The Magical Revolution

Gradually, the world recovered from its past catastrophes. Technology and magic were completely rediscovered, and society began to unify once more. But with unbridled use of technology came misuse, and magic was eventually disregarded and put aside. Mechanical power dominated as a corruptive force in the wrong hands...

It didn't last forever, though. While many were completely content with things the way they were, others saw what was happening to the world and were full of anger and fear. They overthrew the technological empire by means few people understand.

In this era, long after that change, the descendants of the Magical Revolution embrace Magic as their way of life. Nature has been saved, they say, and everyone is happy, or at least says they are...

Era notes:

Magic: While magic is strongly respected here, it is especially regulated. Citizens treat it more like a device than a wonder of nature. It is carefully chosen who will learn what, because they believe it's necessary to protect the careful balance of the kingdom. No one knows any other way.

Technology: Here exists the most powerful technology of any era. The question is, can you find it? While society shunned the use of technology and destroyed most of it, they did of course keep some of the devices, as remnants of the past, under impossibly strong protection. Also, it is said that some rebels escaped the Revolution, insisting on their own way of life. Perhaps they are living deep in the mountains, or hidden in a far-away forest, hiding their well-kept secrets...?
