they can be twisted to others ends. Regardless of the purity of the intent behind it, there is no purpose in hiding the truth from others save for fear of what it means Gyan waits patiently for him to finish before commenting. This may sound like a soothsay of doom and destruction, but may I remind those assembled here, that Gaia was once simply a story to frighten naughty children * Feray watches Gyan's facial reactions to Nathan, taking stock of his character. Was the truth of Gaia merely forgotten, omitted, or overlooked as time passed? Who can say? Gyan listens patiently, sometimes nodding in approval of Nathan's reasoning. [Gyan] Nathan of Kessidy...do you wish to close your statement yet? *Smiles pleasantly* All journeys begin with but the smallest motion, regardless of its destination. I urge everyone here to remember that as you listen to the words of those assembled here today. My dissertation is complete, and I relinquish the floor * Nathan sits down again * Mitsuo whispers to Nathan, "Wow...Nice. O_o" (Q) Now, lets see how many feathers I ruffled * Nathan grins at Mitsuo ^_^ * Mitsuo grins back * Jalanda nods approvingly at Nathan. "Your words speak volumes for your character." Thank you Gyan nods respectfully to Nathan. [Gyan] Unless there are any other statements, we shall open debate. Hmm... not bad, Nate. * Dylan stands up May I speak? * Nathan winks at Mikari ^_- * Feray gazes at Nathan for a moment, thoughtful. ^^ [Gyan] Certainly, ah... *Consults his notebook* Dylan of Laine. *Derlin leans over to speak in Gyan's ear, then eagerly watches Dylan.* ^^ * Mikari smirks amiably at Nathan, if that is possible. ^_^ * Nathan whispers to Feray, "Keep your eyes peeled. There may be an attempt at disruption if this goes poorly for 'certain' individuals." * Feray nods slightly. Well, though my elders may later chew me out for being less eloquent that a fisherman, there are some pertinent comments I have to make.. The delegation from the Icarian Temple is, sure enough, scowling at Nathan. Except Jiandir, who is impassive but does nod once, respectfully, to Nathan. * Drenner snores loudly, lying on the floor. * Jalanda watches Dylan intently. Kittima wideyes at Drenner. O_o Then she kicks him again. YIPE! *leaps to his feet and swings randomly at the air before realize where he is again* Kittima hisses irritably at him to be quiet, and the council glances in their direction. =P I was taught the ways of the Spirits. That we should work with them for a better life. For this reason some might think me biased against those who worship Icarians.. * Drenner looks bashful and stands at attention quickly. The Temple delegation scowls as one. =P But I think, that those who worship people, and the Icarians *are* people, who have no wish to be worshipped, should perhaps redirect their effort. To help others is a fine desire, but it must be ruled by sense, not fanatism. * Feray snickers at the delegation, murmuring. "That takes talent." The delegation of devotees stands, shouting angrily, and Gyan attempts to quiet them....then Sue stands angrily. Here we go Hmm. (w) I was gonna say something...but with Nathan and Dylan...there's no need. ^^ ...Which is fine. ^^ [Sue] *loudly; the hall quiets* I wish to remind the council that I speak directly for the Icarians...and THEY see themselves as people, not supernatural beings. I believe they are the ultimate authority on that subject, and I doubt any here would disagree. *Sits again, arms folded across her chest irritably* As an example, one of my companions, after demonstrating an affinity with magic, was taken forcefully, until we caught up with them. In their favour they released her without argument. To this, there is a loud, surprised murmuring throughout the hall. * Mikari smirks in their direction at this public revelation. * Erellisae stands up. "Yeah! They snatched me down an alleyway and carried me off!" ;_; [Gyan] Dylan of Laine...do you know the identity of your companion's captors? Easy Erel, easy * Feray reaches up and tugs Erel down. * Dylan strokes his chin. * Jalanda remains quiet, feeling the tensions beginning to boil. * Erellisae remembers herself, sweatdrops, and sits down. ^^; * Nathan pats Erel reassuringly on the shoulder I hate to bring accusations into this room, but I do believe that Jiandir himself lead the group. Jiandir's delegation begins to shout angrily, but Jiandir calmly waves them to silence and stands. * Dylan bows to Jiandir * Erellisae glares at Jiandir. ;_; And the head man speaks If you could accept or contest this statement before I continue? [Jiandir] As the young man Nathan so eloquently reminded us, all sides of an issue must be considered. The "kidnapping" of young Erellisae was, for the most part, an unfortunate misunderstanding. I expressed my wish to speak with her, and some of my followers... *Glares at his delegates* ...abducted her rather than petitioned her to meet with me. [Jiandir] The matter has been dealt with. If anyone wishes to lodge a formal accusation, I will explain in greater detail, but I encourage the council not to see more into this unfortunate misunderstanding than is there. Ah. My point was that, however wise the leader, not all who are loyal are wise, or wise are loyal, Jiandir nods. [Jiandir] A worthy point made. If I may have the floor for a moment...? * Dylan nods Of course. Gyan nods to Jiandir, who continues. [Jiandir] I request that we postpone discussion of the Icarian Temple's proposals until these misunderstandings can be sorted out. I would request other issues be discussed for the remainder of the day, that we may spend our time sorting our own matters out. Gyan nods, then holds a quick vote with the council. Most are in favor of Jiandir's suggestion. [Gyan] Your request is approved. We will hold a short recess, then continue on to the question of agricultural advances in Leck. *Taps the bench with his gavel* Dismissed for recess. Those concerned with the next issue, please return in 15 minutes. * Feray perks at the mention of Leck. The crowd begins to rise and stretch, many streaming out into the session for a rest. * Erellisae perks at the mention of recess, intending to go visit a couple of heroes. ^_^ * Jalanda hmmmms softly. Stay focused people. This isn't over. They'll be back at this again when they feel they have an advantage Sue stands and looks at her friends. [Sue] Well....we have much to discuss. ^^ I'll meet the rest of you at the inn for lunch, okay? I have some people to talk to. * Mikari rises and stretches herself, unusually quiet. * Feray stretches in her seat and smiles wryly. "I'll be back at the Inn later." * Mitsuo nods, "...I'm going to try to find Master Shirgan...He'll be able to help, I think." * Feray makes her way towards Gyan. ^^ .o( The first blade has been cast... but how will the others fall? ) Good luck, Mits. ^^ Sue nods and smiles, then goes off to find Mullen, up at the high council.... Heh! I'm going to poke around and see what's what. * Mitsuo runs off into the crowd.
